  1. I'm so sorry that happened to your parents. Is it possible their credit card may cover their losses? Some credit cards offer travel insurance. It may be worth a try. Good luck. I hope they are able to sail for a reduced cost in a few weeks.
  2. Please let us know. I'm looking at potentially putting in a bid and was wondering what is included.
  3. Hello. I was hoping for some guidance. My family (me, my husband, 2 young adults and my 11 year old) are looking to book a Southern European cruise. Based on our dates, I'm considering the Seaview and the Seashore. I was wondering if anyone has been on both and if you could share your thoughts on which may be better, I would greatly appreciate it!! We like both itineraries. Thank you!
  4. I can't wait! Look forward to meeting you:)
  5. I'm going to sailing on the Edge soon as part of a Blue Chip free veranda offer. I was wondering if this offer always includes free drinks while gambling in the casino or does that need to be stated in the offer. I don't see that listed as a benefit but have seen free drinks while in the casino mentioned quite a bit with these offers. I appreciate your thoughts.
  6. That's good news! Thanks for your replies. I appreciate it!
  7. Thanks:( I was wondering about text messaging on the app. On MSC you can message through the app.
  8. I'm hoping someone could please let me know if there is a way to communicate with the person I'm sailing with through the app or would I need to buy a 2 device wifi plan?
  9. I just booked through BCC this afternoon for the 10-day cruise on the Edge. I got an Infinite Veranda on Deck 8. I was told I didn't qualify for an upgrade even though there was a box I could check that asked if I would like to upgrade for a small fee. I was wondering, does anyone know if they provide free drinks while you gamble? I thought I had seen that as a perk but can't find it now.
  10. We brought my 11 year old to both shows. The first show he tried the kids cocktail but didn't like it because it has grapefruit juice. The second show my husband was able to get two of the specialty cocktails because my son wasn't taking one. I would recommend booking in advance. I would also recommend making your reservation early if you are on a 3 or 4 day cruise. When I called to make a reservation for the second show it was sold out and fortunately it was the same one for the next night or we would have missed it.
  11. I did not see any smoking in the casino. Also, they did not have a craps table this time which was surprising.
  12. I'm glad to hear this. I'll look at RC for our next cruise. I probably won't give up completely on MSC because we have had good experiences with them but will look around more.
  13. The baggage handlers told the people in front of us that the computer system was down. I believe that also may have played a factor. Several people we spoke to on the ship said they were being charged for their drinks even though they had the drink package due to a computer issue. I agree, this could have happened and sounds like it does happen on other lines but MSC didn't handle it well. I am sorry to hear this has happened to quite a few people with a first sailing back in the US or back in Europe. I won't make that mistake again.
  14. My family just got off the Meraviglia and it was a total nightmare. We were in line for 4 1/2 hours just to get on the ship. An older women in front of me actually passed out. We got there at 1:30 and finally boarded at 6:00. After boarding, I went to the MDR and waited for it to open at 6:30. People were still in line outside. It took 30 minutes and asking 3 people to get a glass of water and one hour later at 7:30 we had still only had one piece of bread. By the third night we ended up going to the buffet because dinner took so long. This is my 5th cruise with MSC and I can't believe our experience. I understand there are issued but it was really upsetting that they didn't seem to care at all. Eventually they ended up giving a $50 obc on the 3rd day. The clincher for my husband is when he went to get my son soft serve ice cream near the pool and was told they no longer offer free ice cream unless you have the drink package . Other issues included not getting the proper OBC and waiting hours in line to resolve that and trying to get on the internet. I've never seen so many unhappy customers on one cruise which even as we were trying to put the on-boarding experience behind us made it hard. Getting off the ship was unbelievable as well. We were walking off carrying our own luggage and the line was huge. It took 1 1/2 hours to disembark. I feel badly for those people that were on for their first cruise. I don't won't to write off MSC for good but hope no one else has this bad of an experience. The ship was full and they were maybe staffed for half that many people. The guy in luggage said for the people boarding today there will only be 2500 on board so it shouldn't be a problem. I hope they have a great experience.
  15. We took our son to the Pirate Museum and really enjoyed it. He was 10 at the time. My husband and I enjoyed it as well. I would recommend it.
  16. I was in cabin 10082 and our bed was near the balcony with sofa. I'm not sure how to tell which cabins would have the bed by the balcony but for some reason I thought it may be every other room but can't remember why I thought that. You bring your towels to the beach but when you go back to the ship you turn in your wet towels for a clean one. I"m not sure about meet & mingles. It is possible for the ship not to dock in Ocean Cay due to weather. I believe you would have an extra sea day.
  17. That looks amazing! Thanks for sharing. Do you remember which night that was? I'll be boarding this Thursday for just 3 nights and wouldn't want my 8 year old to miss this:)
  18. Thank you so much for your replies! I really appreciate it!!
  19. I've been assigned cabin 8235 on my upcoming Meraviglia 3 night cruise. I'm a bit concerned about noise that may come from the Carousel Lounge but with a guaranteed cabin I realize that's the risk I took and I'm hoping it'll be ok. If anyone has ever stayed in the rear side facing balcony cabins please let me know if noise was a real issue. I think I've read that the elevators at the back of the ship are for crew only. Does anyone know if there are stairs passengers can use or would we need to walk to mid-ship for stairs/elevators? I appreciate any thoughts. Thank you!
