  1. Not really. Celebrity now allows 2 bottles per person, Oceania even more and while Cunard does have a limit the rumor is it is never enforced.
  2. Some countries still require vaccinations and I don't trust Royal to be accurate.
  3. We live in the cold north and look at cruising the Caribbean, at least for now, as a way to get out of the cold. The cost of hotels in Florida has gotten expensive. I agree with ports of call and TripAdvisor. Also agree with the comment that in St. Marteen either a ferry to Great Bay Beach or a taxi.
  4. You might look at your homeowner's insurance. Also, any other insurance policies you might have. The answer will probably be no, but it does not hurt to look. Unfortunately, there is almost no insurance that would cover these particular circumstances except possibly "cancel for any reason" travel insurance.

    Table for 2?

I am unfamiliar with the process. I assume that with the flexible option you can't reserve dining times prior to boarding. Once you board can you pre-reserve dining times for the whole cruise.

    Table for 2?

From what I've read here I am not exactly sure how flexible dining works on Cunard. On Celebrity and Royal if you select their version of flexible dining then they let you make specific time dinning reservations more than 5 months in advance. Like a regular restaurant there is a chance that if you have waited too long to book the particular time slot you would like it may be full and you have to pick another time. With their versions of flexible dining, you are almost always put at a table size of the number of people in the group. I.e., if there are 2 people in your group then a 2 top, 4 people a table for 4, etc. If you book the same time every night (eg, because you prefer to eat 1 hour later than the first seating) they strive to put you at the same table with the same waiters. This "can" work well as the waiters get to know the passengers and the passengers are more likely to provide an extra gratuity to the wait staff. Usually, the first night can be chaotic as many of the passengers are confused or want something specific, etc. After that it runs pretty smooth except that those who have not made a reservation may be given a beeper and have to wait 30 minutes to an hour for a table. They usually have 2 lines, one for those with reservations and one for those without. I relay the information here just for comparison with Cunard.

    Table for 2?

Not exactly sure why you say that. I travel in Britannia and prefer to have fixed time seating just to be sure to have the same table and waiter. We also request a table for 2 when we book. I have heard, but cannot confirm, that the earlier you request a table size the more likely you are to get the size you want. On some other cruise lines where they have open seating, I reserve a specific time months in advance to avoid walking up and possibly being handed a beeper.
  8. At $15 this is probably one of the lowest corkage fees around and personally I don't care if they charged me or not. What I am wondering about is whether or not they will properly store the bottle for me until the next evening if we do not finish it at dinner. Anyone know? We will be on Enchantment in a room without a refrigerator.
  9. On a cruise I have planned for January (Constellation) the app only shows lunch in the MDR on day 2. Either they will update the app closer to sailing or no MDR lunches on sea days except for day 2.
  10. I really like Oceania however I have not sailed on them since pre-COVID.
  11. I don't find the food that good on the island.
  12. Couldn't get the site to work for me.
  13. Once service starts to go downhill it usually continues that way almost in a death spiral. Quality goes down, potential passengers eventually realize this and start to abandon the brand, they have to reduce price to fill up the cabins and then to continue to make a profit they have to reduce quality further.
  14. FYI, aft on deck 12 they have movies playing and at the sunset bar on 10 they sometimes have music. You might want to look at a deck plan to see the Aqua cabins near those locations.
  15. Thanks to everyone for the insights.
  16. What about Venice? The cruise ship stops for a day in Florence for a day.
  17. Was this Britania? The description looks fine. Was the quality there?
  18. Just booked a TA cruise that ends in Rome. Would like to stay in Italy/Europe for around 5 days to a week before we fly home. Never been to Italy and do not speak Italian (or really anywhere else in Europe except England and Geneva). Looking for help.
  19. I will be very disappointed if this occurs on my QE cruise in June. The corporate people at Cunard/Carnival should make a decision of where they want to position Cunard. Do they want it to be another Carnival Cruise ship like experience or do they want to offer something a little more upscale, maybe like Oceania. There are only a small number of Cunard ships they can easily make it a little more upscale and just raise the prices a small amount and keep the quality of food high.
  20. Is it possible to walk to the terminal from the main road?
  21. This has probably been asked and answered before however could not find it. The planner says they pick a dinning time for the first night and you pick the rest of the nights once onboard. 1. Once onboard can I change the time and/or day for the first meal? 2. How fast do the other nights book up? 3. The web site says we get a 40% discount on bottles of wine. If we don't finish the wine will the ship store it for us, and can we have it in the main dining room the next night? The ship is Enchantment.
  22. Sailed inside room on Summit in June. Room was an OK size. There were robes. Even with only 2 of us at a table always seemed to take over an hour, however never asked the waiter to rush it. We had the AI internet access. It was absolutely the worst. Basically non-usable. At some point the onboard activities will show up on your phone app. Not sure we ever went to any of the shows. That was us. We actually liked the ship, it is considered on the smaller side these days but definitely enjoyable One thing though, we thought the regular coffee was undrinkable. The specialty coffees were fine but always seemed to be a bit of a line. Tuscan Grill was OK. If you have lots of OBC then the first night with a discount is fair.
  23. Not really interested in purchasing for the whole cruise however, might want an hour in the middle of a TA.
