  1. I am trying to purchase our travel insurance. I dont really want to go through royal because it is expensive. I went on insuremytrip.com and square mouth and there is a ton of policies. I honestly want the cheapest policy but I want to make sure we are properly covered. I dont know which one to choose, the cheapest policy is travelguard but I'm just not sure if it is a good policy. Does anyone have any suggestions on inexpensive plans for a 4 nt cruise?

  2. Just need some ideas from those that frequently cruise... for a 4 nt cruise on symphony for a family of 2 adults and 2 teens what is a reasonable or ideal amount to bring for spending money. I've read where people say 100.00 per person per day.... thats 1600.00.... that kinda seems like too much... our gratuity is already prepaid so we don't have to worry about that and we dont plan to do more than 1 excursion and we wont be doing any specialty dining.....but I'm curious on what is a realistic spending money amount for a cruise... any advice?

  3. I know many cruisers say so not buy toiletries on the ship. But what about meds? Are you allowed to bring OTC meds in your carry on? If you are on prescription meds do you need a note from your dr? What types of meds do I need to pre purchase before the cruise?

  4. We will be traveling from Tennessee to port of Miami to board symphony. To rent a car for 1 week will be almost 700.00.....I am really unsure if I want to spend that much especially since the car will sit at the port while we are cruising.... I even checked Into one way rental but the drop off fees are astronomical. My last resort would be to drive my personal vehicle which is a 2016 with 70,000 miles.... but with port of miami being 13.5 hours away I doubt want to risk mechanical issues... does anyone have any suggestions.... I'm really stressed about what to do...

  5. I have read on the Miami Terminal topic on here that when boarding the symphony many people had to check their carryon luggage because it was too big.... i didn't think cruise terminals had a size limit like TSA does. So how big is too big for a carryon? Do we need to just carry backpacks? I really dont need any surprises when boarding.....

  6. On RC website it says on 4 night cruises there is only 1 formal night normally on the 2nd night, I know a lot of people dress up for the formal nights on 7nt cruises, but I'm reading that many people really don't dress up for the formal on 4 nt cruises, for those that have sailed short cruises on RC what has been your experience on formal night what did you wear?

  7. I know I've asked a lot of questions lately, my spouse and I and our 2 teens will have carry ons but we are not sure what type of bag to bring. Since royal now allows 12 case non alcoholic beverages to be carried on, would it be best to bring a duffel bag or a backpack to carry? I dont want to drag around something too heavy but I want to make sure I have everything I need just in case my luggage takes awhile to get to my stateroom. Also lord forbid if our luggage gets lost how does the cruise line compensate you or help you to buy things that you need?

  8. we are sailing Symphony on a 4 day cruise in 2019, due to such a short cruise I am debating rather or not I need to purchase royal caribbeans cruise insurance or purchase travel insurance through 3rd party or just for go it since it is short cruise. Does anyone else buy travel insurance through royal or do you just travel with out it? Please give me your thoughts....

  9. We are booked on symphony for may 2019 because it was the cheapest sailing next yr. I guess we waited too late because all of the cabins that hold 4 guest or more are booked& they have no more connecting rms and all that is left is owners suites which are 2500.00 per person. We had to resort to 2 rooms side by side and our teen children will be in one and we will be next door. I'm still a little nervous because there wont be any type of adjoining door that I could keep a eye on them. Have anyone ever cruised and your children had separate rooms? Is this a safe option?

  10. this will be my family's first cruise on symphony . We will be also bringing our kids who are 12&17 .Since it is just a four night cruise can anyone please offer suggestions on

things we need to make sure we pack. Most of what I read online is for seven day cruises. Are there any tips and suggestions other cruisers can give me concerning everything from planning and hotel accommodations in Miami and what ever good advice you can give. We are really excited and I just want to make sure everything goes smooth.:D

  11. I am getting ready to book a 4 night cruise on the symphony of the seas but many frequent cruisers are telling me that this might be a group cruise sailing that is why it is only 4 nights when most oasis class ships are 7 nights and that I might need to do my homework before I book because large charter cruises can ruin your cruise experience. Royal Caribbean will not tell me if this is a charter cruise and I'm nervous because this is our first cruise and I have heard some horror stories from people that have had to be on a cruise with a large charter group. Does anyone know what I can do to find this info out?

  12. Im sorry I'm new at this and I'm not sure which thread to post this question in but i have our family pre cruise hotel marriott residence inn cape canaveral booked the day before our RCL cruise out of port canaveral mainly because of the park and cruise package. I've read many people have left comments about other hotels close by but I haven't read many concerning this one. Has anyone stayed here and took advantage of their park and cruise package? Also, since we will be driving back home which is 10 hours after the cruise should I book a hotel post cruise to stay the night at after we disembark because I read we might be tired after leaving the ship or would that even be necessary ?

  14. i am trying to debate if I want to book a standard balcony cabin for a family of four or should I go with a suite on oasis of the seas. This would be our first cruise on RCL and I am unsure a regular room would fit 4 people plus luggage but to upgrade to a suite is 4000.00 more and I am not sure that is worth it. Just need advice on which direction would be best.
