  1. Thanks Tring. Makes sense. Although I have just looked at my predicted disembarkation time and it's 10.00 am?
  2. We do on P&O, but on Fred, do you really have to be off by 7.15. What would happen if you were later?
  3. Another question, can you self-disembark with Fred?
  4. I wouldn't know what to do with one. don't need all that hassle!
  5. Yep thought so. We used to sail our own boat and I am also a Watchkeeper for National Coastwatch, so usually know these things.
  6. She is now underway and not "restricted" and turning for SOU. My guess is a helicopter. She will make her way into the shipping lane.
  7. I wouldn't have thought so, because she could just reduced speed if too early.
  8. yes the wind is West NorthWest, so that may be why she is steaming in that direction.
  9. It could mean a few things. So for instance if a helicopter is over her (maybe) and she has to take a certain course, then she is restricted in her ability to manoevre. It warns other ships. Also, if it was a helicopter evacuation then the ship would have to steam into wind for the chopper. I'm guessing here, but have seen this before.
  10. Strange direction as she should be heading to Southampton.
  11. Could easily be emergency evacuation. Ah, just noticed she is "restricted in manoevrability". So something has happened.
  12. Quite happy to be in the terminal with a coffee and wait - or as you say, board early 🙂
  13. Thanks. Even on Aurora, although we had priority boarding and were fine, there was a huge queue outside of quite fed up people!!
  14. Just got our embarkation time and luggage labels for Bolette. It's 1400. Can anyone tell me what happens if we are an hour early Can you sit in the terminal, or do they make you wait outside like P&O do?
  15. I see on the Beeb that Eavesway were stuck on the M6 yesterday for 8 hours due to an oil spill and all those passengers have missed their cruise. Ship waited for 2 hours, but then had to leave. Feel sorry for all those affected. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/crg93g29rnlo?fbclid=IwAR3e0tkcNGgjpVTqupVBw35U1Q1X0EEL1t1KbJrsKFVugdA48_4Tbcy7d-Q
  16. We've got a private tour booked in Funchal - it's 75 euros, so your taxi sounds a bit steep!
  17. That's great. Not very far at all. Thanks.
  18. Hi, I've used them many times at Mayflower, but can't work out where the short stay is at City Cruise terminal?
  19. Sailing on Bolette at the beginning of April and it will be the City Cruise Terminal. We are with Parking4Cruises and I wonder if anyone has dropped off baggage and then driven to the short stay? We have only ever been from Mayflower, so I am unsure of where it is.
  20. An ordinary Aviva Travel insurance policy has an upper age limit of 74, that's why I was concerned, but as someone said, it would upset a lot of people who must be over that age, so we will see.
  21. Interesting because we booked on board last October for October 2024. The price was pretty good and there was £600 OBC just for an inside cabin. Or £500 OBC and free parking. I went for the latter. Pretty good deal.
  22. Yes, we took the train from Livorno. Long time ago. Can't remember much about it.
  23. I don't care a jot. I have £300 OBC on my next cruise. That will pay over half of our bar bill and then I get my 10% discount. Sounds good to me.
  24. Yes, 4 weeks was the longest we have done and I was climbing the walls by the last week. Just wanted to be home.
