  1. I personally don't have a issue with someone asking politely to complete the survey. I believe that is good for us and Royal.

I do have a issue asking for high marks. However, I can't recall ever being asked to give a high score/mark.

I just returned from Harmony of the Seas on 9/30/17 and the survey was waiting for me to complete when I opened my email.

I was surprised by the question asking if any RCL employee had requested high survey marks. Kind of a catch 22 situation. In my case...both dining room waiter and cabin stewardess asked for a 10. The sad part is that neither one of them needed to do that...they both both DID provide service deserving a 10. Because of that I lied on the survey saying they hadn't asked for the high marks because I didn't want them to get into trouble.

Now that I know that question is on the survey, on my next cruise I'll tell them about the question should they mention high marks. Maybe this will dissuade them from asking in the future.

  2. I'm on the same cruise on RCCL. I really hope that they do not go to St.Martin or Puerto Rico. I know the islanders rely on tourism, but I cannot see them handling that volume in 2 months. I live in FL and know what it's like after a hurricane. We only had Irma come through as a 1 and things are still a mess. Personally, Nassau, Cozumel, and Costa Maya would be my preference.

Nassau, Cozumel and Costa Maya were the ports RCL substituted for our Eastern Caribbean itinerary on the Harmony that sailed Sept. 23.

  3. I'm glad you didn't lose any reservations:) I tried to get someone who would agree to keep our reservations, but since no one would, I gave up. It may have to do with our TA being from a big box store. Apparently they put us in a group (unbeknownst to us) after we transferred our on board booking to them. Live and learn......

Happy for you that you were able to upgrade! Enjoy your JS cabin...especially the bathroom. That's what I was looking forward to most.

Our TA is also from a big box store and we are also part of a group booking(I knew that at the time we booked). Why would being part of a group jeopardize show reservations if a cabin change was made? The TA did not book any reservations for us...I made all of ours on my own.

  4. I redeemed points for OBC in January for November cruise. I recently received an offer for 20% off shore excursions & wanted to use the OBC, which isn't usually available until a week or two before sailing. I called & explained & the agent spoke with "resolutions". The OBC was available to me for use later that afternoon! Try calling :)

If you don't mind my asking, what number did you call? Did you call RCl or Visa ? I called Visa and Crown and Anchor last week and neither could help me get my points added to my reservation. (regular res won't talk to me because I booked my cruise with a travel agency)

I redeemed my points 3 weeks ago for a September cruise and have missed the shore excursion pre-cruise sails because I can't get my OBC added to my res.

Any help you can provide is certainly appreciated.

  5. Don't stress !! Sometimes it doesn't show until you are on board. I bring the print out of my OBC points purchase as a backup just as I do my zero balance of the cruise. I've not had any issues for the OBC on several sailings.

I'm not stressed; I'm disappointed because I'm trying to prepurchase shore excursions now because they have been on sale. It's going to cost me $30 more on board for the same excursions. That's money I can use for something else once I'm on board.

  6. Carol, how long ago did you request the OBC on the VISA website? They should show up very quickly on the RC website in your Cruise Planner. If you can't see it, check on the RC Visa website again, to be sure that it went through. (i.e., were the points deducted from your total?)

I redeemed my points directly by phone with Visa over two weeks ago for a Sept. Harmony sailing and they have yet to appear on my cruise planner. I'm hoping to use them to purchase shore excursions which are on sale now. Why is it taking so long?

  7. On a related note, my credit card OBC that I cashed in 2 months ago still isn't showing up :(. I suppose I should give them a call. I know my cruise is a year away, but I'd really like to book my excursions with the credit right now!

    Very frustrating isn't it?!

I cashed in points 10 days ago toward my sailing in September. I'm trying to purchase a shore excursion while it is on sale this week. If RCL is going to offer sales and allow you to use OBC, then it should be posted in a timely manner. I'd love to be able to hold the shore excursion in my cart at the sale price until the OBC appears in my cruise planner. Not likely to be allowed .....

  8. I also just redeemed Visa points for OBC a few days ago for a September sailing and I know it will take awhile to show up. Just trying to see where it might be on the Cruise Planner,.

I went from the RCL website to My Cruises, clicked on View Reservation which took me to an overview tab with a vacation summary. A previous poster suggested going into the Cruise Planner which is 2 tabs to the right of the overview tab (which I did). I still don't see anything at the top of the page that would show a place for the OBC or a drop down box of any kind.

Can anyone help? What am I missing or doing wrong?

    Thanks.

  9. We are boarding Oasis on 6/18 and we are on Deck 11 - and we have an aft balcony stateroom, category D3. Our room falls within your "721-729" mention above.

We are sailing on Harmony in September and have cabin 11703 confirmed in a D5 Category. In addition to the higher deck level, I think it also has to do with cabin capacity.

  10. ok great. thanks. and all i see on site is 24.99 booking fee but no other faq etc with any charges. one review does say is 100 cancel fee which is not nice. but i have to keep searching to find that on their site. also i wonder if my trip insurance from trip insurancestore would pay that cancel fee for me?

truthfully the price of the cabin and free grats is the lowest ive seen and i do daily tracking of prices. so if i'm locked into 'todays' pricing i would be happy indeed with my 400 off. i'm also surprised there's a cheaper cabin price on there as i've read many times they cannot discount cabins on a TA site

I had a Harmony cruise booked for Sept. with a T.A. with a $24.99 booking fee and a $100 cancel fee. ( I had booked with them before and knew about these charges.) I also had booked trip insurance with them for another $198.

About a week after booking, another T.A. that I have also used in the past offered the cruise I was already booked on for a much lower group rate and offered pre-paid grats as well as OBC.

The original T.A. was given a chance to match the new price and perks but chose not too. Consequently, I canceled the first booking and even with all of the cancel fees, I still came out ahead.

As long as you are still outside of final payment, it's not too late to change. Do whatever is financially best for you!

  11. We are at the Park n Go! Highly recommend this place. We paid online in advance ($6.99 per day!) and just showed the confirmation when we arrived. They ushered us forward to the valet area. I guess they do complimentary valet for the big ships. Our shuttle driver is fantastic and made sure everyone had the essentials before starting out (he went down a huge list from memory of things people always leave in their cars!) and now we are on the way to the ship. ETA: 5 minutes to the terminal!

By valet, do you have to leave your car keys with Park n Go ? We are used to parking are own car.

  12. We loved Deck 11. Then there's this: if someone wants you out of your chosen room, you could wind up in the middle of a group you don't want to be in. We were in the middle of a family who had booked 6 rooms, 3 on either side of us. While they didn't really bother us, they did go out on their balconies to talk to each other, so we were sometimes caught in the middle of that. It wasn't really a problem; I just thought I'd throw that out there for you to consider.

Glad to hear you like Deck 11. We have 11706 booked on Harmony in September. Originally had 8704 booked but found if we moved from D8 to D6 it was actually less expensive. Really looking forward to being that high up on the ship.
