  1. OK we've researched Belize, its like any other poor city have you ever been to Brooklyn, NY Ghetto area, its worse then the worst part of Belize City, you wouldn't walk the streets in poor areas in the states after dark, so then why would you do it in a poor countries ghetto area. We have intentions of walking to the Lighthouse from the tourist village then to the swing bridge- has anyone ever taken this walk before? What is the best directions? .I know, to get to the light house walk out of the west gate up the road a bit to the light house, oh yeah and the Belize sign Then what?? Does BC have any fast food places like Mickie D's? What does Brodies sell?

I think Belize city used to have a subway but is is closed. Things like fast food and all inclusives really have no place in Belize.

  2. But are the streets in that area safe to walk? That is one of my fears.

Think I need to really research this one....Thanks

might be best you just stay on the ship. Others will tell you about it when they get back.

  3. thats difficult because everything is so scattered in Belize. The places I would recommend are in the south of the country. There are alot of places in San Pedro including Lamamai chocolate.

  5. Are you sure that all Canadian car rental agencies rent cars under the same parameters? And what is the difference between an American car and a Canadian car.. And another question, are you telling me that all car rentals are now equipped with GPS or just Canadian cars? Sounds expensive.

How many times have you had extra charges when renting a car from Canada to the USA to say that there could be extra costs? I want to learn to avoid these costs. After all this is the first for me.. Booked my car 3 months out for $80 a day for two days. That rate is now doubled:D.

the difference is in the marketing as they come from the same plants. cars are sold for less in Canada because it is a poorer country which is why it is so difficult for Americans to buy Canadian cars.

  6. What is the name of that service? Where can I find information about STILA? There was nothing when I Googled it.

As has already been explained use the transportation link for the airport pretty much any airport on the planet is going to have a website that in part discusses available transportation from the airport the other option is to use Google stila is there

  7. Either hotel is great and have good access to the quarter. You dont say what your interests are so We can only guess. There are walking tours for art, history, antiques, drinks and food you can google. The kids should enjoy riding the street car and the insectarium

  8. clearly the above poster has never done the tour. There certainly is a bus ride involved which allows you to see some country side. Complaining about a bus ride you knew you were going to do is childish. The tour wont happen if there has been alot of rain. You can get a feel for the tour on youtube. Have someone show you how to do it.
