The schedule said she was sailing at 5PM. Maybe someone goofed?
Big plume of smoke from Equinox, you're definitely getting ready to go.
-
Thank you also, TravelBluebird for answering my question. I see Connie hasn't moved yet. wonder are they waiting for someone? Maybe you'll have a race.....and they're off........🤣
You seem to be having a good time already. Yes, it's nice to meet people from the roll call eventually. I talked to an Australian woman for 18 months before we met on the cruise from Honolulu to Sydney and it was amazing to finally meet. We still keep in touch and that was 14 years ago.
I really admire you not having lunch on a cruise and being careful about desserts also. I usually gain about 3# because I love to eat food I haven't prepared myself. Funny, during this awful COViD period, people are talking about gaining weight. I am losing because there's no cruises for us at the moment.
Have a fabulous time.

We were on Edge two weeks ago and my DW and I watched the video on my IPhone together.
Thank you so much. Now with all the apps etc, it looks like DH will have to do the check in etc. hee hee. I always did all that on line.

I see on the webcam that Connie is there with you and she is to sail an hour earlier. I really like to watch other ships departing while we are waiting.
BTW, can the 2 of you watch the safety drill on the one app? I ask because I don't have a cell phone and you think you're a dinosaur for using an SLR camera?

I believe the operative word is “ built”. Actually built. Not just considered built to receive an exemption. I certainly hope that we can get this all worked out for both our countries. Alaska is a magical place and we love sailing out of Vancouver.
So do we!

Sad to say, I use one of the big online cruise selling websites and they are much, much worse than Celebrity. We have booked dozens of cruises with them but the service has been so horrendous that for now we are only booking direct until we can find a good TA. Got a lot of perks over the years (extra OBC, specialty dinners, etc..) but just can't justify staying with them anymore. And as it is, their current perks are next to nothing anyway.....so if you have a good TA they can definitely be an advantage. The kind we had/have - definitely a disadvantage.
I know who you're talking about. I left a message once for them to call me as I wanted to add a B2B in my same cabin. They didn't call back for 3 days and you know the end of the story. My cabin was gone. I, too have left them and wish I could tell you where I have gone.

Does this only apply only to booking on board? I did not book on board and I lost my $100 OBC, but I still have to phone them to see if it was an oversight.
-
I lost my OBC of $100 on a $456 price drop and wondered if it was an oversight. I don't have the heart to spend hours on hold to find out, so I will wait till the sale is over.
I got an email yesterday telling me there was only one day left on the sale. I feel this was dishonest because they (and I) knew this was not true. Cruise Critic had already announced the sale extension. They're the best.

Bit drippy here. We're experiencing the most rain today since January!
But I'm warm and dry inside enjoying Cruise Critic.

So happy you made your flight. Even if the seats were not the greatest......you were on the plane! Don't you love Bonvoy points.
I'm sure you'll sleep well tonight after DH's Mario Andretti driving skills and all that worry about making the plane on time. Then you'll be fresh as a daisy tomorrow to board Equinox. Have a wonderful cruise.
-
I am so sorry this has happened to you. I'd have no nails left.
WNcruiser beat me to it! I'm sure you'll be joining the "day ahead flyers" if you haven't already.
I hope you can phone Southwest now to get a seat on the later flight. I imagine there will be mad scramble for seats on that flight. Can they fill the plane or do they have to observe distancing?
I will be watching you sail so make sure you wave! I'll be at my desk which is where I sail from these days. Drat.

EatonDoolittle, you make me laugh.
We have never sailed with Captain Kate and we would love to meet her. A personable Captain makes for a happy ship. I am always impressed by women who do a competent job in an occupation I couldn't even dream of.

I held for 2 hours also, with nothing happening. I called the customer service number 1-800-556-8209 on the cell while keeping on holding on the land line (Captains Club) and got through to them in 20 minutes. This was at 2PM Pacific time. I got my lower price. It took about an hour, as Jennifer had to call someone else and wait for them. At the end of the whole transaction, the land line was still thanking me for my patience! We feel service has disappeared everywhere, not just Celebrity, because of COVID.

we had our April cruise from Tokyo to Singapore cancelled months ago by Azamara. Soooo disappointing.
Yes, the cherry blossoms are amazing especially at night when they are back lit and people picnic beneath them, everyone having a great time.
-
I feel so sorry for everyone who has just received their cancellation letters. We have had 10 cruises cancelled. I just about pulled the trigger yesterday on an Edge Caribbean next Jan to take advantage of the 20% off sale. Then I got cold feet thinking about testing positive (by some fluke) at the end of the cruise and having to quarantine 14 days in the US before returning home. So I didn't book. We are hoping to get a third shot soon.

I'm drooling over that Greek menu. Thank you for the description of the dessert, tgg. I didn't know what it was and said I would have the Baklava.
-
Any time I have seen a price reduction, I have had to contact my TA. As Goofy said they have lots of work to do and it is up to us to ask. I have gotten the lower price but sometimes they also lower their OBC as a lower price means less commission for them.

We are fans of Spa cafe but not as much as in the past..There is no more made to order Salmon for lunch which was the best on the ship.!
Oh, I forgot about the salmon. Yes it was great.
Oh, the card players. Why aren't they asked to leave for the lunch hours? I often see people standing waiting for a table and these selfish people are oblivious. We usually keep an eye out for people looking for a table and I go over to them and ask if they would like to join us. We have made some great friends that way.

Thank you so much TravelBluebird for doing this on your first Celebrity cruise. Most of the blogs lately seem to be in suites so it will be wonderful to see one in AQ class which is what we usually book. Fingers crossed that you will be negative. Our son lives in TN and he has told us COVID is pretty bad there.
Bon Voyage and Bon Appetit in Blu.

there are lots of options for dining besides the buffet or avoid at the prime times. We have enjoyed Aqua Spa Cafe
I also enjoy the Aqua Spa cafe. This is our go to place on embarkation day as few know it exists and others think it is for AQ people only. DH likes to have a hamburger so he goes up to the burger place and carries it down. One day one of the servers with a sense of humor told him he was not allowed in the spa cafe eating food like that!

I love the way the Caribbean gets the rain over with instead of dribbling all day as it does here sometimes.
Wow, you gained 7# already? Even with all that walking? No wonder, the food looks awesome.

We were supposed to be on the Silhouette, sailing to Iceland right now but it was cancelled, so thanks to you we are sorta sailing, although we were only in AQ. I hope you have a great time and you are able to see the cruise through the eyes of a first time cruiser....very special for your son's GF to be in the penthouse on a lovely ship for her first cruise.
Where are you sailing to?
Bon Voyage.
