  1. It was available two weeks ago on the Royal as one of the pasta choices. Unfortunately, no one at our table ordered it so I don't know if it was good or not. However, we think Princess always does pasta right, so I'm sure it was probably delicious :)

I concur, it was on the menu and it was ordered at our table and I fact it became the main course for my mom as she order extra and cancelled her main dish.

  2. Thats good news. Glad to hear they fixed that. Were just off the royal a few weeks ago when it was friday the 13th. I was thinking about putting a 13 sticker on the deck 14 button as a joke. I was concerned security may not find it funny.:p Enjoy the cruise.

I was also on the 11/10 cruise and the elevators were already synced as the OP described. As for me the elevators were a non-issue unless you tried to get one near Princess Theater after a show and that is the case on any ship with any cruise line .

  3. Same with our recent sailing on the Regal in Dec. Wife was happy. ;)

My wife enjoyed it on the Regal as well. The Zumba class was the day we were in St Martin and docked alongside the freedom of the Sea and the Zumba Class was being held in the center of the main pool area. Between the extra large video screen that dwarfed the RCCL ships screen , the music and location, it was obvious that the passengers of the Freedom were "Royally" jealous.

  4. I saw the Glory when we pulled into St Thomas. I have to admit I was a bit tempted to sneak onboard so that I could get a Guys Burger. I did run into some passengers from your ship at the little bar near the casino at the port. They were a bit rude to the bartender and I would not have been surprised if they would have missed the ship.

  5. Can you share if you were required to take the life vest to the muster drill? We board tomorrow and this would help us plan where we need to be beforehand. My parents are coming and it would help know if we have to run back to our cabins on Lido deck or if we can hang out near the atrium / plaza.

  6. We have been on 3 Princess cruises out of Fort Lauderdale in the last 12 months . So far we have had no issues parking at the pier and plan to do so again for our upcoming November cruise. Keep in mind that although there are 3 ships in port, they are all at different piers with separate facilities.

The only issue I can think of is if you plan on using one of the off port parking facilities that service all of the different cruise companies. If one of the two "Displacement of the Seas" are in port there might be some additional traffic in the area you may want to consider if using an off port facility.

  7. Some are active investors and calculate, others passive investors and happy with whatever benefits those 100 shares provide.

Each to their own way is how I consider it.

    Yes, we have 100 shares.

    Very well said. :)

  8. Sigh. Once again, you're getting 10% income from an investment, and if you're happy, great. But that's not the same as "return on investment." If you buy 100 shares of the stock in January, you then get $250 in OBC and $100 in dividends, but the share price drops by $4 over the year, which has certainly happened before (over 2011, it dropped $13 per share), your actual return on investment is a negative.

Now, if you like me figure you're never ever going to sell the stock, share price is essentially irrelevant. But both income and principal are figured into the rate of return on any investment.

Exactly. If I sell at all , I do not plan on selling until I have recouped between dividends and OBC at least what originally put in . BTW for what it's worth , I never meant ROI.

  9. My current planning will get me between 250 to 500 in OBC per year (tax free) , plus $100 per year in dividends. So I am getting about >10% per year return. I am happy with that. In fact I have gotten a large part of what I invested back already.

  10. It's possible to get to both ends of the ship and still avoid the casino. Use a different deck. Another thing (I have been known to do) is take a deep breath and then walk through quickly. :) That said, Princess has the least amount of smoke compared to Carnival, so those of us on the west coast can choose between the two sailing out of Los Angeles and environs. Princess also has a better casino, generally, which goes smoke-free on formal night.

I also hate the smell of cigarette smoke in the casino. My DW and I sailed on the CB twice this summer and we would just walk out onto the promenade to avoid the casino. No smell and much better view. To be honest I prefer the layout of the Crown Princess. Essentially , you don't have to go anywhere near the casino if you don't want to.

  11. Not all past guest fares are available to other CCL / World Leading Cruise passengers. You have to keep in mind that although all of these companies are owned by Carnival Corp , they only use the term World Leading Cruise Lines for marketing purposes. They are not organized like airline alliances. I realized this when I was about to take my first Princess Cruise. I was not eligible for many past guest fares even though I was already platinum on Carnival. To a certain extent I do understand the rational, given the diversity in offerings between their different cruise lines (e.g. Carnival to Cunard to Seaborn) it would be difficult to come up with a scheme to allow for aligned benefits.
