  1. We cruised on the Regal in April 2018 and we did not have to fill out the health form that you usually fill out on embarkation. They said they were not doing that anymore. This was not our first cruise with Princess.

I was on the Regal in March and I did not have to fill it out because I did mine online as I was in the medallion section of he ship and everything was done online in advance. Smoothest and quickest boarding ever .

  2. I sometimes look at the route and pick which side will have sunset on the most sea days . On my upcoming cruise , there are two north bound sea days so I picked a port side cabin .

  3. Princess also ruined the Retreat Pool by surrounding it with cabins. No ocean view. I wouldn't book the Sky or the Majestic.

I am very curious about what the layout will be around the retreat pool. They is a lot of potential to make it a great area but it could easily go from a win win to a lose lose .

  4. There are some apps you can download and I have to find the link for the setup of your profile . You actually do not need the actual device to do any of it as the information is never loaded onto it . It just pulls the data from their server . So yes you can do a lot in advance and without it in hand. Having it confirms you can actually link to your specific cruise .

  5. How soon do they inform you? We actually start our holiday two weeks earlier and may or may not pick up any email. Don't have a cabin yet, holding a gty.

About a month before as they will ask i you want the medals sent to you a week before or if you want it at the pier . If you have it ahead of time it will speed up your check in process if you have set up the account etc.

  6. They will send you an email in advance . When I was on it, the cabins that were in the pilot were forward on high ( Lido / Marina etc. So depending on your cabin you may or may not have it .

  7. We were in Cozumel on Friday on Regal and they cancelled all excursions to the mainland with a full refund. We only got about 30 mins notice, which was a bit annoying, but totally understand why the decision was made.

That is what I was fearing / expecting . We are scheduled to be in Cozumel in a couple of weeks on our Regal cruise . We have an excursion scheduled through Princess that requires the ferry. I guess we wait and see if anything changes .

  8. Sound like Carnival’s Faster to the Fun program. On Carnival they offer a limited amount of slots supposedly based on how many Platinum / Diamond passengers there are. The more in these two categories the fewer the slots . In addition, they have priority boarding , but not above Platinum/ Diamond .

  9. It really depends on what time of year it is and the duration . Longer cruises will tend to attract an older crowd. I take a day cruise around spring break every year and although the demographic maybe slightly older then Carnival for instance not overly so. However on a recent 10 day to the Panama Canal , there were less then 10 kids under 18 and the average age was significantly older then I am used to. Not to disparage , it I joked with my mom who herself is in her 70s that it looked like a sea of cotton balls in the theater and although I myself am in my early 50s I was on the younger end of the scale at the platinum / elite party .

  10. I should know this but I just haven’t given much thought to any potential price differences for preordering items such as 5 for 4 beer ($25.30) and coffee cards ($35.65).

These prices are as they appear on our cruise personalizer. How do they compare to onboard prices? Seems like I recall there is a small difference given the gratuity but I’m not sure.

I am not sure that there is a significant difference if any. Certainly not enough to stress over it IMHO. I do prepurchase things like beer or flowers etc . Mostly because I don’t want to touch the OBC for things I already know I will purchase , but that’s just me . Where I have seen differences in the price before a cruise is with certain excursions and the occasional photo offers . With excursions I noticed 5-10 dollar difference on board , but this may vary based on the ship/itinerary.
