  1. Fingers crossed. They should I hope have one cheese I like , the isle of Wight blue. It's on room service menu. Asked about it in April but got no real response, never appeared. As QG was full when we booked and were in PG , didn't know if the if it's on the ship they will get if for you rule applied. However as back to QG this time will be insistent.
  2. 99.9% of shareholders will approve , according to .......
  3. Glad to hear cheese has improved on our April cruise it was abysmal, I put that down to last leg of world cruise. They said supplies had beèn flown into Capetown, but I doubt it. But no soft cheese except brie , which was too young or most likely kept to cold over long cruise to let it mature. Hopefully sailing out of Southampton should be back to normal standard.
  4. Comiserations, get well soon , but unfortunately the better you feel the more stir crazy you will get. Is it definitely Saturday release or do they let you out if you test negative for two days. Are Cunard randomly testing people , or only those that come forward with symptoms?
  5. On QM2 in April our captain's party was 11.15am , we choose not to go. Even if it is at a more sensible time in June, will follow Victoria2 example and avoid a crowded room, who needs another glass of cheap bubbly. On the otherhand a crowded dance floor would be a pleasure . Although I'm very much in favour of forgetting Covid and getting on with it. Avoiding unnecessary crowds is sensible. Therefore regarding the terminal overcrowding, I think Cunard should be contacting everyone and emphasising the instruction not to turn up early.
  6. We didn't have officer hosted tables last year , I think I may go for speciality dining on formal nights.
  7. Nevermind FOMO I will try and book online as soon as it opens. If we can't get what we want will try as soon as we get on. Question once you board is it better to Go straight to the Epicurean Or Can you book at suites/peninsula club lunch Or Go straight to Pursers desk
  8. Second question , it says Butler can help you by booking restaurants for you Does this mean they can do it if you dont want to use app. Or does it mean Butlers have access to reserved slots
  9. Keeping out of arguement. What is process for booking online. Say you want a few Epicurean nights. Do you have to - book night 1, slot A and pay for it , then night 2 slot B and pay for it, then night 3 slot C and pay for it. Or can you book all the nights and slots you want and pay at end.
  10. Commodore or Captain your choice, but check on board if the wines you like are in stock before committing to one or other.
  11. The sole and rack of lamb were plentiful on our April PG cruise , used quite a lot when there was nothing we fancied on main menu. If no sole my wife would be very disappointed. The cheese selection was abysmal throughout the ship. Very boring , cheddar , brie (far to hard) ,Danish blue not Stilton. No decent soft cheeses, no Lancashire, it was like a third rate chain restaurant. I complained but nothing they could do, I put it down to last leg of world cruise. This time in 10 days we are back to QG , if the cheese selection is as poor don't know what to do, will test it on boarding lunch. Dont think will have time to make a dash to nearby M&S food hall. Will let them know how I feel. I thought Cunard had deliberately stopped flambes and off menu ordering g in PG to emphasise the difference with QG
  12. Thanks for clarification. So even Q1, Q2 are not escorted through security which the biggest potential hold up during embarkation. Once on ship happy to find cabin ourselves. I note that Saga escorts everyone to cabin.
  13. The problem is Cunard has a very blunt approach to priority arrival times. Too many people are given priority. Dont blame them it's a silly system.
  14. From what customer service said in reply to my query . It seems Cunard operate a strange system, arrival times are only Priority or non priority. So all the priority passengers (QG,PG,BC, and CWC ) come early and fill the arrivals hall. Embarkation is then called off in the order as described by many people above. This seems to be a recipe for a overcrowding, and some "priority" passengers waiting around far longer than they should. Especially now that boarding no longer seems to start early at 12.00
  15. I thought gratuities were included.
  16. Was there any checks , or just relied on honesty that no one jumped queue
  17. Thank you sarasailing for pictures of books back in library😁😁😁😁😁😁
  18. Thanks for picture of books in Library. 😁😁😁😁😁 Visby is our perfect port ,nice walk into town , it may not be grand but is beautiful
  19. For my last two cruises , April and now early June, my boarding pass just says Priority, no mention of QG or even just grills. So can't blame staff if they send you to wrong queue but does it mean you must keep saying Grills all the time, not what I like doing.
  20. Good advice , even if you are doubtful about the future cruise, move it, even if you don't use it Β£50 better off. Then if in future see one you really fancy move it again
  21. Great to hear they are still operating the 10K, last year on SOA it benefited Ukraine, fitting as it was originally black sea cruise. I think it was 21 laps , but felt like more. Jan the hotel manager was a runner and broke the hour, quite a few of us managed around 1.15, most of the walkers under two hours. For a ship of oldies a very good turn out. Raised about Β£1500. Who is it benefiting this year. Enjoy the cruise, think of the 10k as a good excuse to have an extra ice cream or double dessert.
