Okay, totally tech challenged. Where do I find app settings? Using an Android tablet. Went into "Manage Apps" and selected the CC app, but did not see anything like settings? [emoji30]

That is interesting, the Iphone uses a different header than the Android phone in the same app.

I never knew that C.C. even had an app. I always just go to the website from my phone. Any advantages to downloading and using the app for access?

Are you able to see any calving when you are there?

No, there was some talk about it on the way in but it was very foggy until we got close to the glacier.

Thanks but I believe Hubbard Glacier is not part of Tracy Arm Fjord and Explorer‘s itinerary?

I was also on this trip, the ship went into Endicott Arm Fjord and we saw the Dawes Glacier, Tracy Arm Fjord was blocked

Of course adjustments will have to be made....I sailed on Mariner in Asia and you wouldn't have recognized her.

I decided I don't want to be on the first Cruise to Alaska on Ovation, will pick another itinerary, I just don't want to find out all the things that didn't get done in time, some of the Ovation reviews are less than stellar compared to other RCI ships

Does anyone know if the menu and food and staff will be adjusted?

When I read up on Ovation it is designed for the Chinese market and travelers in mind.

I would second the National Parks Visitor Center: I spent some time in there after the railway to the summit trip. I was curious about the age of the trees and their size and they handed me off-to an expert who gave me a 10 minute overview of the forest. If you have time the films and other talks looked like they would be worth it.

The town is about 10 blocks long and about a 10-15 minute walk from the dock, allow a few hours at least if you want to poke around in the shops. I went into town after the rail trip to the summit. If I had it to do again I would do rail one direction and vehicle the other.

Certain cruise lines (RCI has been reported) might have passport requirements for boarding beyond what US immigration requires.

I just sailed Seattle - Seattle 7 day with a stop in Victoria, had to have passport.for RCI

If anyone was onboard, does anyone know what time this happened? AFAIK, the ship was doing lazy circles around the bay due to wind and never docked (3rd miss this month in Victoria, 2nd due to winds).

The ship docked in Victoria about 6:30 am, this happened about 630-730 PM when we were leaving port. I saw a zodiac type skiff leaving about 715 pm from WJ when we were a least a mile from the dock. I was back in my cabin about 8 pm and heard the announcement that everyone was back on board and fine

whats the point of a survey with a wide range of responses if they treat everything not 10 as a failure?

I had a great time on my cruise, some things rated a 10, gave 8's and higher for almost everything except Zoom and IT staff help.

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – No obstructions, good view, very comfortable chairs and leg room ( I am big and tall )

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Oversized

Was wind a problem? - No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - NA

Any specific problems with this cabin? - No problems

Any other comments? Zoom internet was not super fast, not sure if it was the ship or the location

Not sure if it's the same on all ships, but on Anthem I witnessed them using the same artificial frozen dessert mix used at the poolside soft serve machines to make the milkshakes at Johnny Rockets. I would expect the quality to be much higher at Ben & Jerry's if they are using scoops of real ice cream.

Milkshakes at B&J are scoops of ice cream and milk for the coffee which is all I had as a shake.

$4.75 for b&j I think it's about a 12 oz cup. They put in 4 scoops of ice cream. I haven't been in JR. I just finished this and was reading the forum

You can download to your phone but that eats up battery. Leaving wireless and bluetooth off on phone and go pro saves some battery.

Big box wholesale had a package deal with handle, mounts case, velcro straps a few weeks ago.

Take extra batteries and cards, more is better. I didn' t have any and have been learning as I go while on board.

Battery is$29 onboard

Memory cards start at $29 on board

Gopro offers a cloud service. But it needs a connection.

My husband and I are crusing sept 23rd on the liberty of the seas to western caribean.

 

Hubs is 6'4 and 300lbs. How uncomfortable will he be in the cabin/bathrooms? My friend who just cruised with carnival says he wont fir. I'm worried now.

I am on explorer of the Seas right now. 6'-2, 360,54 waist.

Toilet is a little snug on shower side.

I bring a bath brush so shower works.

Will need to look for chairs without arms in Windjammer or the metal chairs with arms. The wicker chairs are too snug

Lots of big people on board.

I am in a D2 cabin so standard bath bigger balcony.

Your hubby should be fine.

On explorer of the seas, we went into endicott and it was spectacular

We got very close to the glacier and saw two pairs of whales.

I am on explorer now and used that lot I prepaid a few months in advance.

They loaded my luggage into their van at my car and found a valet when they unloaded.

Highly recommend they are great@
