  1. While you're right it's not advertised, they do print the Vegan menus if you ask for them. If you tell them on day 1, they'll bring it to you every night without having to ask again
  2. Yes there is certainly a difference between being tired of the menu vs not finding anything on the menu that you would eat. But 99% of the complaints about the menu are the opposite of your situation. People afraid to try new things. After 5 years of the exact same menu, you'd think more regular sailors would be more like you where they want to see new things. My father is like that, he has been on so many cruises that he basically asks if they can prepare him anything off menu or has been trying more specialty dining just out of boredom of the same old menu on every cruise. Better to be bored of a menu than to be scared of it
  3. Why? You really can't find 1 item per night that you'd enjoy?
  4. If this is true... I'm happy with my extra unplanned $100 lol
  5. I think it's more embarrassing for the adult to have the palate of an 8 year old. Every single day on the menus that were tested last month had a few "safe" options that a reasonable adult would enjoy as well as a couple more adventurous items (such as the indian selection). Maybe the type of "adult" who thinks applebees is fine dining should stick to the buffet
  6. I booked last week for a 2024 and I see $100 that I assume is from the agent
  7. Bc March is full of spring break college kids and there is no incentive for Royal to lower the price. Hell you should be happy you're getting it as cheap as you are. Supply/Demand
  8. And how much more did that NCL sailing cost you for a comparable RCC sailing? Bet it was at least $300-500 more with their "all inclusive included" pricing.
  9. Do people normally book packages through an agency? Do you see when someone books a package on their own but booked the cabin through the agency?
  10. I'm not saying it's a good deal on land and you're right, you need to "pay whatever the cruise line charges"... but if you're on the ship and plan on having 6+ drinks a day, then it is a good deal. It's got nothing to do with the sunk cost fallacy. If you plan on drinking more than the break even point or less than the break even point. That's the only thing to consider. If you think 6 drinks a day while on vacation is "drinking copiously" then obviously it's not for you. For a lot of other people, they would find value if the break even point was 10 drinks or more. Sunk cost implies you didn't bother to think in advance what your behavior was going to be and you need to make up for it after the fact and get yourself sick. People who ask the question online of "is it worth it" are doing the math before paying
  11. At $73/day you're talking of a break even of like 5 drinks a day... i can have 2-3 drinks at dinner alone. Until the break even point is like 9-10 drinks a day it's still a good deal for a lot of cruisers. A cocktail is $14 now on a lot of ships, as long as drink prices are high, idk what people expect with regards with package prices. They aren't lowering costs, the best we can hope for is a pause on raising the prices.
  12. Just looking at your second picture, I can see chairs on all 4 levels in the extended area. But hopefully someone can verify
  13. Are you talking about noise from the storage room? How bad is that? Looking at a deckplan it does appear there is an inside cabin between 29 and I guess the storage, so you'd only hear that noise on the balcony I assume? Also, after making this post I found a RCB post from july mentioning these rooms and it's implied that it's decks 10-12 ... he doesnt list 14, but your picture clearly shows chairs on 14 in the extended area. So maybe he just left that deck out? Or maybe Allure is different from Symphony in that regard? We're getting 2 rooms so the thought of removing the balcony barrier between 2 neighboring rooms to make a triple balcony is very appealing, but if need be we'll just forgo the extended area since this sailing only has 1 set of adjoining rooms still available next to a 29 room
  14. I think they were xx229 & xx629 but I want to double check. Are the cabins next to them 227 & 627 just inside cabins? And be honest, is the tradeoff of the extended balcony on deck 14 worth it vs being on a lower deck which might be quieter?
  15. I'm sure they'd be able to assist you at guest services
  16. Dividends have been suspended for the moment while they work on becoming profitable again
  17. I havent been on Oasis, but I imagine the layout is the same as Symphony... I want to make sure you checked the back room of the WJ, that's where Symphony had their omelet and pasta stations. If you did go back there, were they just closed off areas with no food?
  18. What would you say the best pricing for a central park balcony would be
  19. The problem was with ALL websites. All normal travel agent websites including costco and others could not book Oasis sailings for next year.
  20. It depends on what website you look at... Some have jacked up the price and some are the same as last week.
