  1. The problem with the chat feature of the Royal app is a matter of notifications not working reliably. If you are in the app watching for incoming texts you will see them but who sits there for hours watching an app to see if someone texted you? As far as Surf only packages that option has been rarely if ever available since they migrated ship to Starlink several months ago.
  2. Given that the terminal security contractors are not electrical engineers I'm going to predict this one gets yanked. Things with cords and outlets seem to cross a threshold with them.
  3. There was speculation it was one and done. It's not on Icon for example. So it's interesting they kept it for Utopia.
  4. Some features such as Bionic Bar are there to appeal to new to Royal cruisers. They look cool in TV ads. Since on a typical Caribbean cruise at least 50% of the ship are new to Royal that is their target audience. Purples slides and robots make for awesome looking features for someone who has never seen one before.
  5. I have an international travel adapter that includes 4 USB ports and plugs into a number of different international power outlets. It does pass through the 220v power to a regular looking 110v outlet BUT you must make sure that whatever you plug into that outlet can operate at 220v. This particular travel charger does not convert the 220v down to 110v. Most of my electronics are capable of operating at 220v. The ship hair dryer cannot operate at 220v so it can't be plugged into the travel adapter. This isn't the exact one I use but is very similar: https://www.amazon.com/EPICKA-Universal-Travel-Adapter-Power/dp/B078S3M2NX/ref=sr_1_5?crid=35PB52UCAF7LS&keywords=international+travel+adapter&qid=1685986838&sprefix=international+travel+%2Caps%2C109&sr=8-5 I also use it in hotels when traveling abroad.
  6. Nothing officially announced. While cruise ships are getting back to normal occupancy loads that hasn't erased billions of dollars of debt that was accumulated during the shutdown. That will take several years. They need to balance getting their debt under control with updating older ships.
  7. I suspect the Amazon market for Xbox users who also need a longer power cord is far greater than the market for CPAP users. So Amazon resellers advertise it as such. No one here can advise you on the machine in your family but if the end of the power cord looks the same it may be worth spending the money to find out.
  8. I wouldn't say she is not on a priority list. Adventure was the test ship that led the whole amplification program. She received her water slides and other updates before all the others. Izumi on the promenade for example, a suite lounge, new cabins, cabin updates, etc. She did not get a Playmakers but neither did Voyager who is officially amplified. She isn't considered "amplified" because her updates occured before the amplification program existed. She is 90% of the way there. They were going to officially amplify her but then the shutdown. Contrast Adventure to Explorer who also lost out on a planned amplification. Explorer recently had water slides added but not much more. Explorer is not nearly along the way to a complete amplification like Adventure is.
  9. Radiance has two 110v outlets plus two 220v power ports. This was in an interior cabin:
  10. The irony is that I have a battery pack that can power a laptop or medical equipment. It was picked to be compliant so I can fly with it so it's size and rating is legal to bring on a plane. I was going to come back and add to this thread but I'm not into rude posters so when I came back to add more comments I stopped and instead expanded my ignore list.
  11. If you took a second to think i did answer your question. But whatever, BLOCKED!!!!!
  12. When I go to a local bar there is no drink package. What am I missing? Why doesn't my local bar offer the same drink package that Princess does? Princess doesn't offer it's loyalty members 4, 5 or 6 free drinks per day. What are Captain's Circle members missing? Are they crazy? Why don't they complain to Princess about their deficient loyalty program? Seriously though, the game of cruising is all about finding the cruise that best suits you. That includes diving into the details. Princess has faster internet even with Royal adopting Starlink. If fast internet is your most important item then don't book Royal. Find what works for you and go with it. If you choose to sail many different lines you need to learn to adapt to each lines pros and cons.
  13. Or just buy a power cord for your unit that is 15' long. https://www.amazon.com/Compatible-Samsung-Toshiba-Insignia-Replacement/dp/B0919NKXN2/ref=sr_1_8?crid=3SSINSPHL3W9Q&keywords=long+power+cord&qid=1685828864&sprefix=long+power+cor%2Caps%2C115&sr=8-8 This one is 15' long and it's not an extension cord. It is a power cord.
  14. Every year people say the same thing and every year Royal releases in the fall. 🤷‍♂️
  15. I stay in the forward area where there is no overhang on deck 13. It's only an overhang in the middle area.
  16. CAS Worker 1: "Where do you feel like going this week?" CAS Worker 2: "How about Alaska?" CAS Worker 3: "We did Alaska 2 weeks ago" CAS Worker 1: "I want to go to Europe" CAS Workers 2 & 3: "You always want to go to Europe" CAS Supervisor: "Enough. We only have 300 hats left. Find a ship with only 300 CAS members on board". CAS Workers 1,2 & 3: "Ummm"
  17. They could still do that. A 2 night media event early January so he keeps his word, then sail to America for a few media events before entering service.
  18. My spreadsheet reports since becoming Pinnacle I'm 5% interior, 0% Oceanview, 70% Balcony and 25% suites. On the cruise to achieving Pinnacle I was 25% interior, 17% oceanview, 28% balcony and 30% suites. My suite booking trend has stayed nearly consistent before and after Pinnacle (25% - 30%). I might book some JS tonight to get in before the deposit change. That will bring my suite booking trend gap closer. I recently sailed on Radiance in an interior. My last interior was forty one cruises ago. There are folks at every level who only sail in __________ cabins. Why is it notable that this statement includes some Pinnacles? Their money, let them spend it as they see fit. After spending six figures to reach Pinnacle it's a wonder I have money to cruise.
  19. Interesting venues. Pesky Parrot Pool Side Food Truck Cantina Fresca Immersive Dining Experience Izumi in the Park Giovanni's Kitchen (in place of Wonderland) Mason Jar
  20. NextCruise OBC will typically be reduced for a solo guest. It depends. As far as cruise fares, Nextcruise doesn't offer anything different from the website. Solo cruisers typically have to pay a 200% solo supplement. Some ships have studio cabins that offer a reduced fare for one guest. Cruisers with more than 340 points in the Crown and Anchor Society receive a reduced solo supplement on most sailings. No solo fare rules differences at NextCruise.
  21. Same with laundry but alas it is also per cruise over 5 nights.
