  1. For those who have sailed in this Category....the deck plan lists this category as obstructed. Since these oceanview cabins are at the front of the ship on several decks, what is the obstruction?  Also, there is a space between the port side cabin and the first forward facing cabin on the left as well as the same space on the starboard side. Any info as to whether that might be a crew closet or crew door that might make those first and last forward facing cabins loud?  Any photos of this cabin category would be greatly appreciated.

Is that why you are cruising?  The shows?  Not the get away from everything at home and chill?  No beds to be made, no food to prepare or the cleanup?  Tropical sun hitting your face or body?  Time away to read that book you always wanted?

The full production shows is why you chose to cruise?

Yes, I am one of those who  choose to cruise partly because of the shows. I don't have the chance at home to see a production show, ice show, Aqua Theater show, live comedy show, etc. during a weeks time. I read at home and live in Florida so have the advantage of tropical sun almost every day. On board, I would certainly enjoy not having to make beds, cook and cleanup. While I understand why those shows were cancelled, I would be very bored every evening on board with no scheduled entertainment and would be disappointed had I found that out once onboard.

Lloyd555 and others.....thank you so much for all the shared pictures. Just finished reading all of posts as my husband and I are considering the March 18 sailing for our 50th wedding anniversary. I'm a cabin person and wondered what your thoughts are about the color scheme shown here. It's really primary with all of the blue and red..quite a departure from the muted grays, beiges of Sympnony which I loved. Do you think these are final colors? Also, do you think the cabin beds will be varied between the bath and balcony location as on other oasis ships?

The Captain onboard is Captain Costas. Captain Kate left around the end of September I believe. My guess is she will not be back onboard the Edge. I have seen photos of her at the shipyard with the Beyond.

Congrats on your 50th! We will be on board the Edge on 3/27/22.

Thank you so much for responding so quickly and your kind words on our upcoming 50th. My husband will be disappointed as he was really looking forward to meeting Captain Kate. Guess we may have to book Beyond once it makes it to Florida!  Sounds as if you are having a wonderful time....continue to enjoy!

I hope you don't mind me contributing to your trip report.

The captain just did his 10am daily report. He announced no reported cases or suspected cases of covid, and he will do a daily update of this status. Our next port of call is Roatan which requires a ship sponsored tour to disembark the ship.

I see you mentioned "the captain just did his 10am daily report". I guess that I assumed wrong that Captain Kate is still sailing the Edge. Is she on hiatus now or has already moved to oversee final preparations for captaining Beyond next April?  Wondering because my husband and I will be celebrating our 50th anniversary March 2022 and were hoping the book the Edge on March 20th with her as captain before she left for Beyond.

Have really enjoyed your live thread as well. I saw information in Celebrity Today that you posted that mentioned the Hot Glass Class. Do you know if it is a group class or an individual class that needs a reserved time? Also, is their an extra fee to participate since it sounds like you make something to take home with you?

Many thanks for any info you can provide.

After dinner, we lost a little bit in the casino. It started getting crowded so we ducked out.

Grabbed a couple of drinks and headed to the Celebrity Theater for the show. Tonight’s description was somewhat vague.

But we had our libations. Tonight was a Bailey’s and a White Russian (this was a new drink for me - it tasted like super boozy chocolate milk). So, you know, delicious.

    Ready for this mystery show!

This is not meant to be political at all, but does anyone else think Cruise Director Eddie Jenkins looks like Ron DeSantis’ brother?

Turns out the performer tonight played the xylophone.

    No seriously.

It’s apparently called a xylosynth, and it’s a cross between a xylophone and a synthesizer.

Guy was amazingly talented and obviously very very good at what he does. I think I just might not be a real xylophone fan.

Mark absolutely loved it though. The man won’t do an Abba singalong, but thinks xylophone guy is great. Figures.

David the xylophone guy did a bit with lasers that was pretty cool. I wasn’t supposed to take pictures though, so don’t tell!

    Ron Desantis' brother...absolutely on point.

  9. Just came back from a 4-day cruise on Mariner. Our cruise director was Marcelo. (sorry didn't get his last name).....definitely not Dan Whitley. Marcelo said he was leaving the ship on departure day , Jan 10 same as us.

He was OK, personable just talked way too much. Several shows were late starting because of his prolonged intros.

Has anyone used the British Colonial Hilton day pass before?  We was thinking about booking it through resort for a day and wonder if it was worth it?

How far is it from the cruise port and is it walkable?

I haven't used the day pass myself but have walked to the hotel from the cruise port to tour the hotel and beach area. The hotel is very nice. Even though the beach is small, if the day pass includes what you are looking for, go for it.

I didn't save them, but you can see them at a blocked site.

I'll post the links -- just remove the ???? and substitute the word blog in their place (if I post the actual link, it will get blocked here).

Thanks so much for the link. I can't seem to find the evening offerings for entertainment  on Day 2. Could a page be missing?

Does anyone know which of the Royal Caribbean ships now have these staterooms? Thank you

Mariner of the Seas out of Port Canaveral has many on Deck 12. Cabins  1864 and 1814 within that category are about triple the size of the other cabins in that category.

How do you determine if the onboard credit that you receive can be converted to cash. At times I have been told that if you don't use it while onboard,  you lose it. Other times we were able to get the cash from guest services or the casino.  Thanks

If one has a combination of OBC from the cruise line (non-refundable) and OBC from  TA and RCL Visa credit card (refundable), will the cruise line use the non-refundable OBC first for charges to the on-board account?
