CocoCay, More, Less, or Just Right?
OCSC Mike replied to Ret MP's topic in Royal Caribbean International
And (as you already know) that's why I like CocoCay. If I didn't like the food, it might as well be Labadee to me. We'll be on Labadee in 2 weeks and may not get off the ship. Food is subjective and not everyone likes the beach/pool. These are mostly just personal preference differences, IMO. Although in the case of Labadee, I'm not sure anyone has mentioned liking the food there. -
Will there be black friday drinks package offers?

Yes and yes. -
Transferred a booking this year? If so - Questions!
OCSC Mike replied to mlbcruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean International
This. I switched TA’s earlier this year. Old one was great, did nothing wrong, had group rates & OBC. Never would have switched but the new one is just can’t be matched in terms of availability (still figuring out when he sleeps) & has a little extra in the way of perks. I had 2 cruises booked with the old TA & priced them with the new one while I was switching just to make sure there wasn’t a huge difference. Prices were nearly identical, new TA could have gotten me a tiny bit more OBC, but I didn’t even think of transferring for the reason you mentioned. -
There used to be. Brunch was only $21.99 pre-cruise ($24.99 onboard) and then they raised the price by quite a bit. By dumb luck, I have one more brunch booked for March at the old price. All you can do is ask but I wouldn't risk it if a "no" would ruin the meal for your stepdaughter. Giovanni's Table has always been our favorite restaurant and they used to have a fried calamari app on the lunch menu but not dinner (we always had dinner there). I was almost always able to get the calamari at dinner but at some point they said "sorry, we can't." Silver lining is it made me order a different app which I liked a lot. Double silver lining is now they have calamari on the dinner menu so I'll be getting both in 2 weeks on Allure. One last note on Mason Jar if you didn't notice... 2 nights per cruise they have a limited late night snack menu that's a la carte and fried green tomatoes are on it. We meant to stop by to try a couple things but never did.

Changes to RCL stops in Labadee

Hey, there's my hijacked part asking about the lousy food and what to do or not do there. 🤣 -
Coastal Kitchen - explain what is so great

Yeah, casualty of covid I think. As long as it tastes good & they bring a 2nd bowl after I finish the 1st one, I’ll live. -
Icon of the Seas Blocks Are In The House!
OCSC Mike replied to Lloyd555's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I’ll survive either way. I mostly sail for the ship, just not personally interested in much of what’s new on Icon Class & definitely not interested in the prices. I’d sail Utopia B2B if future prices come down a bit. In the meantime, I’ll mostly be on Wonder. -

It’s still great but not made table side anymore. -

If Saturday means an Oasis class still does Sundays, OK. Otherwise we have conflicting wishes. I have zero desire for Star or Icon to come here (although I’m sure one will in the near future even if Star doesn’t start out at PC). -
In our GS on Wonder there was a card on the bed offering 3 different pillows (something like foam, goose down, something else). We had no idea which of the 3 were already on the bed but they felt comfy so we just slept on those. I appreciated being treated to a GS and greatly enjoyed the perks like CK, SL, suite sun deck, etc. but overly luxurious pillows were a bit lost on me.

Low bar based on the food I've seen in videos. -

That was my impression but figured I'd ask. Thanks. Since we haven't been there in forever and are early risers, I'm guessing we'll get off the ship early, take a little walk, and be back onboard before lunch. -
What's going on with RCCL Pricing
OCSC Mike replied to bjlaac's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Yep, my Allure for the end of the month was booked like a month out. Ellen's (Molly) Wonder was similar. There will be some good deals in tomorrow's GGG sale if the prices from the flier actually appear. -

My family of 8 re-ordered that bacon chicken app for the table like 5 times, lol. Everyone loved it. I also enjoyed the guac, just didn't mention it. I was mostly looking at the non-taco/burrito entrees. Thanks. I could just sit there eating guac and apps and then dessert but I'm not going to skip an entree altogether. -

This part was really necessary, thanks. There could be food I didn't know about like I mentioned, there could be a nice place to go for a walk (like the tiny nature trail on CocoCay that's still there but no one mentions), the shopping may be better than I'm aware of, etc. We love CocoCay despite not being beach or pool people, largely for the food. Duh! 🤣 -

Some prices in the flier have been screwy over the past month. There was a terrible price listed for my Allure cruise later this month but quite a good price on the site before, during, and after the the sale. That said, some other prices in the flier are quite good. -

Ooh, another Sabor fan! Only ate there once ever (Harmony last year) and really enjoyed most of my meal (loved multiple apps and desserts, probably ordered the wrong entree, some sort of burrito). Enjoyed the jalapeno cucumber margarita too (though I like the Goal Post margarita from Playmakers a little better). Going there on Allure later this month. Got any entree recommendations? Someone recently told me they loved the Snapper. -
Utopia of the Seas itinerary planned?
OCSC Mike replied to tx121's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Hey, she's doing a 5-nighter first! I've heard it's going be like an inaugural and President's cruise combined... free DBP and UDP for everyone! Oh wait, that might might have been a dream I had. -
Utopia of the Seas itinerary planned?
OCSC Mike replied to tx121's topic in Royal Caribbean International
When Utopia was first released, I made a couple of those comparisons. They were close and Utopia may have been cheaper for some off-peak times. For peak times, not so much. Specifically, for our spring break 2025, I was going to do a Utopia B2B but a week on Wonder was something like $600-700 cheaper for an interior. That's a large difference when you're spending under $2000 for 2 people and I couldn't justify paying it for a nearly identical ship as much as I'd like to see the newness and love CocoCay. I haven't checked Utopia since then so no idea what prices are like now (other than expensive). *NOTE: My comparisons involved TA group rates so others may have had different results shopping straight from through the RC website.
