On this photo the sloth is going for a Billy Idol look and some of the other toys had their eye on the bedtime treats ("T" for treats can be my tenuous link).

When our son was little he had a toy dog and when we went on holiday (land-based in those days) he'd get pictures of him enjoying himself in various locations.  This tradition continued when we started cruising, even though he was too old for soft toys by then, and we had to get pictures of the little fella around the ship.

I completely missed T yesterday so I'll add a couple now - Thingvellir National Park in Iceland and Tunnels in Gibraltar, WW2 era.

Then U is for U-Boat pens in La Rochelle, its a shame these aren't open to the public and Upgrade - we were quite chuffed to get this on Arcadia as we'd only booked an inside cabin.

A few more for S, Sign showing where to see Suez Canal, Statue on the bank of Suez and the Sultan of Oman - that’s him on a billboard in Muscat apparently.

This is the first time I’ve looked today and there’s so many great S pics. Here’s a sandstorm in Abu Dhabi and a couple of sunsets, one from Norway and one in Southampton while waiting for Oriana to be fixed.

I've stuggled a bit for R's but have come up with another couple for 'Rock' and some for 'RO-RO', a few ferries someone's been sad enough to photograph!  

Can I also slip in a late P for Painting - I always liked this on Oceana for some reason and we joked that one day we'd steal it, guess we'll never need a coat big enough to stuff it under now....

I know what you mean, I once read somewhere that the enjoyment of an event is as much about the anticipation and recollection as the event itself and I’m not inclined to disagree. We should have been getting ready for a cruise on Iona in a couple of weeks but obviously that’s not happening and we’re almost certain our Caribbean TA at the end of March will be cancelled. Beyond that we’ve got a cruise booked next October which is a whole year away, I haven’t even bothered looking at next summer.

Our first and last (to date) cruises were on the same ship too, Ventura. It had occurred to me that there may be something slightly ominous about that, but I’m sure there’ll be more...

O is for Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark and Oasis. One’s a band, playing on Navigator of the Seas and the other is in the Omani desert. I don’t recall the name of the place but it was amazingly beautiful.

N is for Nab Tower at the eastern end of the Solent. Once we’re past this we feel we’re really on our way, although we’re actually closer to home here than we are in Southampton.

M for Merry Xmas Everybody! No, I haven’t gone all festive in September, this little chap lived on our cabin door on Aurora for 10 days last December. He’s motion activated and plays the Slade ‘classic’ if anyone walks past.  We did let him do his thing for a while but turned him off before he started annoying people. Plus he frightened the steward.

Mammoth in Marina Mall, Abu Dhabi. I don’t know how he got there but he’s provided some good alliteration 

A couple more Ls, Loppem Castle near Bruges and another of the Little Mermaid. It was a cold and wet Sunday afternoon in Copenhagen when we strolled up from the ship and there was virtually nobody else around, it was lovely!

And I did think Oceana looked nice bathed in pink!

Gruesome instruments of torture - must take the prize for the most imaginative initialisation so far!

G for gulls. Standing guard over Azura in Stavanger, a fine specimen in Porto, a brace in Gibraltar and a whole herd of them on a rooftop in Funchal.

I wasn’t going to bother with ‘Fjord’ as all the other Fs have been so impressive but here’s a couple anyway.

As the Fs have started here’s funnel, flags and football. The first 2 probably need no explanation, then it’s tours to Barcelona and Benfica stadiums and Champions on Aurora decked out for the 2018 World Cup.

A couple more elephants, one left by our steward and the other a rock we saw on a dolphin watching trip out of Muscat.  Although we saw lots of dolphins we failed to get any decent pictures, ours would be put to shame by the ones that have been shared on here.

Here’s another C - crater from the Golden Circle in Iceland. 
I’ll throw in a couple of Ds while I’m here: Destroyer - HMS Defender passing Oceana in the Solent and Dawn, at the entrance to the Suez Canal.

C for a coypu, a camel and Captain Sensible - possibly the first time the 3 have appeared together on a cruise forum...

The first 2 were on shore excursions in Tenerife and Salallah respectively, the Captain was playing on Navigator of the Seas during a 3 night 80s cruise.

We went there, it was very impressive and the bees are imported from Holland apparently. Ironic really as I can’t abide tomatoes....
