Next program and Solo Travellers
twangster replied to latebuyer's topic in Royal Caribbean International
NextCruise OBC will typically be reduced for a solo guest. It depends. As far as cruise fares, Nextcruise doesn't offer anything different from the website. Solo cruisers typically have to pay a 200% solo supplement. Some ships have studio cabins that offer a reduced fare for one guest. Cruisers with more than 340 points in the Crown and Anchor Society receive a reduced solo supplement on most sailings. No solo fare rules differences at NextCruise. -
Same with laundry but alas it is also per cruise over 5 nights.

Alaskan cruise need all the help I can get

Have you considered using a travel agent? Find one that can walk through all your preparation and who doesn't charge anything for their services. -

Using FCC on an existing booking
twangster replied to sean of the seas's topic in Royal Caribbean International
At this point it's best to apply FCC before final payment due date. Keep detailed records when you apply FCC. In some cases it's applied in a manner that can make tracking fares for price drops more challenging. In the event that something happens to the cruise that you applied the FCC towards you'll want to have detailed records of the FCC so you make sense of the numbers and their math in the future. Suggest you request a copy of the cruise invoice before applying the FCC and then request another invoice after the FCC has been applied. -

In most cases yes but you have to call or have your TA apply it. -

booking Coastal Kitchen on Ovation of the Seas

Reservations are made on board only. Go there first thing upon boarding. Junior suites do better on Quantum class for CK success compared to Oasis class but no one knows how busy it will be on your cruise. -

Navigator Incident in Mazatlan
twangster replied to AllAboardatSea's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I was disappointed to learn you don't solo double CAS points for nights spent in a lifeboat. Apparently since you aren't solo in the boat, single points only. -
There was food on my May Quantum cruise last year. On the day at the glacier they made a shop for Alaska stuff, hats, gloves, binoculars, etc. just outside of the Noodle venue.

Deployment 2024-25 booking season begins
twangster replied to Biker19's topic in Royal Caribbean International
The deck plans for Wonder have an area on deck 2 called "Boarding Area". Some people took that to mean tender area. I think it's just the area used at ports of call for getting on and off the ship. -

I love all the speculation 🙂 Going global could mean new international expansion. South America for example. It could also be a tease that ends up being something else completely. -
New Suite Deposits Effective June 1, 2023
twangster replied to Ken at the beach's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Royal's answer is that Voom is included for guests in Sky and Star class in the Royal Suites program. Older ships don't use the Royal Suites program, i.e. Sea, Sky, Star Class, so Voom is not included for any suite on the older ships. It's particularly egregious now that they have dramatically lowered internet costs by going to Starlink. Their ships, their rules. -
Choose the best itinerary. Look carefully at times in each port. Some had a late or short stop in Victoria, some spend more time there. Look at times in each of the other ports. Pay attention to arrival time and departure time.

Help needed - Lost license while on cruise

OP - once you are home and unpacked over the next few days if your DL is truly lost you may want to consider some credit monitoring service for the next year or two. A lost DL in the wrong hands could be used towards identity theft.
