We have a lot of flamingos here in Florida, but most are plastic stuck in people's lawns:D

5. Robe or no robe in room..(.we don't have a suite)
6. We have an 8:30 pm dinner seating how is the anytime dining or are we just kidding ourselves to get a decent time for a table 7-7:30 pm party of 3.
All rooms have robes - described as "waffle" fabric
As for anytime dining - you did not say when your cruise is - I am sailing 5/26 and reserved my time for 7:00 most evenings except when we have a late excursion - then booked 8:30.
As of yesterday all anytime are wait listed

Do they have bingo on Celebrity Equinox? Will be on ship May 29th, Thanks
Do you mean in 2017? If so, the Equinox will be at sea on that date - having departed Miami on May 26th

Great thread

We had a friend buy a big wheel of cheese. She and her companion sat on the dock eating it.

NCL only offers freestyle dining which is like 'select'; no set dining times, no reservations needed in the MDR. And they don't run into anywhere close the issues celebrity does with the waits for dinner. Since all passengers are on freestyle sufficient MDR space (all of it) is allocated for this purpose and natural spacing of passenger dining preferences keeps there from being long waits. If celebrity is running into very long waits at peak dining times then they have more passengers eating in select than the MDR space allowed for it will fit. So either they are allowing too many people to choose select (very likely) and/or allowing too many non-select people to eat there as they please (also very likely).

I have Select Dining on the 5/26 Equinox - I have made all my reservations, but I just checked - I could change to 8:30 for traditional. 6PM is listed as unavailable, and other select times are wait listed.

Take the train to New Jersey and do the Canada New England cruise.
http://www.celebritycruises.com/htmlpage/go-canada-new-england
He could probably drive to NJ faster than the train - Amtrak from Tampa to Wilmington DE is 23 1/2 hours!! Probably similar times from East Coast of FL to NYC

No plans to change my planned travel to Europe next spring. I'll probably be safer there than I am with the crazy drivers here in Florida.
Actually, the crazy drivers head north at the beginning of may!:D

Does this travel alert make you rethink your cruise plans?

Maybe IE works ok because it is SO slow that Celebrity's servers can handle it. :D

Our family's FINALLY going to St Thomas and St Maarten!!!!! Now. I need excursion help please!! Mostly for St Maarten. I want to see both sides (especially the planes coming in) and I want to stop in Pandora for a charm. Any advice? :)
If you can - take the Americas Cup Racing - you actually crew a 12 metre sailboat - retired Amercas Cup yachts.

Does anyone understand why RCCL does not support Google Chrome? I had a problem trying to search for a cruise and the site would just hang up. A quick call to RCCL and they told me to use Internet Explorer. They said they do not support Chrome, and I needed to use IE.
Due to many factors (speed being one) I DESPISE IE. A survey in 2016 found 43% of users use IE, and 39% use Chrome.
Seems like RCCL needs to improve.
-
Not a Celebrity website problem, but a RCI problem. I attempted to access RCI site to plan a cruise, but had problems. I was told I needed to use Internet Explorer, because they do not support Google chrome. In 2016, 39% used Chrome, and 43% used IE.
I guess Celebrity's IT is as messed up as RCI.

I will not be tempted to save money by flying on the cut-rate airlines, don't want to take a chance on missing the cruise. Coming home I'll use them, but going there I want to make sure I get there.
I nearly missed a cruise with a flight on a major airline, but I agree about the cut rate airlines.

As far as we are concerned the ONLY specialty worth the additional cost is Murano. Tuscan is more like an upscale Italian chain and Qsine is just quirky presentations (may be fun to try once with a large group so you can taste everything). We got a 1/2 off discount for both and felt we'd never return to either. Now that they are removing the Ocean Liners restaurants from the Mclass ships, we'll pass on specialty dining on those ships. We haven't tried Lawn Club on Reflection yet, but will only do so if a discount is offered. Otherwise we'll be happy with MDR or Blu. You'll get lots of differing opinions here since tastes are subjective. We like the ambience and service that Murano offers and find it a treat.
I read the menu for Ocean Liner and Murano - they are the same.
Ate in Chops Grill on RCL - the Ambiance was great - until a group of 10 rowdy adults with 6 misbehaved kids spoiled it.
RCL has raised the price for Chops to $49. I will be damned if I am going to spend more than $100 (with tip) for a meal. I can do that at some of the finest steak houses in the country.
Since Celebrity offers specials of 2 for 1 - I guess they are saying the base price is too high.

I have noticed before that they have attempted to do away with the elite (and above) priority tendering. We were in a two hour line to get onto a tender in a port a couple of years ago. When I asked what happened to our priority tickets, they said they were no longer doing this and we just had to wait our turn.
Well, that was resolved rather quickly as the next port on the same cruise, we received our priority tendering. I think there must have been many complaints. I hope they never try to take that away again!
By the way, I notice that the complimentary pressing of 2 garments no longer seems to be listed. I sure used the heck out of that benefit. I hope it was just another oversight on their part.
The pressing of 2 garments is mentioned as a select benefit - elite gets all select benefits Plus more

Thank you for the helpful replies. We mow have premium package on our upcoming President's Cruise (ireland-Iceland 5-7-170) , but have a classic package for another Celebrity cruise to Canada-New England. Will probably upgrade to premium on that one,
With the new policy of only having to pay the difference in drink costs, I'm not sure paying the $11.80/ day charge is worth it - especially if the preferred liquor is only a couple of dollars more.
-
I run to the Martini Bar...does that count?
I'm not a martini drinker - more of a bourbon Manhattan minus the vermouth and the cherry:D

Perhaps the woman you mentioned was offering her explanation of why she didn't know the price of the discussed hotel, since it was being paid by someone else, but wanted to offer a suggestion. Neither of us have a definite reason for her post. However most on here who offer input or answers for others are merely trying to be helpful, not snobbish.
I would accept that IF the cruise was leaving from Texas and not Miami.
-
Interesting comments. Thousands of dollars and thousands of hours spent with Celebrity will in most instances lead to Elite and above status with the cruise line. It has nothing to do with one being down to earth or being of snobbish behaviour as is implied. It is a sign of the cruise company saying thank you for your loyalty.
Unless the person next to you at the bar flaunts their status at you, you will never know who is or is not a particular status. We all started out as Preview just as you did
I made this post after reading on another thread about where to stay in Miami. The woman talked about the fact they would be spending several days at an Indian wedding in Texas before her cruise. She said the host was paying all expenses, and said her husband hat met him when he was an exec. at Subway.
If had nothing to do with the post. Seemed to be she was bragging. This is the kind of person I was referring to. As you say - flaunting their status - !
-
I was within 2 minutes of missing a ship in Miami - if I had booked choice air they in all likelihood put me on a different flight from Philadelphia, or would have gotten us to St. Martin - 3 days late, but still able to make the cruise!
-
Reading all these posts, I am glad I am not Elite!! Having the drink package meets my needs and I am willing to bet I will meet more down to earth people in the other venues!
A Few More Cut-backs!
