  1. I am new to Oceania and while I suspect they do not have fare reductions as some of the mass market lines do I thought I should do my due diligence and confirm this so I don't miss out on potential savings. So here goes, if you book your Oceania trip and at some point before final payment you see a lower price advertised on Oceania website for the same category and same cruise are you able to obtain that lower price through your TA or Oceania direct? We've had occasions to save substantial amounts on other lines but have heard that Oceania does not do this? True or not? Thanks for any help.
  2. Only TA we have used in the past was with the "big box" store. Because we have looked at Oceania over the years, I'm sure at some point over the last 20 years I must have probably clicked on something on the website that said "send me a brochure" and the avalanche began... lol🤪
  3. We've cruised about 30 times. More on Celebrity than any others, but also HAL, Princess, Royal. They just don't send out brochures the way Oceania does. I don't remember the last brochure I received from any of them frankly. I do get a quarterly bulletin from Princess from their loyalty club, Celebrity now sends that out digitally and pretty sure we've never gotten anything from HAL, but we only cruised with once. Don't get me wrong, aside from the massive waste of paper it creates, I really don't care. It is helping to fill up the landfills.
  4. Booked direct...just transferred to TA 2 days ago......
  5. Received 8 this week alone. We have never sailed on Oceania and have been receiving them for years. We finally did book 2 cruises with them in the last month and the number seems to now have increased. 😱😱 I can count on one hand the number I have received from Celebrity in the last several years. A couple of hands for ones from Viking and Regent. I could fill a warehouse with the ones from Oceania. There is a definite disconnect going on somewhere in the marketing department.
  6. It has been in our experience, hopefully that will continue on our first Oceania cruises!!! I'm sure I would try to politely state that the conversation is inappropriate and if it didn't end I would ask for a different table.
  7. Wow, I would have been really upset if this had happened to us. I don't know that I could have remained silent with that kind of incredibly rude behavior. Sorry you experienced this, hopefully it never happens again. Politics isn't a conversation for a table of people who don't know each other, and frequently even those who DO!! I think most people know this, thankfully.
  8. Is it possible for someone in a Penthouse Suite to make reservations for 4 with the other 2 people not being in a suite?
  9. Once more I'm new to Oceania and going to be going on a 42 night cruise in 2024 and while looking around the Oceania website I came across these two options, "Unlimite Passport Collection" & "Your World Collection" in shore excursions area. How much do these cost to join? Are they worth it? Should I just book things one a time when they become available? Thanks for any help.
  10. Emed takes about 20 minutes. We've done it several times now and will be taking with us on our trip to Italy this fall so that we don't have to look for a place to do it before we embark on the Apex.
  11. We used the below company for transport this past May: Mini Cab Heathrow London Gatwick | Low Cost Service (blackberrycars.com) They did a great job, were on time and the cost was lower than expected.
  12. Buy an EMED test and do it that way. No stress, easy peasy to do with a phone, desktop, tablet. Cost is about $25.00
  13. I guess this may sound dumb but what exactly does OS & OE & YWYW mean? I'm new to Oceania...
  14. It's been our philosophy for years that if we "HAD" to make a connection it should be in the USA and then straight to Rome or London or where ever. We've had to connect in Atlanta, Charlotte, Philly in the past but it's worked out and this summer more than ever I would do that. And, yes, at least 2 days ahead of the cruise. Very glad our next trip isn't until late October.
  15. So VERY true!!!!! The small cost of a hotel for a night or two is well worth the peace of mind it gives you!!!!!!
  16. We did a Mont St Michel tour from Le Havre this May with Overlord tours. The ride was about 2 hours each way and we spent a good 4 hours at the site. Climbed all the way to the top. It was exhausting AND amazing and we are so glad we did it. Highly recommend it!!
  17. Thanks!! Sounds like fun and nice to have incentives for prizes!!!
  18. Always grateful for BBC news on board. The Artist's Loft sounds interesting. Are there classes for the Stitch/needlepoint? Haven't done any of that in decades, but open to it for sure. What do you mean "by collecting Big O points"
  19. We are booked on our 1st Marina cruise and are very excited about it. It's a long cruise, 42 days, with quite a few sea days included. I know that there will be times when we just want to relax in our stateroom and I've been wondering what kind of television programming Oceania has on their ships, especially the Marina. I know some cruiselines have a few news channels and a couple other stations that usually play old shows. Princess has a large amount of free movies, Celebrity has almost none. Appreciate anyone who can provide info on what Oceania does.
