  1. Thank You - That is exactly what I have done on other cruise lines and am glad it will work with Celebrity as well.
  2. We have a 15 day cruise booked for this December on the Panama Canal and I am kicking myself now that I didnt pay the $450 total to upgrade to Premier at the time of booking. At the time we realized we would have a decent chunk of OBC for drink upgrades so we didn't bother. Fast forward a few months and we want to upgrade this package. We realize now that we will drink the wine at dinner a decent amount and we will use the specialty dinners and picture package. We also like the thought of reserved seats for the shows . 1)What are the chances of any type of sale on this upgrade between now and sailing. Thinking July 4, Labor Day..... 2)current rate is $600 total for 15 days but there is a note that concerns us. The note says package upgrade could impact your overall cruise fare. We do not want to increase our cruise fare to get this package. How do we find out what will happen to our fare without having to book and cancel the upgrade? TIA MattnTricia
  3. Can you change device that is attached to the premium? I am going to connect my phone to but would liek to use laptop occasionally also.
  4. We have a dining package - I did not see if it could be used at Sushi on 5. I was hoping we could order Ala Carte up to a certain amount with the package....If not I think I want to book it for day one. TIA
  5. Exactly what we are thinking. Also considering if Decoy CAB readily available for a $2-3 upgrade per glass may not need it anyway. The cost to do the upgrade is about $350 total for us which is not terrible since we got a bargain on the cruise. It just bothers me that the things I would want based on the Premium upgrade although listed are not a guarantee to be there or readilly available. For instance I have read Gold Peak teas were available on one thread. This is perfect as they are calorie free bottled teas which we drink at home. Another thread it is Arizona teas and most of these are flavored teas with sugar which we don't drink.
  6. I have been scouring the forums and am struggling to see if we should upgrade from classic package to Premium Our big decision maker will be the wine available to premium, Availability of things like sugar free red bull, premium waters(for the wife) and bottled teas for me. Can anyone help me with bar menus for the eclipse. as I am trying to figure out if we should just bring on a few bottles of wine for dinners or upgrade to the premium from classic. My wife doesn't drink much so wine will probably be the determining factor. Thanks in advance.
  7. We won a $250 from door. We didn't see it pop up on our door - just the congratulations. But it showed up on our bill. We enjoyed the fun of seeing the congratulations on the door when we opened it but looking at the bigger picture I am guessing this is a very nice profit center for princess and not something I would pay extra for if it wasn't bundled with the premier drink package we wanted. The drawing was pretty weak with 4100 people on board Discovery Princess and only like 3-4 small $25-$100 winners and the Grand Prize of $5000.
  8. Thank You for the Spa Menu - That was very helpful!! One more ? - With the ship being full my wife and I are considering how often to do the sanctuary. vs just trying to get good spots in the retreat area. Did you notice how busy it was in the retreat area while you were on board? Was the sanctuary comfortable when the ship was at sea as I know the air temp can be cooler on the way to and from Mexico.
  9. Got upgraded for $60/pp to go to a Deluxe Balcony from a standard Balcony. We did it to get the slightly better room with the couch and a bit more space. Actual ship location was not as good though. We were hoping for the suite upgrade we bid on but did not get it.
  10. HBCcruiser - Thank you so much for this thread. We will be getting on next Saturday and you have gotten us super excited to be on this beautiful ship. Any chance you have a copy of the lotus spa menu and or have you seen any info on the patters about spa specials on port days? Thanks again for this fantastic thread.
  11. As an FYI we had this same issue with one of our 3 gift cards. Princess makes it really hard as they will not take visa gift cards and it has to be a princess gift card. We had 2 $500 GC go through with no issue and then a 3rd that both the cruise line and Princess said was invalid. 5-6 phone calls and much persistence later I finally got a supervisor at Princess who could contact the right person. Very frustrating as Princess treats their own gift cardsl ike they are from a 3rd party.
  12. Thanks for the feedback. Your experience is 100% exactly what we are looking for. We would also upgrade to Caymus on our La Mer / Crown Grill nights as it is a prefect compliment to Steak.
  13. Thanks for the response - I am pretty friendly and will smooze the staff to try and figure out how to get the something I like. Hoping that they will open what they have in bottles if they are out of the committed premier wines. The though of Duckhorn Paradux or Silverado Cab or Seghesio Zin or Rombauer Chardonay would absolutely made the additional cost we paid for premier worth the upgrade.
  14. We are on the Discovery Princess for the 11/19 Thanksgiving Cruise. We definitely like good wine and part of the reason for upgrading was the the ability to get better quality wines. Can anyone comment if availability has improved in the last month or so? We are hoping Discovery will have a few of the selections we have seen on Menu's like Rombauer Chardonay, Decoy Cab.................
  15. Sounds like Crown it will be with a few surprises to go with it. Thank You
  16. I am looking for some anniversary suggestions for our upcoming November Discovery Princess Cruise. We will be doing all Specialty Restaurants suring the cruise and my wife is just assuming we will be doing the crown grill for dinner on our anniversary. We are more or less Princess Newbie's with only one cruise under our belt many moons ago. 1) Any better idea than Crown Grill ? 2)Anyway to make Crown Grill more Special? 3)Any suggestions for after dinner? I am typically pretty good at surprises but I am struggling a bit on this one . Any ideas / Suggestions would be appreciated. We are a late 40's couple and we are celebrating our 1st Anniversary.
  17. I understand the forum rules but am very interested in how to find out about this sale. Would someone mind messaging me the travel agent as we have a princess booking and are interested in another. Thanks
  18. I have yahoo / google searched and come up pretty thin for discovery princess patters Is there a website someone could reccomend?
  19. Can anyone help me find a location with cruise Patters - We are sailing the Discovery Princess out of the Mexican Riviera over Thanksgiving. We would also be interested in other ships that have sailed this itinerary as we know DP has not sailed it yet and the current Alaska Patters may be different than the Mexican Riviera ones Is there any set schedule for which nights are the formal nights and when lobster is served in the main dining room? It looks like Princess will tender in Cabo like most other ships. We want to go to Sand Bar at Medano Beach for a massage. It says we arrive at 7AM. Would it be realistic to make Sand Bar by 9AM including the tender and ferry to Medano from the Marina? We are celebrating our anniversary on board. We are leaning towards a chops reservation. Any other suggestions to make the night special? Thanks in advance
  20. We did the upgrade to Premier on our upcoming Thanksgiving Cruise on the Discovery. It came out to about $20 a day ($290 for 2) for the upgrade. For us it was a no brainer. I drink mostly Cab at dinner and the upgrade to the Napa Cabs they have listed are a no brainer. We also plan to do 2-3 Specialty dinners anyway and purchase some pictures as my wife loves the opportunity to pick and choose without feeling gouged to buy them 1 at a time. We should break even or get real close to it without even mentioning the benefit on not having to do the wifi dance as we will both have 2 items connected. In the end the opportunity to get our pictures, prepay for our specialty restauraunts and get the upgraded wine I want should make it worthwhile.
  21. We are only seeing an individual cost for this feature on our upcoming Thanksgiving cruise for $149 for the unlimited package on the princess website Is it likely we will see a discount on this? Shouldn't there also be a couples option that is less expensive? If the couples discount still exists how would be book it? Thank You for any help
  22. We were on this cruise and equally disappointed in the fact we missed getting to go see the glaciers. In a nutshell 4800 passengers were inconvenienced due to the immaturity of one teenager. My wife and I are both glad that the ship got him the help he needed but it doesn't change the fact that we were disappointed in the situation. As an FYiI we did go to Mendenhall as we had originally planned and it is nothing like the pictures our friends took on the previous cruise touring the Endicott Arm. We enjoyed it and learned a lot but it was not a substitute for missing a vital part of the cruise which is the viewing of glaciers from the ship. Royal definitely could have communicated better also as the Juneau gangway earlier opening was not broadcast to the staterooms and we missed at least one hour in port due to their lack of good communication. Would $100 or a few free drinks have improved our frustration over the itinerary change? Probably not However a small token from Royal letting us know as passengers they were sorry for us missing out on something they know all of us were looking forward to would have been nice.
