  1. Weird, PC is the only port I use since it's only an hour drive for me and it has always gone extremely smoothly, even during covid protocols. Pull into the Terminal 1 garage a little before 10:00, tons of parking, wheel our two suitcases to the porters (always friendly), breeze through the check-in, on the ship as soon as they get to Diamond (or earlier if I'm being treated to a suite).
  2. No app needed to use the internet. You still just open a browser and if you're not automatically taken there you type in login or icafe or whatever that page is that we're both thinking of.
  3. It's only the RC app that wouldn't work. Biker wasn't saying tablets can't be used to connect to the ship internet at all.
  4. An entire family can watch it together on one device and you can even have your entire party checked in from one device. For example, when my extended family of 8 (3 families, 3 cabins) goes to check in at muster, I will scroll through all 8 of our set sail passes as we are linked so I have them all on my phone. It speeds things along.
  5. Not really, as mentioned above, but unless you have a reason to both NOT download it, might as well.
  6. If I don't overeat on a cruise, I've done something wrong. 🤣
  7. The prices are still mostly terrible but it looks like the new schedule may be to update the flier on Sundays as the sale now runs TUE-WED.
  8. Glad it worked out. We're rarely in suites (2nd time ever in 2 weeks) but did make reservations for everything last time. Then we had a weird glitch with the app where our adult comedy reservations magically moved themselves to a different night that didn't work for us. The SL concierge never could get the app to reflect the change he made but also told us "I'll walk you down there right into the show if I have to." It wasn't an issue in the end. As an aside, it was my job to make reservation for this upcoming family cruise involving ages 9-70+. I didn't mind as I'm obviously computer literate and familiar with most things related to RC but still felt some pressure to puzzle everything together, lol. All I had to go on was "we want to eat in CK around 6pm every night" so I did my best to not make too many late reservations but ended up telling everyone I did my best, you'll just have to stay up a bit later on a couple nights.
  9. Agreed, I just like to make sure posters who seem upset and/or panicked about not having reservations know that they will very likely get to see everything via the standby line if need be.
  10. Or you can donate $10 to the RC debt fund and buy a snazzy WOW band. 😁 But yes, obviously you do still need the card.
  11. You aren't kidding! While waiting in the Star Lounge on Indy during our B2B turnaround day in July, they VERY RELUCTANTLY let my wife use the bathroom just outside the lounge. 🤣
  12. You don't really NEED reservations, Key or not.. There is a standby line for every show and you'll have no problem getting into everything... except maybe the adult comedy b/c the venue is pretty small.
  13. Never seen them let you stay on the ship that late. I have boarded by 10:30am before.
  14. Yes, there are. For future reference, you can find this info for any ship in the app.
  15. Same thing here in Orlando. Doesn't even take anything remotely close to a hurricane. Multiple channels have come up with their own "official" name for days when bad t-storms are expected (which is obviously quite often, lol). "It's a FOX35 WEATHER ALERT DAY!" What makes it even worse here (might be similar down there) is that our local affiliates cover such a giant geographic area, the entire width of the state from coast-to-coast and from up in Ocala down to far South of Orlando that half the time the weather alerts don't even apply. The storms could easily be 50 miles away from where you personally live. Apologies for extending the tangent.
  16. Wife and I used to do "First Night Done Right" back when it was offered. BOGO for anyone on the first night (not sure how or if it worked for solo cruisers). We've missed it. One of the reasons we're looking forward to D+.
  17. OP made a mistake, it's not listed as Southern (not that the naming should matter).
  18. I had this suspicion but was too lazy to check. That said, no biggie, the advice given to the OP is still valid.
  19. Unfortunately there may be a lot of things that fall into that category (including some previous cruise fare sales, like GGG). The baseline for many things is just higher now and we have to adjust. That said, all you can do is check frequently.
  20. I read multiple posts stating exactly the 1st, not around the 1st, both here and on another popular forum. I don’t really care, but why are you trying to tell me what I read? I know what I read. You may have read something else; I wouldn’t know.
  21. Good advice in all the posts above, IMO. I'm assuming Harmony from Galveston is cheaper, especially if you can drive, so I'd go with that. I don't think the ship will matter (they're very similar) and 9 year olds will likely have a great time no matter the ports. If firefly's suggestion to do CocoCay from Galveston another time works, even better.
  22. We hardly ever eat in the MDR anyway but I still request a table for 2 for traditional early seating and have never been denied. If you don't want to eat with others (I wouldn't either) just request a 2-top.
