I’d be really happy to stop taking antihistamines. I’m still on Zyrtec, even after a steroid shot, and it totally zonks me. So weird that I can function on the Cheers package day after day, but one pill makes my body think it requires 10-12 hours of sleep. I tried yesterday to not take it, but I started itching again. I don’t even want to mention the amount of food I’ve consumed thanks to the steroid shot. 🤦🏼‍♀️ but the hives are gone. Gonna make chicken fried steak, squash, and macaroni for dinner tonight since I grabbed some great looking cubed steak at the grocery store. Hope everyone has a great Thursday.

    Hope you recover fully soon!!

On our cruise, during the Drake Crossing there was time established for everyone to come down to the Atlas Lounge and try on your parka as well as the boots that are lent to you.  Come down in base layer(s) that you plan on wearing and they will make sure your parka is perfectly sized.

I can only assume that this is the practice for all of their Antarctica cruises.

PS.  The parkas are warm.  We found ourselves only wearing silk-weight poly-pro pants and shirt under our parka and waterproof pants.   If you haven't already done so, plan on bringing waterproof ski pants.  They'll be perfect.

Additionally, we wore a neck gator and poly-pro cap in addition to gloves.

For camping or if you are just doing a zodiac cruise (you don't always have the opportunity to land), we took a slightly heaver poly-pro shirt instead of our silk-weight.

Thank you! That is super helpful  We do have waterproof ski pants, we got them for an expedition cruise with Silversea that involved lots of zodiac rides and splashing 😉

It sounds like all of our underlayers for that trip will be sufficient for this one.  We will need to get gloves for this one tho...........

Well, an earthquake was not part of my morning plan. 😵‍💫

    2024 baby...

    Same,

At least none of the wine bottles or whiskey bottes jumped off of their shelves.  Minor rattling only.

Sid, make sure you get some lemonade or something to mix with that. I would pour a pint and chug it! Things will be fine, but just remember to not trust a fart!

I’m slowly becoming one of those, “let’s go on a trip instead” holiday people. I absolutely do not want to Easter this weekend. I don’t have a single Easter basket thing. I don’t wanna boil and dye eggs. I don’t want to eat dinner. My family, notoriously, plans late… and I’m over it. I’m not gonna participate. My kids don’t care about the traditions I usually fight to continue on. We are going to my sister’s for a glow in the dark egg hunt, and I grab some candy tomorrow for baskets. I’m gonna blame the weather for my Easter bah humbug. 😆 Gone are the days of Turkey and lamb dinners and Easter bonnets.

    Ack!

    Same!

  6. Thank you all!  I appreciate the input.  We like adult beverages at the end of the day after our outings, and wine with dinner, and then maybe a drink after dinner if there is anything going on in a lounge.

I agree, alcohol and water sports and hiking don't mix well!

Did any of you take advantage of the SUP activity?  How was it?

  7. Thank you so much!  So their all inclusive drink package (beer, wine, and liquor) is limited as to liquors and you pay for the upgrades per drink. Do you remember if they did the same thing with wines?  It looks like all of those beers are included.

    Again, Thank you!

  8. Can you please give me an idea of what they offered in the way of wines, beer and spirits?

For spirits, especially the scotch and bourbon whiskeys.

And, what do they offer for bubbles?

We are planning on a Feb 2025 trip to Antarctica.

Thank you and thank you for sharing your experience!

It's actually not too bad! It's two 5oz containers of vanilla Greek yogurt, a tub of lite cool whip, a box of yellow cake mix and mini chocolate chips! That's it. Serving with sliced up apples, strawberries and graham crackers.

I was about to ask what it was....

    Looks (and sounds) awesome!

We are pretty lame here at the Greenpea Ranch when it comes to the Super Bowl. I like to tune in for the half-time ads. Mr. Greenpea like to watch maybe a half an hour's worth of the game. But we of course must CELEBRATE. So early morning grocery run for nachos ingredients to slobber over and of course a couple blenderfuls of frozen margies will be imbibed.

    It's all about the commercials............

Up early this morning to smoke 14 lbs of pork butt.  We have found it is easier to cook two and freeze the pulled pork into two-person portions.

OMG !! Doing this tomorrow for the Super Bowl, which DH and DS1 say they are refusing to watch, since they want them both to lose (rolling eyes emoli)
