Thanks Laszlo, that's the information I was looking for when I read the thread.

If our flight cooperates we've put it on the list. Thanks for all the advice.

Juneau is Whale Watch but I don't think the Glacier. Skagway is train, DH wanted to go to Yukon. Ketchikan is Bear Country and Victoria I think we are taking a tram/trolley or something and then walk around.
BTW we are from Nebraska.

First cruise and first visit to Alaska, Signed up for excursion each port day I may only get there once I and I want to see as much as I can. I hope to see whales and DH is hoping for bears.
-
From what I understand it could be as close as 2 days before. 1st cruise so going by what I've read here in upgrade thread.

" the three staircases are coded: With different colors on the carpet, as well as different artwork "
Could someone elaborate about the stairs?

Thanks for the advice.
Depending on whether we arrive on time we may decide to do the market Sat afternoon and since Chihuly garden is open Sun morning and by hotel, may walk there on Sun and then get shuttle from hotel to pier. I do like the dropping him at market and do the bags myself option so we'll have to see how it goes.

You've made me really glad we are flying in day before (at least I hope we do.) On the Pearl in 3 weeks, can't wait to rest about your trip.

We didn't get the SDP as a perk and decided that wasn't where we wanted to spend our money so am not buying. I did see that I could get Moderno on its own so that's going to be our splurge. We can get Italian and steaks (home of Omaha steaks) at home but nothing like what the Moderno has. Since we are cruising (our first) for the location and not the food, we'll splurge on one meal and do O'Sheehan and MDR and buffet the rest of the time. And spend our money on excursions which I'm getting really excited about.
I really appreciate Cruise Critic and all the help the experienced cruisers share.

Something to take into consideration for sure.

Thanks for the info, I was hoping that was the case. Now if everything works the way it is supposed to and we arrive on time, I know it's worth making the effort.

Thank you so much. I'm not a pineapple fan but hubby loves it.

I would love to visit Chihuly Garden but found out that Glasshouse will be closed the only day we could go. How much are we missing with the glasshouse closed and is it still worth going?

On NCL Pearl (Pier 66) Alaska mid August. Is it possible to check our bags with the porter (how early?) leave, browse the Market then return and do check-in / security stuff with carry on bag 2-3 hours later? DH does not have a lot of patience with lines so think late boarding would be better and since we will only have 1/2 day Sat (if we are really lucky and no travel delays) I was hoping to be able to explore Seattle Center area Sat and Market on Sunday.
Thanks

If you have eaten at Moderno on NCL Pearl, can you confirm for me that roasted (or grilled not sure which, served on a skewer) pineapple is one of the things they serve? DH had it at a restaurant in Mexico that did the meat skewer thing and loved the whole experience but especially the pineapple. Am planning on making the reservations before we sail in august as a surprise for him. The pineapple thing would, I'm sure, earn me a few extra brownie points.

Thanks for all the CPAP advice. DH no longer uses humidifier, so that helps.
-
Thanks for answer, I was hoping not to have to carry, hubby plans on swimming so I'll be doing the toting and keeping track.
-
First time on cruise. Can CPAP, in case, be checked at embarkation to be taken to room or will we need to, or should we, keep it with us til we can get to room? I guess I'm asking, what are the chances it won't be in room when DH needs it to sleep the first night?
Thanks
NCL Pearl in August.
Times to get on & off the boat for smoothest embarkation/disembarkation in Seattle?

DH is worried about gaining weight from all the food but I've told him it shouldn't be a problem I just won't tell him where the elevators are. 😊 So it will be stairs for us also.
