    Proof?

Here's the link on MSC's website:

    https://www.msccruisesusa.com/cruise-itinerary-changes-and-cancellations/msc-meraviglia

Here's what it has for the Meraviglia:

    DECEMBER 1 - 31, 2020 CANCELED CRUISES:

Guests who have paid in full will automatically receive a 125% Future Cruise Credit that will be emailed to you or your travel advisor by mid-December. If you prefer to request a refund, please call us at 1-866-420-3584 between December 16, 2020 - January 15, 2021 to request your refund.

You'll have to go into each ship (Seaside and Armonia) to find out what they have.

I have $216.26 FCC leftover from a cancelled cruise. What can I use this for? We are sailing on the Encore Feb. 24, 2021-March 1, 2021, I hope! Can it be used for dining? Specialty dinners? Shore Excursions? Tips? Any thing I left out?

    Hello,

    Here's what the FAQ says:

What can the FCC be used for?

Any bonus FCC amount is applied only to the voyage fare. The original, full value FCC can be applied and used for the following:

    • Voyage Fare
    • NCFs
    • Government Fees and Taxes
    • Pre-paid service charges
    • Beverage or dining gratuities (if part of the Free At Sea promotion selection)
    • Air purchased through Norwegian Cruise Line
    • Hotel purchased through Norwegian Cruise Line
    • Cruise tours purchased through Norwegian Cruise Line
    • Pre-booked and pre-paid shore excursions
    • Transfers
    • Essentials, Booksafe Standard or Platinum Travel Protection insurance (if purchased on the original suspended reservation)

I'm sorry to say this, but I do think you are being overly optimistic. CCL, NCL, and RCL have all cancelled cruises through November 30th. I can't imagine MSC will be the only one sailing.

This makes zero sense. They send you the FCC in November but you have until December 15th to request a refund? And be ready~ If you were using a FCC on a November cruise, I'm betting you will not be allowed to turn that back into cash.  Once you select FCC I suspect FCC will be your only option moving forward. I could be wrong, but that is my suspicion as more and more restrictions are being placed on how FCC's are handled.

On the email that MSC sent me for my FCC, it states the following:

Your Future Cruise Credit certificate can be used on any sailing departing on or before Dec. 31, 2021 and applied at the time of booking toward stateroom upgrades, specialty dining, beverage packages, spa treatments and more. (It excludes government taxes & fees and prepaid items on your original booking, which will be refunded separately to the original form of payment within 60 days.) As an added level of comfort, if the Future Cruise Credit is unused by that date, you will automatically receive a full refund equal to the original amount paid.

Not unexpected, but I am sorry for all of those effected by this cancellation, those scheduled for November 2020.  I am scheduled on the December 12th sailing of the MSC Meraviglia.  I have begun looking at what 125% FCC actually means for me.  It amounts to less than $100 per person.  I see some Meravigilia cruises in April that I might consider, if mine is cancelled.  Does the future cruise credit go to onboard credit if there is extra?

The FCC (Future Cruise Credit) doesn't go to OBC (On-Board Credit).  However you can pre-order some extras like drink package, spa treatments, etc.  If anything is left over, it goes to a FCC.  The worst part is that you can't use more than one FCC on a single booking.  At least that's been my experience to this point.

  5. I was just looking at the MSC website and they have listed that the MSC Meraviglia November 1 - 30, 2020 cruises are cancelled.

    Here's the link:

    https://www.msccruisesusa.com/cruise-itinerary-changes-and-cancellations/msc-meraviglia

I haven't seen anything other than it listed here.

    It states the following:

    NOVEMBER 1 - 30, 2020 CANCELED CRUISES

Guests who have paid in full will automatically receive a 125% Future Cruise Credit (sent to guest or travel advisor email on file). Your Future Cruise Credit will be emailed to you in November. If you prefer to request a refund, please call us at 1-866-420-3584 no later than December 15th to request your refund.

It used to be that you could just click on a link to send a .pdf booking confirmation to yourself, but I don't see that option now.  Is it still there?

Since MSC's website "update", I haven't found the link.  However, when I made a change to my personal data on a booking, a confirmation was sent to my email for that booking.

    Select <Cruise Detail> option and then select <Passenger Data>

I am just now finding this thread! When is this sailing over, or is it already over? Is there another one right after this or will they be taking a break before the next one?

Yes, the 1st sailing just ended this morning and the 2nd sailing already departed a while ago.

    Greetings,

Can more than one FCC be applied to a replacement booking?  Had 2 sailings cancelled and looking to replace with 1 longer (more expensive) sailing.

I was told that you're not allowed to use 2 FCC's on a single cruise when I tried to do it.

    Hello

I just booked on MSC Margavilla  Yacht Club.  Its state you get the beverage package and I think its Premier but now I see Premier Plus.

    Anybody know what it is?

    Thanks

    Brenda

The Yacht Club gets the "Premium" drink package but you can upgrade to the Premium Plus for about $17 a day per person.  I put the Premium in quotes because MSC doesn't actually specify the drink package for the Yacht Club but it includes at least all the drinks that are included in the premium.

Has anyone tried calling the MSC USA office lately? How long was the average wait time? Our sailing would have been April 25th, I requested the FCC March 24th. The e-mail confirmation said I should receive the certificate in about 60 days. I have not received anything yet. I am thinking of giving them a call. I am curious how much time I should allocate. Thank you.

I called on Sunday and didn't have any wait other than the 2 minute or so introduction.

I did not sign in and tried to book March 28th and received this message -  When I tried to check my booking I received the second message. I know be patient..

Apologies this cruise is now fully booked, please try a new search
For support , contact our Contact Center

Error SYS_005 - No message found under code 'PREPAID_001' for locale 'en_US'.

I get the "Apologies this cruise is now fully booked...." when I was checking on my 3/31/20 Seaside cruise also.  My guess is that we should be hearing about all the changes that MSC is making....hopefully tomorrow.

I have also been getting the "SYS_005....." error when I go into my booking information.  When I called MSC's service representative about a FCC problem, I was transferred to their IT representative to report the SYS_005 error since I had this same problem after they cancelled my 2 cruises.  The representative said that it should be resolved in 1 to 2 days.

Challenging is an understatement. Here is what the website says: "Check in online is available up to 48 hours before your cruise begins". It does not say that check in can not begin until 48 hours before cruise begins. With over 5,000 checking in I can imagine web page being overrun to the point where web page is shut down because of the sheer volume. Doesn't make any sense. This is the first cruise line ever encountered to do that if you are right. Thank you for your input. So far MSC has left a bad taste in my mouth. Hope it is not a sign of things to come. Again as it says check in is available up to 48 hours before cruise day, and some say cannot check in until 48 hours - BOTH STATEMENTS CANNOT BE CORRECT.

It must be a problem with the website because I always do all the check-in as soon as the booking is put in the system.

I would call back and if the representative can't fix it, request to talk with the network/Internet/IT group.  Normally they'll have to get an ok by somebody like a supervisor but I've always been able to talk with someone that either can fix it or put a request in for someone else to fix.

    Good luck.

Perfect sense...to raise revenue they eliminated the 15% VC discount.  Ugh.....

Just to add...the cruises out of NYC for 2020 were under the 15% discount.  The ones for 2021 weren't.  I'm talking about pre-pandemic days.

Yeah, I did get the 5-15% discount on my Oct. 2nd cruise when I booked prior to the website "upgrade".

I wouldn't be surprised if there are VC discounts available for some sailings, I think that it's just that their website isn't displaying the discounts.  Obviously not for NY sailings this year since they aren't showing up.  I guess time will tell, once they get their site fixed.  I think the discounts are still available because the text on the VC site still says they do offer the discounts.

The Voyages Selection areas of the US website worked for about a week, about 90% of the US sailings were in the 5+15% section.  I almost wish I had kept more bookings but only had one.  As usual the phone agents were unable to get the discount applied, they could not find it listed as such in their system.  I called again and got to customer service who asked me for a screenshot of my sailing on the US site's 5+15% section, which I provided.  I got the full discount and OBC within two days.  The US website Voyages Selection area has not been working since.  I also now get diverted to the UK site if I try the 5+5% link.

I was trying not to have to explain that one and keep it simple but I knew somebody would say it.

You're correct that it showed a lot of cruises on the 5+15%.   However for the sailings that I have booked the 5+15% were actually not calculating correctly, it only showed a 5% discount.  I can't speak for them all but the 2 that I was looking at were not showing the amount it should have been given the price of the cruise at the time and the amount it should have been if a 5/15 discount was applied.  I called thier call center because I needed to check on my Military discount being added to one my bookings that they couldn't add when I booked it 2 months ago.  At the same time, I asked about the 5-15% VC discount that was listed on their site since that would have been cheaper than my Military discount and it wasn't listed for them in their database.  After talking with the agent, they transferred me to the IT department to tell them about the issues that I was having.  She also checked and they shouldn't have been listed in the 5/15 VC list.  Then last week I sent them an email to go over the current problems that I was having.

Hopefully this makes sense since I'm still working on my morning coffee.

And back to the topic.....all I see is 5% discounts.  Am I missing something?

In my experience, the Voyager Club discounts page has been an issue since MSC did the "upgrade" to their web site.

When I click on the 5% + 5%, it actually takes me to the UK site.  I've sent a message to their network people with a couple of issues earlier this week.  They've corrected one of the issues but not this one.  Hopefully, they'll get this fixed soon.

To all those who can log in - how do you do it?

On new website in the upper righthand corner I see a "head of a person" in a circle which I presume is meant for logging in however over the top of that "head" are three bars that do nothing.  When I click on the head and bars, cannot click on only one, I do not get anything.

I don't have the 3 bars.  I have the "Head of a person" over "Login" and I''m able to click on either to go to the Login Screen.

This is where my problem starts.  Sometimes I get into my accounts and sometimes I get an error about my email isn't validated.

Hello! I am a retired teacher. Our family had a cruise planned (a 50th anniversary celebration cruise for my husband and myself and our children; their spouses, and the grandchildren) on the “new” Grandiosa for this June.

Obviously, we cancelled the cruise but are planning for the exact same celebration in 2022.
My question is......I thought I read somewhere (after we booked our last cruise) that as a retired teacher I could have qualified for a discount from MSC. Are there any of you who have heard of this? Thank you!

I believe that retired civil servants still get the discount that active civil servant workers do.  I know that active civil servants receive the same discount as military personal do.

I had this same problem over the last several weeks (firefox and chrome), but last week after I re-linked my remaining bookings they now remain showing in my account.

I just cleared all my cookies, re-entered my multiple booking, closed my browser and my bookings disappeared again.  I guess that I'll wait a few more days and try again.
