  1. Princess usually does not make ship-wide announcements. \ The paper that had your luggage tags also had meeting places listed for each tag. It is at those locations that the announcements for the tags assigned to that venue are made.
  2. It will come in a plain white envelope from another company that Princess uses to process the refund. It might mention Princess on the envelope. It might appear to be junk mail, so be sure to look for it and not accidentally throw it away.
  3. All those fancy cakes may be destined for the buffet today as usually there is a fancy dessert presentation (for eating) at the buffet on the last sea day.
  4. Deck 6 has a galley between the aft dining room and the one near the atrium. That is why one must go up to deck 7 from deck 6 to get to the other deck 6 dining room.
  5. Sometimes it is 6 inches. Other times it is a normal table separation.
  6. It is worth going to even if you have to stand for the entire event.
  7. From the Princess web site: Top-Deck pizza by the slice It’s the “Best Pizza at Sea” says USA TODAY and we couldn’t agree more. Harkening back to our Italian heritage, our Neapolitan-style pizza is hand-tossed and freshly baked right on deck. From traditional margherita and pepperoni to the daily specials, you’ll find it nearly impossible to pass by without grabbing a slice – or two. (I wonder if they also say Room Service Pizza is the Best Pizza at sea".)
  8. I think that refers to the pizza on the pool deck (now called slice), not Alfredo's. Princess made this claim long before they had their first Alfredo's.
  9. I am interested in how you compare the two experiences. Which one do you feel was better>
  10. That probably includes loading and unloading time. With the use of local boats that can hold hundreds of people, it takes longer to fill up before starting the journey back to the ship.
  11. Yes, your picture and cabin number are displayed to the bartender. But so are the pictures and cabin numbers of other people near the bartender. So he/she asks for your room number to be sure that the drink is placed on the correct person's account. There have been many posts on Cruise Critic about charges that should not have been placed on their accounts. I suspect most of those wrong charges came from staff not correctly recognizing which picture belongs to the customer, thus the question about cabin number. It is not just bartenders, also happens everywhere you make a purchase as well as at the Customer Service counter. They are trained to ask even if you are the only person there. This is so they do not forget to ask when they really need to.
  12. Don't know about the Regal (but it should be listed on the Patter for that day), but on other ships this year the event has been between 6:30 and 7:30 PM on the first formal evening. Usually the Captain speaks mid-way through that hour.
  13. Right, anybody can get in a (usually) short line to pour a little into the fountain. Ship photographers take a photo of each person in hopes of selling photos. Not real Champaign, but inexpensive sparkling wine. Waitstaff walk around with free glasses of sparkling wine. Part of the event is a welcome aboard speech by the Captain along with the introduction of the top ship officers from Staff Captain to CD to Medical Doctor to Head Chef and more.
  14. This is so they can prepare your luggage tags for the end of the cruise and assign a disembarkation time and location. The tags and the disembarkation information will be delivered to your cabin about 2 days before the end of the cruise.
  15. The $39 looks like the charge for when you ate at a specialty restraurant.
  16. Pens and writing pads were removed because of Covid concerns. You can get pen(s) at the customer service desk at no charge.
  17. Seems to work differently on different Princess ships: a) Island Princess - - When turned on by sensor, turns in 30 seconds. When turned on by switch, stays on until switch is used to turn it off. b) Caribbean Princess -- Cannot turn on/off with a switch. When turned on by sensor, turns in 30 seconds. c) Regal Princess: Whether turned on with switch or sensor, turns off automatically.
  18. Ask. Often at least the French toast is available even if not on that day's menu. A breakfast sandwich is available at the International Cafe. Waffles and pancakes are available at the breakfast buffet.
  19. Staff can locate you no matter what you select with that button. Passengers not in your booking cannot locate you without your permission, so using that button is not necessary. Those in your booking can locate you unless you use that button.
  20. Back when there was a four page Patter, these were announced with contact information on day 1.
  21. Or Bravo was he only one scheduled for this 5-day cruise. Since Bravo requires a guest soprano, that was already pre-scheduled. The question is whether the comedian for two nights in a row has one of those nights as a substitute for a 2nd production show.
