Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Yes, I noticed this, but I know this perk wasn’t available to KEY guests on a recent Symphony or Freedom cruise.
  2. Thanks for your reply, I thought so since they now offer those private times for Key passengers.
  3. Just after cruises restarted after Covid, while doing the water slides, a family kept bypassing the busy lines for the water slides by mentioning to the attendants that they had the “key”. We were unable to purchase it now that we were on the ship, so for our next cruise we purchased the Key as we felt this was a major benefit for our family. On the next cruise, it worked great and we were able skip the long lines, although we did feel a little guilty, but again, the attendant said it was a benefit. That being said, I don’t see this listed anymore and since we haven’t purchased the key in a while, is this still a benefit? It was a great perk, but I can absolutely understand them removing this benefit, as I understand the “entitlement issues” in the world today can create some uncomfortable moments and upset people. Thank you.
  4. Do all ships have this benefit for Diamond Plus and up, Suite guests, and Key passengers? If so, how early do we need to arrive before they open the area up for all others? Thank you.
  5. Above statement about “all sailings” is not true. Yes, some sailings are D+ and higher, but it depends on the number of D+ and higher guests that particular sailing has. We have been on a couple cruises within past 60 days, and Diamonds were allowed in as others in this thread have stated. Again, it all depends on how many D+ and Pinnacles are on board.
  6. With prices on the Icon being what they are, what is the best way to find available “group rates”. I know recommendations of agents is prohibited on this site and I’m not asking for that. Dates aren’t that important to us, we are pretty flexible. I have checked with our agent and he doesn’t have any group rates on any weeks for the Icon. Any advice or suggestions please. Thank you!
  7. I know I should have known better, after all, we will be Diamond Plus after this sailing, but I made a huge mistake. We are cruising mid January 2024 during NFL playoffs, and I just assumed Liberty had a Playmakers, as we have been on the Freedom a few times and would spend some time there in the evenings watching the games and getting the Campfire cookie for my daughter. We also enjoyed playing foosball and table shuffle board there as well. I also have read reviews that Liberty’s giant screen by the pool has been broken for a while. What areas on the ship will show the games besides the Schooner Bar and Casino will show the games. Another fail is that the Liberty doesn’t have Izumi and we have always done Hibachi on our RCCL cruises. Just out of curiosity and knowing how popular all Izumi’s are, why doesn’t Liberty have one. Lastly, was Liberty recently refurbished? Having recently come back from the Wonder and Symphony, where we spent visited Playmakers and Izumi often, does Liberty plan on getting these venues anytime soon. I think it’s safe to say that I will be relinquishing my cruise planning duties and giving them back to my husband!! Haha!! Thanks all and I know these are all minor problems and we will all still have a great time, as long as it’s not 50 mph winds and 50 degrees like it was one weekend last January!😀
  8. We just came off Symphony yesterday and indeed, the large whole lobster is not offered any longer. When the lobster arrived this time, it was exactly as the OP described. We had looked forward to the one we had had last year on the Symphony at Hooked and had 2 dates booked. We cancelled the 2nd reservation. Manager came over and I showed him a photo of our whole Maine lobster that we received last year and expressed my disappointment. He stated that they no monger offer it as they received too many complaints with the whole large lobster. We actually went 2x last cruise because it was so good, and they sold out of them before the cruise ended. Not sure I believe him. We love Royal, but this has to be another cost cutting initiative. Very disappointing as costs continue to climb. Not upset that costs are increasing as long as they don’t cheapen the experience.
  9. We will be in Curaçao the end of November on Royal Caribbean from 8:00-6:00 PM. I know it’s hard to say, but will it be the same time in Curaçao or an hour earlier than ship’s time. I think I remember last time there, ship’s arrival time was 8:00 AM, but curaçao’s time was 7:00 AM. Thank you.
  10. Just returned from the Escape and we had the P+. Veuve only available at Le Bistro, and Pommery not available anywhere. P+ champagne is now a rose champagne called Le Kool, supposedly made by the guys from Kool and the Gang. Can’t find much about it online, but it was not great…….
  11. Hello. Our check in time next week is 9:30 AM. What time do they open the doors for check in and what time do they actually start the process of getting on the ship. Also, is best place to make dinner reservations still across from Le Bistro by Comedy Club? It’s been a while since we’ve cruised NCL. Thanks everyone so much!
  12. We have on the Bliss, Encore, Escape, Getaway, and Breakaway. I remember the Bliss and Encore having Laser Tag but can’t remember if the Escape offers it, I know RCL offers it on all ships that we have been on, just can’t remember NCL. We are on the Escape next week and kids were asking. Thanks!
  13. I’ve tried Google and the search function on these boards, but couldn’t really find the answer I was looking for. Does anyone know when the Escape will be getting refurbished? I know it drydocked for mechanical repairs last year, but don’t think any major refurbishing was done. Thanks!
  14. On a previous cruise, I remember an arcade discount. If you purchased $50, you received a $25 extra arcade credit. Is this benefit still being offered, I can’t seem to locate it on their website. Thanks in advance!
  15. I just read an articulate from The Street that I saw on Yahoo and was confirmed on a RCCL Blog. It mentioned that in a trial only on SOTS, there was a change to the MDR menu that would not include the “Classics”, like escargot, etc. It also mentioned that on the 2nd formal night, each lobster after the 1st one would be a $16.99 plus 18% gratuity. I know a upgraded steak and lobster were always available for an extra surcharge nightly. On our past cruises, we have been doing the Unlimited Dining and only specialty, but I have been missing the escargot and our kids have decided no more specialty dining every night, as it’s a buzz kill for them! Has anyone been on the Symphony recently that can confirm this. I checked the app just now as we leave this Saturday and it no longer shows the classics every night. Royal did say they were monitoring and would gather feedback! Thanks
