Symphony of the seas alcohol question
Sea Dog replied to CruisingRealtor2018's topic in Royal Caribbean International
That's pretty bleak if you ask me. With all the effort they make to stock all kinds of wine, more and more people are getting into craft cocktails and top shelf liquor. I am surprised and disappointed that Royal hasn't noticed the trends and made adjustments. -
Yes. The two other couples are long time friends and coworkers of mine as reporters. One is Irish and likes Irish Whiskey so I will have some Red Breast 12 and Teeling for him. The other likes bourbon so we will have a tasting with some of my best. Rip Van Winkle 10, Whistle Pig Old World 12 and Whistle Pig Small Batch 10, E.H Taylor Small Batch, Blanton's and locally Ben Holladay Bottled in Bond Missouri Bourbon. For the ladies I'm going to pre batch, Espresso Martini's and Passion Aperol Spritz's. Dessert will be a death by chocolate dessert served with Godiva Dark Chocolate Martini's. For food I'm doing Starters a Caprese Salad with heirloom tomatoes with balsamic vinegar glaze reduction, and a Greek Orzo salad. Mains are my filet mignon with my special marinate along with twice baked potatoes and bacon wrapped asparagus. Hopefully I won't screw it up.

Symphony of the seas alcohol question

Following along as I will be on Symphony in September. The cruise planner says Buffalo Trace, Canadian Club, Jack Daniels, Jameson, Makers Mark, Whistle Pig Rye are on board but I hardly ever see whistle pig. I'm hoping for at least for some Templeton Rye, Makers, Four Roses and Buffalo Trace. I can find these easily in the stores so you would think that Royal could get it also. -
Good to know. I've ben a little nervous as I have heard some stories of the food not being very good. I really hope there are no supply chain issues and I will see all my favorite bourbon on board. We bought the UDP so I'm hoping that the food will be really good. Going to be hot all week here in Kansas City. I've got a dinner party that I'm throwing at my house for Saturday. Going to be grilling outside and the high is suppose to be 101 degrees. I was hoping for my guests to be able to sit outside on our patio after dinner and enjoy some cocktails. Now I think not.

Sorry I have been bad about posting and even taking new pictures. Here are some of the most recent. Napping. Outside. Charlie had really grown. Lizzy is still pint size. They are in "let's see what I can get away with stage." Our furniture is old and we are going to replace everything but they are determined to chew on the couch. We've tried everything including the sprays and even putting throw pillows in front to keep them away. Here is another video of them chasing butterflies. I apologize how our fenced in portion of the yard looks. They've pretty much killed all the grass. IMG_8322.m4v

To be honest I'm not sure but it's worth asking. I'm sure if you tell them it's your anniversary they might accommodate you. I really don't know how much their reservations fill up. We have had no problem making reservations for the CT.

So sorry Debbie this happened to Eric. I hope he recovers quickly. I always thought the Sacrum was called the "Tailbone." Wow so close. Too bad you couldn't stop there. Everyone who I know that has had Cuba as a port loved it. I think that would be the way to do it and so much fun. The Bourbon Trail is something I really want to do but you need time. With 37 distilleries, it's hard to pick just one favorite. Some are as close as eight miles and others are as far as 70 miles apart. That place looks incredible. How fun! Great news. I hope you have a fantastic cruise.

Spent the last two evenings with the representative from Rabbit Hole Distillery who was in town for some tastings. If you are not familiar with Rabbit Hole they make some incredible bourbon from Louisville KY. It's an interesting story in that their founder Kaveh Zamanianโs was a successful clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst. He met his wife who was from Louisville and once he went to the city fell in love with bourbon. He decided to open his own distillery and produced his own bourbon have never done it before. He created several different recipes that were all different and were based on craft beer recipes. So on Wednesday night we had a tasing at my good friends retail liquor store in the area. The room was packed to hear Rabbit Hole's rep explain the history, each bottle and how unique it was. 4 flights to taste "Cavehill," "Heigold," "Dareringer," "Boxergrail." My favorite is the Dareringer which is aged in sherry casks. This is amazing. If you get a chance to try these I think you you will love them. They are unique and very good tasting. Then last night The Kansas City Whiskey Guild for which I'm a member hosted the rep with another tasting of the Rabbit Hole brand in a new bar downtown called "Society." We had custom cocktails using the different Rabbit Hole brands and did some fun socializing amongst everyone. The highlight was watching two of our members spend $125 for a flight tasting of all the Pappy Van Winkle line of bourbons. These are considered by some as the "Holy Grail" of bourbon. I was surprised that the Rip Van Winkle 10 year (the cheaper bottle) beat out the older year Pappy's. It was a great time sipping and talking bourbon by everyone. Cheers!

This is great news! Thank goodness she's ok. Glad you found her. I've never seen a cat that likes to ride in a car. Congrats to Owen on his good grades. I did not know that there was an actual size to Kraken. That's a big sea monster at a mile and a half. I prefer mine in a glass. Looks like a great time. Love the rainbow.
