I have used Alamo several times - renting at MIA for a few days before the cruise, dropping off there and taking their free shuttle to the port. It is very easy and not chaotic, which is not what I hear about the port locations.

Good to hear! We are doing this in Miami as well with Alamo. Wasn’t aware they did shuttles! My husband was going to drop my mum and I at the port then go drop the car and Uber back to us!

Would you recommend we all just drop off the car and take the Alamo shuttle with luggage?

We have a similar issue! We have a 5pm international flight!

We were considering the hop on hop off tour but it seems a waste when we’d have to get the 1pm airport transfer to be there 3hrs prior to the flight.

Day rooms sound interesting but will they take 3 adults?

 

We don’t really pay any attention to the ages of the other passengers as it doesn’t affect us unless it is full of those under 30 that think the world revolves around them. I am more affected if the ship is overrun by large groups that are sailing together.

MDR portions seemed smaller then in the past. Not a bad thing, just means you needed to order multiple things to try.

Why all of the discussion of how hard and long the bartenders work? Is poor service supposed to be acceptable as long as there is a reason for it?

No excuse for being rude to someone who is simply trying to engage you or ask for a recommendation!

Hopefully they announce this in advance so you can make an informed decision!

Totally understand they’re in one of the most demanding areas but we always treat staff politely and have a friendly attitude- would hate to think they wouldn’t attempt to be polite in return!

No personal experience but have seen it posted that if you cancel the OBC will be available to spend again on the web site pre-cruise. I'm pretty sure you would be safe to cancel and rebook. You could always call to verify.

Cancelled and rebooked at the cheaper rate with no issues :) OBC was instantly refunded!

Also used the price difference to book an internet package t 20% off! Very happy !!!

HELP! We booked a drinks package that is now way cheaper with the 20% discount! But we also used our On Board Credit to purchase! Has anyone any experience of what will happen if we cancel this to rebook at the cheaper price? Do we get refunded the payment and OBC? will we lose the OBC? SO torn

Sorry for bumping an old thread but a FV room has become available on my cruise and I’ve called my TA re. an upgrade from a 1C balcony cabin!

Anyone that’s had a FV room- is the main difference the amount of space or is anything else worth having ?

We will be a group of 3 so the extra bedroom vs a sofa bed in our current statement seems much better! Just waiting to hear the cost of upgrading atm hence wanting to get some feedback on the main differences / if it’s worth it !

Personally I think it avoid any confrontation I would rather sit further away from the pool ! My main worry would be on sea days- has anyone ever had an instance where they simply couldn’t get a sun lounger? Or are there an ample amount?

Beverage purchases of any kind are not covered by the pre-paid gratuities, and 18% is always added to those. The standard gratuities, whether pre-paid or added daily to your account, are for stateroom attendant, wait staff and the various behind-the-scenes crew such as cooks, dishwashers, cleaners or public areas, etc.

Oh wow! I wasnt aware of this! So if ive pre-paid my gratuities and paid for my drinks package +18% (both of which ive done for 3 people) then they will still charge me an extra 18% on top of every drink I order? :o
