  1. Welcome to the wonderful World of Carnival Cruising. My decisions were always made based on the cost of the ship, the distance we either had to drive or fly and our personal choices. We enjoyed them all and each Ship had a special and unique presence.

Whichever ship you choose just enjoy the Carnival Voyage!!

  2. Cruised out of Jacksonville a few months ago. Searched for a Hotel with a Park n Cruise package. They were non existent in Jacksonville. Ended up parking directly across the street from the Terminal. Van was good in dropping us off and picking us up after the Cruise. I didn't make the reservation so In can't comment on the cost; however, it was cheaper than parking at the Terminal.

Your situation may be a bit different with the disability factor.

At the moment masks are "recommended", but not mandatory.

As a side note we just got back from a cruise and all 3 of us caught Covid.  From the timing it's pretty much certain we got it either on board or on an excursion..... I feel like total crap and right now I'm kicking myself in the butt for not masking up when out in public.

That is the reason I have never taken my mask off! People are going to do as they please but there are always consequences that not only affect the individual but others.

    Hope you get well soon.

  4. I think that Carnival is utilizing this survey to gauge how many cruisers are actively watching TV, Their objective is probably not to receive too many responses because that proves that more people are spending time in the cabins and not out and about spending cash.

They are always looking at alternative ways to get you engaged onboard and out of the path of the Cabin TV's? You watching a free movie in your cabin can't be counted as revenue contribution.

People continue to be confused as well over "Check in time" and "Boarding Zone"  You choose a check in time to arrive at the Port and when you print your Boarding Pass there will be a Boarding Zone on it which when called will allow you to board the ship.  There is no correlation between time when you arrive to check in and time when you get on the ship.  You could get a check iin time of 10:30 and not be allowed on the ship until 1:00.  It all depends on when everyone is finally off and they are ready to accept the incoming passengers.  Just be prepared with the COVID Protocols currently in place if you show up before your actual check in time you could be waiting outside for awhile before they let you in.

You beat me to it. Thanks for explaining the process. Hopefully the confusion is cleared up.

  6. Our society is really trending wayward these days! There is never an excuse for disorderly conduct; no matter what the venue. What examples are we setting for our children and grandchildren? We are much better as a society and hopefully cooler heads will prevail.

My Carnival Cruise experience will never be distorted by those who did not learn manners at home.

  7. This new technology is too smart for it's own survival. Just stick to old school hard copies of everything. We had our vaccine cards in hand, passports and our test results in our phones. After showing all of these bits of information, didn't take any longer for us to board than normal. As a matter of fact a few passengers beside us were having issues with verifying that they submitted any information via VeriFly?

Very good point.  I almost always see quite a few people barging past the closed doors who don't feel like rules should apply to them.  They just get in the way of the crew and slow things down.  Just find a comfortable spot and relax for a bit until cabins are ready (or do as the OP and avoid the wait altogether by grabbing a later boarding time).

    Thank you for your insight!!!

  9. I still do not take advantage of our Carnival Cruise status. I wait until the all Cabin signal is given and then it takes us a few minutes after that to go to the cabin. The bags don't usually arrive until later in the afternoon. We don't overpack so we are lugging around extra luggage that needs to be placed inside the cabins.

Learn to slow it down, relax and enjoy the Cruise.
