I’m also not happy that I never even received an email or anything about the cancellation from British Airways. If I hadn’t been really looking, I wouldn’t have known until tomorrow or maybe even once we were in DC. Be vigilant, y’all.

I guess I’ll get tea time and fish and chips in Heathrow. 🙄

I had two flight options for London to Athens on the phone. I’m second guessing my choice. I took the later option. The first one only gave us 70 minutes from landing to plane change to take off. Any delays would have sunk that deal, but I want to get to Athens earlier. I know it was the smartest move. I’m just nitpicking because I liked the original itinerary best.

I canceled our dinner reservation for the 3rd. I messaged Hotel Thissio to see if Nick can still pick us up at the later time. I also made back up plans just in case that flight to Athens doesn’t take off. There really needs to be some kind of air reform. They yank you around and travelers make plans and they cancel however, whenever or they lose your bags, etc. (Steps off soapbox)

Let’s try this again. Flight check in this evening.

Flying is getting to be a real PITA these days. We are rebooked. Leaving DFW tomorrow night flying straight to London and then on to Athens. Instead of getting to Athens at 1:40pm on the 3rd, it will be 1:15am on the 4th. To say I’m unhappy is an understatement.

Wel this is going swimmingly… 🤦🏼‍♀️ Currently on hold with British Airways. I need a cocktail.

Then the app finally worked and got us plugged in. As suspected, we will both be in middle seats on the way to DC. 😆

My least favorite part about flying American… sometimes this happens. 🙄 so at 5:55pm DC time, I’ll have to manually check in with BA as well instead of AA doing it for me.

This doesn’t look promising for my check in. 30 minutes to get it fixed BA!

Got the middle to softball camp. Now running last minute errands. I’ll work for a few hours this afternoon and run by a bank to get the kids “power of medical” notarized.

Good morning! This time tomorrow, we will be on the road. DH made it home about 12:30am. I uploaded all 21,000 off my phone to a new cloud overnight. If you’ve followed along, you know I’m not big on trusting things especially technology. I hope the pictures are there and that they stay. Clouds are weird.

Yeah, NOPE! I got those suitcases for the girls 5 years ago. For gimmicky bags, they’ve lasted. They are easy to spot at baggage claims. Plus, the wheels light up when they roll. They get comments everywhere we go.

Alarms set. I have to remember to take the middle to softball clinic and to check in for the flights. I’m pretty sure we will be seated separately, in middle seats going to DC and to Athens, but I guess we will find out definitely tomorrow.

Kids are packed! I’m packed sans 3 things needed before departure Friday morning. 2 more white claws have been consumed, and DH is finally realizing we are going to Greece and not Italy. 🙄

In other developments, DH is on his way home from work. It’s about a 7 hour drive. He’ll get here, sleep and finish the few details he has left to do like hook up my bag tags to track.

Man! RIP cruise deals of early to mid 2022. I cruised so much I can’t even remember them all. 😆

Speaking of kids, this will be the longest time I’ve ever been away from them. With their crazy extracurriculars and school schedule, I would never leave all the spinning plates for longer than a week-ish. 8 day cruises have been pushing it. We’ve only taken one summer cruise and that was with the kids… Carnival Ecstasy (RIP) summer 2022. Not sure if I’d cruise other lines during the summer without them. I’m not a big fan of a ton of kids. Going kid free on a kid filled ship isn’t my idea of a good time. That’s why Virgin Voyages being adults only is perfect, summer time or anytime. 😉 EDIT: Just kidding. I just remembered we cruised kid free last summer as well on the Carnival Liberty for a B2B. There was a lot of kids, but we had Cheers so 🤷🏼‍♀️! 😆
