  1. How did you manage to book the limelight for Saturday when you aren't on that cruise? I wouldn't have thought that was even possible as it shouldn't appear as an option to book. Enjoy your evening
  2. The Loen skylift is well worth the money if you ever get to go again. Cloud can interfere with the views, but that is the fjords for you.
  3. This is certainly the cruise that keeps on giving! I can imagine alot of passengers are frustrated. Did all the excursions leave or have they been stopped as well? Enjoy your coffee!
  4. Being able to book speciality dining for most nights before you sail on either Iona and Arvia is what makes the difference here I think (you cannot do this on all of the fleet before you sail). Most passengers will not be able to do that for a number of reasons but the biggest is the cost, many cannot afford to eat speciality every night and hence they will be relying on the app for the MDR (plus your fare includes the MDR, so you have already paid for it!). This is not an age thing, so don't worry! On Iona the app seems to work better (thanks to her 4 MDRs), but it is still prone to glitches. ICF hasn't had to book anything using the app yet, I expect when they try the MDR it will work fine but for other passengers who are using it every single night then they are bound to notice the glitches more.
  5. Really pleased you are having a great time. I always say that Norwegian fjord cruises are different and cannot be compared to others. You will always find that the buffet is the most popular area for breakfast due to the views, and like on any ship if the weather is a little off most passengers will sit inside and not outside. Also alot of passengers are up very early due to the views sailing into the port and the early berthing. Without the need for shuttles (mostly) they can come and go as they please with ease, so it leads to a more relaxed feeling on the ship. May I ask, I know you say that the app always works for you, but if you have all your entertainment and speciality dining booked before leaving when else do you actually use the app?
  6. Pleased you enjoyed your cruise and thankyou for your feedback. Your feedback supports that of others regarding less queue time for the MDR's on Iona. Clearly having the 4 main dining rooms works and is needed.
  7. Yes from what I know you have to constantly refresh the app to check for the notification that your table is ready. Pleased the wait isn't too long on this cruise.
  8. Really pleased you didn't get caught up in the queue for too long Megabear, and that you knew about the free port bus. That's really handy to know. We had read some passengers were waiting over an hour to get off this morning. Hope you had a lovely day ashore.
  9. That's really good to hear that it wasn't as bad for you today, and that you had a great return journey.
  10. The shuttle buses are not supplied by P&O now though so you do have to pay if you want to use them at Haugesund.
  11. Hope only a few passengers were caught up in the long wait for shuttles again today on Arvia.
  12. Thank you for your update. I'm really pleased that they sorted your cabin for you. Unfortunately there have been many changes, including the introduction of the app. May I ask, how long were you having to wait in the queue for the restaurants?
  13. Yes, just to supply a list of where shuttles are available and their drop off points for your upcoming cruise. That way passengers are informed with plenty of time and it doesn't catch them out. The cruise line can even put *subject to change* to cover themselves for any last minute issues, and if they are a far way out then explain why. I think overall not only does it help passengers but it also helps the crew who have to face the complaints.
  14. Yes I think it is best to take it as a "guide" to the minimum, but that on the rest of the fleet for cruises of more than 7 nights you could expect more.
  15. People generally understand when a last minute issue (such as protests) has meant operationally it is not safe to get you into a city, or that due to road closures you cannot reach there. That is a very different scenario, and out of any cruise lines hands. Getting you as close as possible would be seen as a compromise. But here we are talking about a planned shuttle dropping you far from the city which many passengers would not be aware of until the night before (if they have read their paper). I just think it would help passengers if they know with a bit more time, that's all.
  16. There needs to be more information for passengers where the shuttle bus takes you to. I don't mean just in the horizon paper the night before but maybe at the same time the shore excursions are released to give passengers (especially those with mobility issues) time to plan if they need further transport. Even if they give an explanation as to why the shuttle is further out, at least passengers who haven't been before would be well aware. Passengers wouldn't complain if there was more transparency and information.
  17. Understandable you are disappointed with missing your favourite port. Do you know why the shuttle in Valencia took you there and not into the centre?
  18. Sorry to hear that. I know you've had itinerary changes and the sickness bug onboard.
  19. Oh my! @Megabear2 @DS_DeanP&O at their finest again in not thinking fully about that one 😂 Cards stopped being scanned on the return journey anyway weren't they? So they wouldn't know who used it. I hope you are both having a lovely day (enjoy that gelato!) And good luck with the buses!
  20. Hope this helps. Although I did think there would be more black tie nights for 12 night cruises on the rest of the fleet, so apologies for my previous post thinking there would be at least 3! It may be cruise specific though. Your cruise personaliser will tell you nearer to your cruise.
  21. I forgot to add Azura and Ventura into the ships that have 2 gala nights per 7 days.
  22. On Aurora, Arcadia and Britannia you should have 2 gala nights in a 7 day period. On Arvia and Iona there is only 1 gala night in a 7 day period. So on a 12 night on Aurora you should have at least 3 and possibly 4.
  23. Yes you do get one gala night on a 2 - 4 night cruise. Hope they have a wonderful time! Arcadia is a lovely ship.
  24. Yes they can be. Someone gave us advice to try and opt for the afternoon trips as any cloud is likely to have lifted by then (obviously not guaranteed, but a better chance of a good view).
