  1. I do sometimes wonder about the planning for where they put some of these cruise ships, but I do think part of the issue is that hardly any cruise ships handle the volume of passengers well in cold weather conditions, when everyone wants to be inside. I think this may have been a big part of the issue with Prima this summer/autumn as I’m sure there have been limited people utilising the outside spaces because of the outside conditons.
  2. This has come down another £375pp again today. A great deal for a 2-bed? £4,435 (c.$5,633) for 2 people £4,817 (c.$6,118) for 4 people, or £109.50 a night (c.$139 per night) !
  3. I would imagine the prices people may see these spirits cost are actually a lot more than reality. Someone mentioned the Macallam Enigma as $700 a bottle. I can order it in the U.K. for £220, which is about $280, and that’s with some hefty taxes here in the U.K. wouldn’t surprise me if they are able to get it without tax for $200 or less.
  4. Are you saying if you drank a whole bottle a day, it would be cheaper than buying the bottle at home? Theoretically you could drink a bottles worth a day, though it’s about 17-18 1.5oz servings?
  5. Small point, isn’t it 100 shares? Seems a bit high otherwise? 😊
  6. I think the key to getting the best deal isn’t about where to buy it, it’s more about when. From my experience the best bargains are to be had with very late deals, normally a few weeks/a month before sailing. You will unfortunately also find that the best late deals are likely to be for off peak sailings, which understand you are limited on. yes there are schemes where you can get it cheaper, such as Casino at Sea but as I understand these can be somewhat restricted and limited, and I don’t think it will necessarily be a pathway to the best Haven Suite deals ? ultimately I think you last statement will make it difficult for you due to your lack of flexibility, as to get the best deals you need to be flexible and be able to travel at relatively short notice.
  7. Yes exactly that it could be a variable amount if 1, 3 , 4 people in a cabin. I’m simply quoting the way that NCL quotes this as standard as it’s what I had the historic screenshots of, and the primary purpose was to show how the prices had consistently dropped in quite a short period of time. 😊
  8. yes, I hadn’t recorded the price for two people as that wasn’t how they are initially quoted by NCL. Appreciate that for solos can can sometimes be double or maybe somewhere between 1x and 2x, but I hadn’t searched for those when I did this, so only have the standard price per person based on 2 sharing 😊
  9. Yup, I actually had a spreadsheet for my cruise coming up in a couple of weeks, where I tracked the availability of the Haven cabins 😂🙈
  10. I think you are right about having to act quick, but it’s alsowaiting out as long as possible and then jumping at the “right” time. I’d been tracking the Courtyard Haven in Getaway 1st October sailing, here’s an example of how I saw the prices fall over the last few weeks: 28th July £2,601 1st Aug £2,497 8th Aug £2,263 15th Aug £2,049 16th Aug £1,955 22nd Aug £1,765 29th Aug £1,675 i think this has not been one of the most popular cruises as it’s going to be a relative cool weather cruise, so I guess you probably can’t make the most of the outside decks, and being Getaway, the Haven doesn’t have a covered Courtyard. But it’s been surprising to see how the prices have fallen so consistently. My guess is if you had looked a year ago, you’d have been quoted £5,000 or more
  11. Unusual as ours usually come out more than booking from US, maybe Canada is different? do they include flights or is that the standard cruise only package? Wondering if any difference as these are sailing from U.K.?
  12. I’m curious how the NCL US prices compared to the U.K. For 1st Oct sailing on Getaway, they have a Haven Courtyard for £2,595, how much does it show for US residents on NCL in $ ?
  13. There have been some good deals out of Southampton on Getaway. I managed to nab 16 night in courtyard for £2,399pp including free at sea costs (I think you guys in the US still pay gratuities on FAS, is this the same when you book Haven? In the U.K. we pay a set fee for FAS, but it’s included for a haven bookings) My MIL is on the cruise after a couple of days ago the last few cabins for 1st October (11 night) sailing were £1,675pp for a courtyard. They gone though 2-Bed are left for £2,595pp
  14. We are on a similarly long cruise from Southampton (16 nights) in a few weeks and I asked a similar question about this recently. A few people suggested that on longer cruises they’ve seen NCL put on a nightly special in the Haven restaurant. I guess we will find out soon 😊
  15. Just a thought. Didn’t manage to go to the Noodle bar on our last trip on NCL Breakway as was too busy. Would I be right in thinking it would be possible to order from here to our room? I guess we don’t have a proper table as in a Courtyard cabin, but assume we could make it work?
  16. Many thanks. my better half is partial to an Iced coffee, so I guess I could ask for some milk and the ice to make with the Nespresso. 😊
  17. Sorry for response much after the time, but we’ve just managed to get our upgrade to Haven. 😊 can you order this ad hoc on the morning, or would you need to order it the night before for a set time?
  18. We will be on Getaway, so not sure they have an observation lounge? also slight shame that we are in Northern Europe and Iceland so will be cooler weather and understand the Getaway is the only Breakaway class ship without the covered Haven area. Hoping to get a few days we will be able to use towards the start of the cruise. 😊
  19. I’m cool with that, have sailed multiple cruises lines and many cruises, but never sailed in Suite class before. However, I’m a regular cruise nerd and regularly read a lot of posts and all sorts of things. We are easy to please and will undoubtedly be pretty low maintenance 😊 We are perfectly happy normally in an ocean view cabin or standard balcony and are easy going, so pretty relaxed about expectations 😊
  20. Have been asking a few questions as I got my MIL&FIL booked on Haven on Getaway later this year. Been keeping an eye on my own cruise (we go on the cruise before them), as prices have been falling and I’ve just been able to upgrade our own Cabin to Haven Courtyard for our cruise 😃😃🎉 The crazy thing is we booked in January originally in and Ocean View and we’ve only ended up paying $200pp more than our original OV booking! I think at the time the price for Haven Courtyard was about 2.5-3x higher! We had upgraded a couple of times to Family OV then a club balcony, then got a re-price just before final payment, but prices have kept falling, and will be excited to try Haven for the first time 😊
  21. Thanks all. I’ve booked them (MIL & FIL) to be near the entrance on deck 16 😊
  22. I was thinking towards the entrance of haven as a preference too. It’s not too clear from the deck plans and the videoed I’ve seen where the entrances to Haven areas are from the cabins. Is there like a corridor and you return to the front to acces Lounge etc? Or is there multiple places from the cabins to access the haven public areas?
  23. Looking at booking a Haven Courtyard, but interested in peoples opinion on the best location on NCL Getaway? Is it any better to be on deck 15 or 16? logically I thought maybe 16 as everything is on that floor but any pros or cons?
  24. I think it’s different in the US, but in the U.K. we don’t pay for the gratuities in the elements. We pay a flat fee for all the FAS, and if you book Haven all are included automatically with as part of the Haven fare. it start at £149pp and for example out 16 night trip is £299pp for all the promotions. We can’t pick and choose, it’s all or nothing.
