  1. This is absolutely true for some flights. I happened to price out London to NY and one way $1700, rnd trp $600. However, now looking at Rome and one way is about the same price as round trip so no real savings.
  2. Tried air2sea. Prices were not great. It is a repositioning cruise so US to Europe in the spring, then I need to get home.
  3. Any thoughts on how to get lower priced 1-way Europe to US airfare?
  4. I know Balconies are always better however, are they really that useful for a late April early May TA?
  5. I agree, you were perfectly reasonable in your request.
  6. How quickly do the alternative dinning fill up. Will I have to rush to make reservations the first thing on-board (we will be traveling on the QE however I am guessing a similar system).
  7. I would like to hear if they offer a full refund for the 4 day cruise. However, for the 4 day cruise they should at least give you a future cruise credit for the full cost of the 4 day even if they won't give you the cash. I would try insisting on that. As others have said for the 10 night, they should give you a full cash refund if you can't find any reasonable alternative.
  8. Royal really needs a better IT department!!!!
  9. There actually IS a rule: "Please be advised that guests are allowed to bring on board one bottle per person for special occasions.". This is from the FAQ. However, what people are saying is that it is generally not enforced.
  10. Is this premium or basic wifi?
  11. If you are too far out there may not be a MoveUp page. In most cases Celebrity may not start accepting bids until closer to the sailing if they have a large number of unsold cabins. They can usually make much more money by selling a cabin directly to a new cruiser.
  12. Generally, if you are going to get a drink package then the AI makes sense. It tends to price out at the drinks package plus gratuities (or less) and wifi for free. On one of my cruises the classic package is $74.39 pp/night (this includes the gratuities). For 7 nights this would be $520.72. When gratuities are added it is $645 pp. AI would be cheaper. You can always buy the upgrade to premium if the math works.
  13. On occasion I have ordered two entrees because both are interesting, or if I am not sure if I will like one of them (I would just order one and if I don't like it order the second but it would take an awful amount of time for the second entree). I would be just as happy (maybe happier) if I could order a half portion of one of them however that is not an option. Celebrity MDR is just OK at the moment. If they go through with these changes, I will just stop sailing Celebrity and go with a better cruise line.
  14. I would not figure move-up biding into any calculation of room to get now. On any particular cruise the suites may be completely booked and therefore no chance of move-up. Also, the category you book now may not be full at sailing and therefore Celebrity would not want to move you. All that means is book the category you want NOW and look at the move-up as a lottery ticket with low odds.
  15. You never know however the marketing flyer from Celebrity says this current sale lasts through Dec. 1. Specific cruises may have their own adjustments.
  16. It is a different ship however, on Summit I found the regular coffee undrinkable, and I will drink almost anything. I am considering bringing some instant coffee from Mount Hagen on my next cruise rather than drink the regular coffee. I did find the espresso-based coffees at Bacio good.
  17. I am sure this has been asked in the past however wondering if there are different answers post COVID. Thinking about Aqua over a regular Veranda. To us the real difference is Blu and wondering how much better it is then the regular MDR. I realize this is somewhat subjective however would like to get some detailed feedback about the food differences.
  18. This exchange has now gotten me confused. On the QE, at the Lido, is there an option for sit-down dinner service at an extra cost?
  19. Very similar to Royal. Basically, same dress code. Except no formal nights, they have "chic" nights instead.
