I’m on Dawn now and staying on for the next voyage which is the one Lois is about to embark. I understand there are only 18 in transit. As an American, sounds like I will be in the minority with so many UK and Danish passengers.
Norway was wonderful and weather unexpectedly glorious.
I understand there is a CD onboard named Bruno but I guess unless you play trivia, he is incognito 😁. Glad to be able to enjoy outdoor dinners - heaters, but not really needed. Are you listening, Seabourn?
My traveling companion is disembarking, so I will be solo for this voyage. Hope to meet some of you also by yourselves.

What do you find interesting about MsCrystalina La Dame post? To me it's just a general description of La Dame whereby the cost is $60 on every ship not named Nova and $160 on Nova.
As usual, poorly written by Silversea. You'd think after all of the years they would have hired someone who majored in English by now to proofread their marketing materials.
You're right about poorly written. Had the end parenthesis been after Nova, I would have agreed. But this way, on other ships, price is $60 without complimentary wines.

Next week, August 6-16. This charter is neither a club, business event or sporting group. Just a variety of people from around Australia who often travel together because the travel company organises such fabulous itineraries.
Bon Voyage! I'll be on the next voyage out of Copenhagen.

I finished packing tonight and have included lots of dressy outfits plus a definitely formal dress. Part of the reason I booked Silversea is because I want to dress nicely both during the day as well as at night. My cruise on Silver Dawn is also a partial charter by an Australian company I’ve travelled with several times and I know most of the guests dress well, so I expect the dress standard will be high. Even on an expedition cruise in the Kimberley the casual dress standard was pretty smart.
Can you be specific which dates your Dawn cruise is with a partial charter?

The answer I received when I called Seabourn was: "reservations for the Thomas Keller Grill for 2024 bookings will open the end of August". When I asked about the rumor that there was an expected change in the venue, he said "absolutely not!".
So, I will be trying in early September to confirm his response (and not hold my breath!).

It doesn't go to staff
They are not allowed spirits at all on board.
So, they don't have their own bar below deck?

Yes, I tried both places for an April cruise. No luck. I may call Seabourn directly and see if I get the same excuse as Kahuna 21. No problem with excursions, plenty of those for which we have to shell out in advance as everyone knows. 😬

Just booked a reservation for La Dame in December - still $60. And I have one for next month. But easy to cancel since no upfront payment, so will look at the menus and hopefully talk to those who're on my cruise for opinion. Since we know experiences can vary by ship.

Not worth the money me thinks.
Unless the meal includes Chateau Haut Brion and Chateau d'Yquem! 😁

On my one Crystal experience, there was a crew member at the entrance of the restaurants, telling EVERYONE to use the hand sanitizer. Too pushy?

I guess it depends how much time you spend on your balcony. From inside the suite, I didn't notice the metal half, but sitting on the balcony, the view of the water was "cropped". But the price can certainly be a consideration. When I booked the Guaranty, I hoped for an upgrade, but no luck.

I assume this doesn't apply to river boats.

Speaking of kids, my Seabourn travel mate read on Seabourn Facebook page that there was a fight because of kids in the pool on Encore. Anyone hear about this?

And then try and find some tape or a stapler! Dumb...

Has anyone had experience cruising Celebrity's Retreat class on the Edge ships? How does it compare with the Seabourn experience?

Hi Terry, we go from Southampton to Copenhagen with stops in
Plymouth, UK
Cork, Ireland
Bantry, Ireland
Galway, Ireland
Killybegs, Ireland
Ullapool, UK
Scrabster, Scotland
Skagen, Denmark
ending in Copenhagen
And we have 3 sea days in between and no, I have never visited any of these places before so looking forward to seeing all new spots🙂
I think you travel solo, Lois. I do as well and will be on this voyage, also the prior one in Norway with a friend. Hope to meet you at a singles get-together in Dolce Vita.

You are correct, Silver Note is on multiple ships.
Do you know what time the Silver Note bar opens? Dinner isn't until 8.

Too small, but I suppose we have been spoilt with better products from other lines.
I agree, if you are used to large suites. Since I travel solo, I stay in the Verandah suites on Seabourn, 302 sq. ft. plus balcony.

I went to Antarctica on Ponant's Le Boreal. Fantastique! Abercrombie & Kent had chartered it, so English was the first language. Lovely (clean!) ship.

Barbara Muckerman has advised elsewhere that the Nova fire resistant panels were sourced elsewhere and are therefore fine.
But nothing about Muse, Moon and Dawn?

Is it suggested to tip the Blacklane driver?
A change in entertainment, maybe?

I am currently on Dawn. The only entertainment as most know are the 6 singers and their several production shows with the occasional solo or duet show by them . However, there was a guest singer Christine Andreas and her husband-accompaniest Marty Silvestri who gave us 2 outstanding performances. More please!
