  1. We have used PJ's with good success. Expensive for what you get but a good experience. On our last two cruises we have opted for Tours By Locals. It was just the two of us and a guide. Fully customized. You can select the guide from all of the online reviews. Less expensive than PJ's overall. We have gone to this small tour/private option since the pandemic hit. We are done with even mini buses full of people. We also have done Tours By Locals splitting the cost with another couple (from our Roll Call).
  2. I second this opinion. They are excellent.
  3. It is possible that it makes sense from a bridge engineering point of view looking at the bedrock, currents, access, etc. Who knows but the experts. They built the new Tappan Zee Bridge (now Gov Mario Cuomo Bridge) next to the old one, which was then removed.
  4. Found this project to increase the clearance of the Suspension Bridge near Savanah, GA to be quite interesting. https://apnews.com/article/savannah-suspension-bridge-georgia-south-carolina-49440d932d0abcff20351a6fac33620d
  5. My DW drinks Pinot Grigio and was satisfied with the selection available using her D+ drink coupons on the ship (Symphony). We did not purchase drink packages.
  6. We ordered the lobster in Murano. Same Caribbean spiny lobster (crawfish) tail. About the size of a large shrimp. Just not worth it even if you order two. The lobster roll in Luminae is mostly salad with a few small pieces of meat. Again not worth it IMO. The only true Maine lobster we have found was on Celebrity Edge (surf & turf) in the Fine Cut a few years ago.
  7. We have booked many S1 Aft corner sky suites- never had soot. For those that did, I believe you, but how do you know it was actually smoke-stack soot and not some other type of outside dirt? Just curious.
  8. Yeah the dinosaurs did not have insurance either. Life is unfair.
  9. True lobsters have claws like the ones in New England and Canada. The Spiny or Caribbean warm water "lobsters" served on cruises do not have claws and are actually classified in the crawfish family, not the lobster family. But would people get excited if they called it Crawfish Night?😄
  10. Yes good comment! It is important to check the required voltages for devices you are plugging in. Many are 110/220 but some are 110 only.
  11. A trick we have used for years. We take an empty spray bottle and a few dryer sheets like Bounce. Once on board add water and a dryer sheet to the spray bottle. Instant wrinkle release spray. It really works!
  12. I never knew that there was a proper method to fill a cone with Soft Serve. Thanks!
  13. On our recent cruise, some restaurants (like Hooked) did not honor the BOGO even on night 1 or 2.
  14. They look nice but pretty expensive. I think they would be too noisy for us with all of the Aqua show activity.
  15. Are you referring to the Aqua Theatre Suites?
  16. I agree with @jk04on this. We definitely choose the ones on either side facing the ocean.
  17. Yes that might explain it. We did Symphony recently and loved it! Enjoy!
  18. Just too funny. 😄 The answer was yes in post #2. Still yes on post #21.
  19. Lunch menu for dinner? That seems very strange and not the typical case on a cruise. The CK dinner menu changes every night for 7 nights, then starts repeating again on night 8. That has been my experience recently on two different ships. The breakfast menu is the same every day. The lunch menu has quite a bit of repetition but some different choices daily. In fact I would say exactly the same thing about Luminae on Celebrity.
  20. Cafe al Bacio page on Celebrity for more info. https://www.celebritycruises.com/things-to-do-onboard/eat-and-drink/bars-and-lounges/al-bacio?cid=ps_58700008370503446&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwqpSwBhClARIsADlZ_TlLQhjDYDAwPhGnbpAHNXURARnq683voQli-5-16IWGaeEqEpW4mfoaAunQEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
  21. OK as I mentioned subjective. But we really liked CK on our cruise last month on Symphony.
  22. We have a 2-BR GS coming on Indy. Again inexpensive compared to a CS on Celebrity. But Indy does not have CK so we will book the UDP for this cruise. And these Freedom-Class ships have fewer suite benefits (like WiFi is not included) which I find strange and annoying. But the itinerary was great for us (12 night Canary Is).
  23. Have you dined in CK? I don't really agree with you after dining recently in CK on Symphony and Luminae on Equinox. CK is much better than a smaller version MDR. The food, selection and service are all excellent IMO. Comparable to Luminae. But this is all subjective of course. I was not a fan of Luminae on Edge compared to S-Class or M-Class ships.
  24. @larry_s_taco I have been mostly off the Celebrity board as I am trying other cruise lines after many cruises in The Retreat. I decided to switch instead of complain about the high prices and diminished service. Wait it out I guess. Some things are being brought back (like butlers). We shall see. Recently did RCCL Symphony in a Crown Loft suite and loved it. Huge ship - maybe much too large for you. Priced much lower than comparable CS on Celebrity. You get a suite lounge and Coastal Kitchen (like Luminae). We are D+ so we get 5 drink coupons each per day, plus the suite lounge beverages. No need for a beverage package.
