Thanks for all tips, we are U.K. Based so will be flying back to U.K. Prefer Gatwick or Manchester. We could book our own flights but for some dates there is no reduction in price and others only about £200 pp so cunard can obviously get some good rates from the airlines.

We are looking to book first transatlantic next year, westbound with a few days in New York post cruise. The hotel prices quoted on cunard site are extortionate at £600 per night for crowne plaza, I can book equivalent in booking.com for half this. Can you ask Cunard to book flights back say 3 days after cruise and book hotel direct ? 

Also who do cunard use for flights back to U.K. To London and which airport do they use?

We are having problems doing the online check in as it wants a mandatory field completion for a County but I am unable to type anything in the required box. Do you have to do online check in or can you do this at the check in desks at port?

Can anyone who has been on a recent UAE cruise advise best currency to take for the various ports of call, are countries UAE dirhams , are $ or euros widely accepted?

We got the train a few years ago and it's not that far to train station, about 10 minutes from port gates I think. The ticket also included all the buses, public transport in Rome. Get off at Vatican first, make sure you book online to avoid long queue to enter, after Vatican get train into center,very easy to walk around and then get train back to port, much cheaper and easier then coaches which often get delayed by traffic.

Can anyone who has been on a UAE cruise advise what first and second dining times normally are. We are On Splendida in January.

Only America has this rule, go to Europe where 18+ can drink legally like all the other adults.

Recently returned from a Norwegian Star cruise and was surprised by how many Americans wear baseball caps inside constantly and even to dinner. Is this normal in USA restaurants or is it just bald men wearing them ?

Going on Splendida in January and calling at above Island. Has anyone done the wildlife excursion with MSC and if so what wildlife did you see? Is there anything else to do in Island by way if excursions or is it mainly a Beach day and what is on the beach by way of facilities?

Has anyone used the internet packages recently? We are thinking of the standard package as only 2 of us and just want to check emails and Facebook etc. will this be sufficient?

Sent an email to customer services and they answered very promptly and reset  my account and able to log in with no problems.

I am having same problems, I have a cruise booked for Jan and have an account registered. However when I try to log in the website now says that there is no booking registered under my email address so I can't access the information or request a password reset. 

How do you pay your balance due when you can't access the booking information?

Toured all of over the world including South America and most Caribbean countries and never tipped coach drivers unless on small individual tour where they are also guide. Never had any problems with pick pockets yet and doubt tipping a coach driver would offer protection!

Just be careful and don't flash cash around.

Tipping everyone you speak to is a very American thing and not understood by most of the world who don't! Climbing Ayers Rock will be banned shortly as it goes against all the indigenous people's religion and frowned upon by most and I doubt the coach driver would be climbing the rock !!!

We got the classic drinks package included when we booked a UAE cruise in March for Jan 2019, so they do have offers at times

Save your money and just go in the Pool after the lunchtime buffet frenzy has finished!!

We joined Voyagers club first and then emailed MSC for status match with copy of NCL latitueds level. The email address is in my post above, for U.K. guests and I assume there will be a US equivalent. You could try emailing status match first with details and they may just put you in VC at same time.

Yes a European cruise will be a good mix of nationalities with American probably in minority so quieter amostphere. As others have said there is a lot more to see in Europe in terms of scenery, historical sites etc so guests tend to be a lot more tired at night then when you are just sitting on a beach.

Thanks for all advice, rang MSC cruises today and they applied the 5% discount on total invoice with just me as VC member. Very helpful staff and new invoice emailed within 1 minute of finishing call.

MSC have just confirmed me as classic to match NCL which entitles me to 5 % discount. I already have a cruise booked, can I request the 5% discount before I pay final balance and if so how do this, I booked via website?

Also do I have to apply separately for my wife to get same discount?

We went in January this year and weather was fabulous, very warm and sunny. Most people were in shorts etc on deck and pool was used a lot. It was 25c in most ports including Spain although these were probably above normal but a great cruise

Includes a litre bottle of water per person per day if from U.K.

appreciate Fjords will be different to Oslo, Copenhagen, Gothenburg etc it's just that some friends maybe doing Transatlantic and want to join them and would like to different area of world

We have a Fjords cruise booked for next year and would like to change it as we went on a last minute BAltics cruise this year which included Norway and we don't really want to do same area again next year.

We would like to go on a Cunard Transatlantic, does anyone know if you can transfer cruise to Cunard who are same Group?
