  1. might want to triple check with them. Wouldn't want them to cancel it because they can get more money for the same room.
  2. I didn't. Online confirmation is good enough for me.
  3. it's not like it's a tiny beach. It's quite long - if you don't like one spot due to crowds, just move a bit to an empty spot.
  4. what exactly do you mean by family friendly? Shallow water? Activities on the beach and in the water? When we went to Aruba with our then 5 yo who is now 13, we enjoyed the beach in front of Divi Phoenix hotel. He enjoyed it at 5 and at 13 equally. Both this beach and the Eagle beach in front of Coco Loco were safe.
  5. we were not super impressed https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2857694-a-few-post-cruise-thoughts-about-may-2022-allure-southern-caribbean-sailing/page/2/#comment-63351761 so we went to Divi Phoenix hotel (across from the butterfly farm) and it was much better. We loved that place back in 2016, our first time in Aruba. Yes, it is a lot more crowded, because it has palapas and it's a beach right in front of the hotel. We still liked it better. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/3002524-a-great-first-cruise-on-celebrity-reflection-review-dailies-menus-food-and-cabin-pics-march-2024/page/4/#comment-67251034
  6. just checked ES for next April, $420 per night.
  7. I did, thank you. I also wonder what fellow CruiseCritics think.
  8. and it's freezing in there all the time. Kind of nice if you are stepping in from the hot Caribbean air, though.
  9. we are cruising during my birthday next year, what code?
  10. Wasn't this function disabled some time ago?
  11. anyone stay at either? There are like 3 CC reviews mentioning Sleep Inn, none too specific.
  12. yes, they now have a cashier in the front who gives you an armband no, but they brought us a "welcome drink" pp this time. Wasn't great. I wish they included wifi in the $20. I think that it would be reasonable to expect either food credit or wifi, or both in the entrance fee. But, perhaps, that's why they are not crowded anymore (not that they were crowded in 2019). $60 for 5 people taxi, $20 pp, and $60 to get back is quite pricy, especially without any food and/or wifi.
  13. we were there last November, with 7 ships in port, and it wasn't crowded. We were there again 2 weeks ago, and it wasn't crowded. But it's fine if you don't believe me.
  14. not before the pandemic, though. Our first time there after the pandemic was last November, and that's when we first discovered the charge. We still like it - it's nowhere near as busy as some beach clubs in Cozumel, and it's still a lovely, sandy beach with clear, shallow-ish water.
  15. it was bad with Enchanted and some Carnival ship in port. It was our first time in Mahogany Bay, and my teen never wants to go back. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/3013301-enchanted-princess-review-june-1-2024-western-caribbean-with-food-pics-dailies-and-more/page/2/#comment-67513252
  16. we were there the first week of June, didn't get bitten. We walked to the beach, but we spent most of the time in the water. However, it was hot as hell and super crowded.
  17. You enter the water, walk about a yard, it gets deeper (definitely over 5'), but not like OMG!, you swim for about a yard, and then it gets shallow again and stays shallow. My dad, who can barely walk and has bad everything, did just fine. Here, this should give you a really good idea:
  18. Playa Palancar is now $20 pp, but you get a lounger under the umbrella for that. And a beautiful uncrowded beach. No wifi, though. Fish and chicken tacos were good. Taxi from where Enchanted was docked 2 weeks ago was $60 each way for 5 of us. Taxi from where MSC was docked last November started at $35 negotiated before getting into the taxi and magically became $45 en route. Surprise!
  19. it's now $20 pp. June 2024 https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/3013301-enchanted-princess-review-june-1-2024-western-caribbean-with-food-pics-dailies-and-more/page/2/#comment-67514546 November 2023 https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2976841-2023-thanksgiving-on-seascape-fantastica-experience-menus-dailies-etc-first-time-on-msc/page/3/#comment-66543137
  20. we did the Pirate Bay Beach club on our very first cruise to Curacao. It was just very underwhelming. There are much more beautiful beaches in Curacao.
  21. you are very welcome! You know, JamieLogical has recently written a fantastic live Enchanted review which is way more detailed than mine. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/3004747-jamielogicals-live-from-the-enchanted-princess-54/
  22. Thank you! Planning to be there in November, but will probably try a different beach (club). Sorobon beach was sooooo crowded there in April, like never before. We couldn't enjoy ourselves in the water because of the windsurfers, many of whom were inexperienced and coming too close to the swimmers. Too close for comfort.
  23. well, since he is now an adult, he can participate in pretty much ALL of the activities Carnival schedules for adults (except for the ones involving alcohol). Nobody needs to hold his hand and have him participate in organized activities for teens like scavenger hunts, teen karaoke, teen dance parties, etc.
