  1. This is crazy last November we booked a 10th floor Ocean view balcony room on Harmony for $1500. Booked ocean view balcony on Symphony this November for $2000 with $200 on board credit.

Was looking at Symphony again for next year, and prices are now, $5000 for a similiar room. Talk about sticker price shock, I have no idea what is going on here.

you gotta catch it a the right moment. On July 4th I booked us into an inside cabin on Allure for $1,600 total (3 people). 3 weeks later the same cabin for 3 people was pricing at $3,042.

I bought directly on RCI's website.

  2. You can get free coffee or tea at international cafe with a coffee card. However in the past you could use card on future cruises (without free coffee benefit) but now coffee card expires when cruise ends

hmmm' date=' but first I'd have to [b']pay [/b]for the coffee card. Why pay when I can enjoy FREE tea and coffee for FREE?

  3. that's the one thing I don't like about Princess: you get delicious pastries at the International Cafe, but if you want free tea or coffee, you have to go to the Horizon buffet to get them. Very inconvenient.

On RCI ships we loved getting tea and pastries at the Promenade Cafe without having to run all over the ship.

  4. while my own DS does not go to kid's club by his choice, our friends' kids have loved Princess kid's club above all other kid's clubs. They have cruised since they were 3 and are now 11 and 9, and still love going to the kid's club.

  5. we didn't have a parade in Nov 17, and I don't really care whether we did or not.

However, the Baked Alaska treat was renamed into Bomba Diplomata. That was weird.

I don't care for it anyway.

  6. I sailed on the Regal Princess when she was fairly new, she was a lovely ship despite the awkward time when you realize the central staircase is "missing". We (my mother/her sister and myself) enjoyed our cruise but wasn't our favorite.

it is no longer missing. They installed a central staircase, and we enjoyed using it in November 2017.

The thing is - we didn't know it was missing when it was actually missing. Didn't make a difference to us, and I've only read about the lack of central staircase and how it bugged some people on cruisecritic boards.

  7. This thread concerned the pax having a health issue that she would only bring to the doctor's attention AFTER sailing. The bottom line is the last place to be with a medical situation is a cruise ship. They know this and don't want you on the ship when it happens.

well, if general health being in tip top shape were a prerequisite for cruising, older people in general and some younger people with chronic issues wouldn't be cruising at all.

  8. Take a look at Oasis and Allure. Quite reasonable prices on the 2 older sisters much of the time. The younger sisters Harmony and Symphony are commanding a premium.

it's interesting... I booked the 3 of us into an Allure inside cabin for $1,600 total during the Kids Sail Free event at the beginning of July. 3 weeks later the same cabin is $3,042 for 3 people. What a difference! I think I totally stumbled upon a sale by chance.

  9. Please share your experience with these two cruises. Is the kids club or activities better on one vs the other. My older two will probably use the kids club, the baby will hang out with us while we drink  Judge if you want, I just want to have fun!

well, I haven't been on either ship, but my 7 yo kid doesn't do kid's club, so he usually goes everywhere with us. Happy hour and bingo included.

He's been cruising since he was 3... So, I am not judging when a kid hangs out with you while you are drinking, but the question is - is the drink package worth it, if you are not going to max it out?
