  1. We booked three BX balconies for 749 (did not include taxes/fees/charges) and we received beverage package, dining package, and 100 casino credit (which is really 100 onboard credit). We are looking forward to seeing where we all end up! A fourth booked yet had to do handicapped cabin and she got the last one available...an oceanview for 849...she picked the beverage and dining but missed the 100 credit as it ended Sunday night.

Even if I was sailing with my husband...I still would have picked two cabins...LOL

If I had booked the studio a long time ago...I would call and say hey, put me in the spa balcony...that price this morning is cheaper than the studio cabin...

    coka

That's a great price that you got with getting 2 of the items included. I'm with you, if I had booked a Studio cabin a while ago I would have also went for an upgrade since the studio cabin is so much more expensive than the Spa balcony or mini suite are now since the Single Supplement for most cabin categories are 0%.

I'm still waiting to see what cabin I'll be assigned.

  2. Short answer: He is not someone I would book a cruise to see.

Long answer, and why: Jeremy takes a lot of artistic liberties with his songs. What I mean by that is he likes to sing in a different key than the one being played, and change that key randomly throughout the song. He also has a habit of playing around with the rhythm and adding falsetto vocalizations (think yodeling) in a non-ironic, non-sarcastic way. This makes it hard, even drunk, to sing along with him. Good repertoire of contemporary pop songs, much more so than any PBE who spends the majority of the year hopping from ship to ship. No "adult" songs, and the piano bar typically closed by 12. This was on the Breeze in June, after Seth's departure from Carnival.

I think the attitude of the PBE makes or breaks the experience for me. I rather hear one willing to play Don't Stop Belivin' five times in one night (subbing lyrics, joking around, etc) than one who cuts off the song just before the chorus, and demands a $20 to stop it. Borders fortunately doesn't do either, which is why he might be ok in between shows.

    Thanks for the information.

  3. I am traveling on the breeze in a couple weeks and plan on getting the cheers program for the first time. I'm wondering if there are certain bars I have to order at when using cheers? Can it be used at the casino? Also, can you use it in the dining room?

You can use the cheers program at any bar including the dining room. You just can't use it to get drinks from room service or the mini bar in your cabin.

  4. Can you come back after your cruise and give us an update? I'm curious to find out when you are able to purchase on 1st day. There were 2 cruises on an August 12th Splendor sailing and both said they couldn't purchase till after 6:00 pm but they were credited back the next day for the drinks they bought prior to 6:00 pm.

I'm thinking this was an issue because it was one of the 1st cruises after the new price announcement... at least that's what I'm hoping.

    thanks.

For the 5 times that I've sailed on the Splendor from NY, you had to wait until around 6:00 to purchase the Cheers program. I believe that it has something to do with the NY laws so this is not something new. But they have always credited back the price of the drink and you only paid the tax for the drinks that you had until you reached international waters.

  5. I know this has been asked before but I couldn't locate it. My husband and I are sailing Oct 4th and we are trying to decide if it is worth it to get the Cheers Program. We will be going to 4 ports, one is Half Moon Caye. Is the Cheers Program applicable on the Half Moon Caye :) ?? Thanks!

No, the Cheers program is not applicable on Half Moon Caye.

  6. Here's the text from Carnival's FAQ section:

  7. Okay, very cool....thank you. Next time I board Splendor I will be armed and dangerous! I will figure everything out between now and then and book the next cruise as soon as the FC desk opens. ;) I only have to wait 8 more months!!!

    You're welcome.

I know the feeling about being all ready to book when you board the ship. I already have my cruises all set to book and am waiting to board in Sept. The only thing I'll have to do is see the specific cabin that I want.

  8. Okay, please bear with me. Sorry to "highjack" the thread and hope I don't come across as a complete imbecile, but I am used to booking as ES on the CCL website. I also pick my SPECIFIC CABIN. So if I am on Splendor in February, 2014, I can go to the future cruise desk and book the cabin I want, book as ES, same as I would do on line and ALSO get a $100 OBC for a January, 2015 cruise??:confused: Is this pp or just per cabin? TIA. ;)

Yes, you're correct. You could book the cabin you want as ES just and get a $100 OBC per cabin. The person at the Future Cruise Desk is suppose to have the same capabilites as a PVP does.

  9. What if you use a credit card for your S & S, how do you apply the new gift certificates to it then?

When you give Carnival your gift certificates, it becomes a credit to your S&S, just like an On-Board Credit, so it will offset any charges you make prior to getting any credit card charges. For example: if you have a gift certificate of $200 and purchases of $300 than you will have a balance of $100 charged to your credit card.
