  1. No, definitely a different experience. We did a B2B in July and honestly didn't know how we would feel about it after doing Oasis class for so long but we love CocoCay and we weren't THAT worried. When there was a GGG sale starting at $129pp for 4-nighters in October, my wife even agreed to take a few days off (she's a teacher but had a slightly different position last year that made her more OK with it). She still had me drive her from the ship straight to work after disembarking Friday morning though b/c she's nuts, lol. Fortunately her school is 5 miles from our house and almost exactly on the way home from PC.
  2. While we prefer Oasis class (never did Quantum), we went back on Indy for the first time in a while last year and had a good time. I missed a couple things from Oasis class but I'd sail any ship with a promenade if there was a good deal.
  3. Very spoiled indeed. I wish that stupid bridge in Tampa didn't prevent Voyager class and above from sailing out of there. I'm just not a fan of anything smaller. 1st world problem, of course. I'll continue to appreciate my hour drive to PC.
  4. Before Katrina we used to visit my wife's Aunt/Uncle in Biloxi from time to time. They used to work in the casino industry (went from AC to Biloxi) then her uncle opened up a huge sports bar in Biloxi. Unfortunately Katrina wiped the sports bar and the entire strip mall it was in off the face of the earth and they retired near my wife's parents here in FL a few years later. Fun place to visit.
  5. Since I view Freedom and Voyager class as virtually identical, don't care for anything smaller, and personally value food venues over other features... I'd go with Freedom or Navigator even though I've never sailed either one because I enjoy Playmakers and El Loco Fresh.
  6. No such thing as too much or too little. Tip what you are comfortable with. Nothing wrong with reading the opinions of others but don't let that be the main factor in what you feel is right for you.
  7. They became very strict about picture rules more recently. My SIL had a 100 picture package on our family cruise on Wonder in June and if someone from her cabin (we had 3 cabins for our 3 households) was not in the picture she could not have it. Once onboard they did work with her a bit at least. Doesn't matter to us, we're not big on pics in general, we just take them so we can choose our 2 freebies, but figured I'd share.
  8. Well pardon me. It sure sounded like you did since you claimed they told sad stories of having 6 kids to feed.
  9. On the promenade. https://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/deckplans/deckbydeck.php?ship=Allure-of-the-Seas&deck=5
  10. Can’t say I paid much attention to the splash zone in June but I doubt the diaper area is much bigger than on other ships.
  11. I don't doubt there are some "bad apples" out there. We just haven't found any. Had a server in Giovanni's on Indy from Ukraine last year. If anyone could have told a sob/horror story... but she assured us her family was safe where they lived after we expressed our concern.
  12. Never once heard any such story from any crew member on any cruise I've ever been on. We enjoy chatting with various crew members about "back home" and not one of them has ever told us a sob story or made us feel guilt tripped in any way.
  13. Yeah, that's pretty similar to us... except for our Amazon account, of course. 🙈
  14. Nice. My wife & I joke about how we met “online” way before online dating was a thing. We actually had a mutual friend but we first talked in an AOL chat room while in college in the late 90s.
  15. Freedom class - Freedom, Indy, Liberty And fwiw, it's very very similar to Voyager class, just slightly longer so the promenade is larger. Everyone's favorite FREE pizza place originated on Freedom class b/c they used some of the extra room to spin off Sorrento's into its own location instead of just serving pizza at Cafe Promenade.
  16. When this happens, call back and speak to another agent. Unfortunately, some know far more than others.
  17. You are supposed to get a note in your cabin on the cruise during which you reach 140. Since you didn't, call C&A. I didn't realize we had passed 140 til I got home (didn't get the note). They can mail it to you.
  18. Chances are the entire cruise is technically free (to them). It's rough being a kid.
  19. Never heard of such a thing. I think you imagined it.
  20. You simply cancel, get a refund, and repurchase.
  21. I have 4 upcoming Wonder cruises, $19.99 is the standard "sale" price. $20.99 is the "normal" price. Haven't seen anything else in the 4 months since I booked the 1st one. Hoping for something slightly lower during the Black Friday sale but not holding my breath.
  22. Tip whatever you feel comfortable with. If he was disappointed, that's on him, not you.
  23. The complaint is that their TA isn’t doing their job well… a very valid complaint.
