Just got on the Pride and not impressed so far

Or you can sail from Dover on higher priced ships like the Seaborun Quest, Hurtigen and Disney Majic, they all use Dover. -

Great, glad things are better, we are going to Dover on Aug 21st - the Dover chaos made the news over here. We do plan on walking from Dover station to the ship. Where did you get your pre-cruise covid test? we haven't decided whether to book an in-person one in the UK or do an on-line test. -
Will Carnival Follow Princess Easing Vaccine Restrictions

But they have. P&O is a Carnival line and have lifted the pre-cruise testing for sailings. So what is the difference between P&O sailing out of the UK to European ports and the Carnival Pride sailing out of UK ports? -

P&O is owned by Carnival and mainly operating out of the UK and Europe yet the Pride operating out of the UK/Europe still requires pre-testing. Doesn't make sense that passengers aboard the P&O Iona visiting ports in Norway don't require a covid test but Carnival Pride passengers visiting the same ports are required to have it -
Spent 21 days on the P%O Arcadia, don't remember kettles but we are not tea drinkers and wouldn't notice them. We need something strong in the morning and tea is just weak and tasteless to me. I do remember the Arcadia having the worst food and worst selection of food of any cruise we have ever been on.

We are flying out to England the week before the cruise, Aug 14th so we have to get our test in the UK. Haven't decided if we will take a home test with us and then do the on-line test using On-point, which is recommended by Carnival. The other options for us is calling in at Gatwick airport on the way to Dover and using the on-site testing at 35 pounds. https://www.expresstest.co.uk/book-a-test/?gclid=CjwKCAjwoMSWBhAdEiwAVJ2ndnGagf2RqU4YESpoh0wH_12CnwqjFT8snUXv5SR3w6HvuMtLWMqQuhoCPCQQAvD_BwE

Carnival Pride - July 1-10, 2022 Trip Review
M&A replied to Bulldogsoc's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Great review very detailed and informative!! thanks for that, we are sailing on the Pride in August. -
We are flying to England to pick up our Pride Northern Europe and Dover to Rome cruises. With the chaos and delays at airports we are taking a carry-on only this cruise. We plan on arriving at Dover in the afternoon and will carry on our own, it doesn't make sense to hand it over to a porter and then wait for it when we have rolled them around airports, train stations etc
-
Makes sense to me, but they could have your information when you pick it up and all B2Bs may be flagged.

Almost the same difference Dover is 82 miles to London, Southampton 80. Faster to get to Dover: Dover has the high speed train from London St Pancras 1 hour 5 minutes Southampton to Waterloo staion 1 hour 18 minutes -
We may do that, we are flying to England one week pre-cruise. Sailing on the Pride and wouldn't be able to the testing in Canada. I think the self-tests are free at Walmart

Yes, I'm not expecting much for what I paid. We bought the B2B out of Dover back in April, $200 each in a balcony cabin for the 12 day Northern Europe cruise and we got the $200 cabin credit. Booked the Dover to Rome cruise right after for $200 each, balcony cabin and got the $200 cabin credit. Used air mile point to fly to England and back from Venice. Staying in England for a week pre-cruise with friends. The only real expense will be a week in Italy...................😉

That's too bad, that's one of our favorite places on a ship to sit and relax on deck chairs away from the noisy pool area, it's covered and out of the sun and rain. Closer to the water and quiet. -
No more covid testing required on one Carnival line
M&A replied to IntrepidFromDC's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
But we are sailing on the Pride in Europe later this summer and not only do we have to be tested, they require proof of booster for Europe saiing. -
But did you enjoy the cruise?

Did you do your proctored test in Europe? any problems getting on-line with time difference? -
My daughter texted me yesterday after she got on the ship, there was a one hour wait to park the car there

I could understand if they had lost their luggage but you would think they would avoid the MDR on elegant night. -

It was the same on our RCI and P&O cruises, they must be buying from the same safe supplier. It's frustrating that you have to carry 3 cards around. -

It was a one day strike, so I would say that the chances of trains running would be 99.9%? Train station to the port is a mile
