Returned Form My B-3-B On The Harmony
OCSC Mike replied to JamesEM's topic in Royal Caribbean International
It is leaving from Miami next month, no need to call. The above posts were dealing with November. Harmony is leaving Miami for Galveston sometime after your cruise and eventually returning. -

That's my problem... I have a hard time being brief, especially with trip reviews. -

I'll have a review of some sort for sure and it will be food-centric I'm sure. Would like to do a semi-live report but really not sure I'd have the time with it being an extended family cruise. Not ruling it out until we're on board though. If Sunday night winds down and I feel like I can post some stuff, maybe a nightly recap. Who knows? -

Salad is way too healthy for me, lol, but I hear ya and that's disappointing. Since I haven't sailed since October, I'm withholding all food-related judgment until next week when I experience it for myself. -
The Key benefits after day 1
OCSC Mike replied to momof3cruisers's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Makes sense, everyone has their preferences and routines. I don't even eat breakfast on embarkation day (just coffee) in anticipation of how much I will eat on the cruise, lol. -
I get your general point and 9am is too early. But there's a reason to be there earlier than 10:30 if you have a 10:30 check-in time. It takes time to drop off luggage (if you can't just park and wheel down minimal luggage) then go park in the garage and get back down to actually check-in. We've always had a a 10:30 check-in time and tend to arrive around 10:00. It's been very smooth in the past but obviously things can and do change. Haven't sailed since October but will be there on Wonder this Sunday.

The Key benefits after day 1

I'm usually one of the first people into the WJ on embarkation day and have no problem with it. Everyone has their own tolerance and definition for "crowded" but it doesn't seem overly crowded to me until some time passes and more people board, figure out where they're going, etc. Similar to why you went later, it's really just the peak times that are extremely crowded in my experience. -

That's how we felt (about the food at least, our servers were usually great) but we didn't mind b/c my wife is picky and would wind up with the standby caesar salad & chicken too often and I like to eat so WJ and other venues always worked better for us anyway. -
1. Your check-in time may or may not be enforced. They assign you a time for a reason. If you choose to ignore it & have to sit there for 2 hours, don’t complain. 2. Everyone’s sea pass card is at their cabin door as stated. 3. Your set sail pass is what you find in the app and/or print to use for boarding. That’s what you use until you get your sea pass card when cabins are available around 2:00. Hope that helps.

Open the app, go to the right tab with the little person icon, click on "select a different cruise", choose a ship, choose the current sailing. Not only will you see their menus but you can see the entire schedule of activities, shows, etc., as if you were on that sailing.

Solarium Bistro charging for dinner?
OCSC Mike replied to xps15z's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I assume that means you liked it? My wife is too picky for that menu, unfortunately. I enjoyed it. I got her to eat there with me once a long time ago with the caveat that we eat on the early side so we could go to WJ after, lol (which was also fine with me given how much I eat on cruises). Everyone should try it once, IMO, given that it's free and different... unless you're like my wife and 99% sure it isn't for you. -
Solarium Bistro charging for dinner?
OCSC Mike replied to xps15z's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Yes, they just can't hang out/lounge in the actual Solarium. They can pass through to eat, get to elevators on some ships, etc. -
Diamond drinks on departure day
OCSC Mike replied to superduper123's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Unless it is broken it is most definitely available. That's my favorite perk after the 4 drink vouchers. -

It varies. "Everyone" doesn't know what they are talking about. Check-in is a firm 45-days out. I couldn't reserve shows until 30 days out for Wonder cruise this Sunday. Just keep checking. It should be soon. -
Yes.

Not to me. There is preferred seating for suite guests as well but we chose to sit elsewhere at almost every show last suite cruise. That was also my only suite ever and never once have I thought "I wish I could sit there" on my other cruises. -

Galveston is 2023 Miami is 2024 You're both right. 🤣 -
They're a steal compared to anything out of PC, lol.
-
Other than elevator vs. stairs (I'm lazy but I hate waiting for crowded elevators), you kinda just described my typical cruise M.O. 🙈 Perhaps that's why I need the Diurex. 🤣
-
They don't use ice cream on the ships but it's still frozen, chocolatey goodness.
-
Holy crap, it's actually a thing. (Yes, I have too much free time.) What is a funeral cake? Technically, funeral cake is a chocolate sheet cake with fudge icing and topped with crunchy pecans and big enough to feed a crowd. When brought to a funeral, though, its' true nature is revealed, as it transforms into a dessert that is pure Southern comfort, which is one thing that everyone needs at a funeral.

Can you no longer do free courtesy holds?
OCSC Mike replied to latebuyer's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Agreed. I remember courtesy holds in the past when booking myself & TA’s can place them for far longer than 24 hours.
