I have used Princess’ shareholder claim details 4 times recently and the only hitch I had was having to wait 3 months from purchasing the shares to my first ‘claim’. I really don’t know why they’re not responding but I do know others have used their chat system to sort things out recently. Good luck..!

You have the correct email address and it does sometimes take a week or so. Once done you’ll get a new confirmation showing the extra OBC. Good luck 🤞

I tried refaring after final payment today as the cabin next door is £640 cheaper now and they were having none of it, even if I went from our inside to a suite at a cost of a few £000’s more 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️

There’s a lot of reports of creaking noises in Iona’s cabins. We had issues on 5 deck (balcony / mid ships).

We’re not bothering, just produce copies at the terminal 👍

Next summer my wife and I are sailing on the QM2 from Southampton to NY, then staying a week whilst she sails north for 7 days then re boarding for the return leg to Southampton. My question is, does anyone know if it possible to leave a suitcase or two on board for the week we’re in NY so that we don’t have to lug them around unnecessarily etc. Is it possible? Is there a charge? Any pitfalls? Thanks in anticipation 👌

You can bring in other goods worth up to £390 (or up to £270 if you arrive by private plane or boat). If you go over your allowance you pay tax and duty on the total value of the goods, not just the value above the allowance. Thats a total amount so not a single item situation. IIRC duty can be paid online up to 5 days before landing back in the UK to save time at the port. An example for you…. £5000 UK priced watch bought in Gibraltar at say £3500. A £1500 saving, but add the tax at 20% = £3500 + £700, therefore now £4200 so a great saving still. The alternative is to get caught at the port/airport and pay the tax plus a penalty and worse case scenario have the watch ‘impounded’ which is unlikely of course.

Recently bought a Radley handbag on board the Iona and it was cheaper in my local House of Fraser despite the on board discounts. Buyer beware! Also, don’t forget the import limits and tax that has to be paid. When I landed last in Southampton the customs guys were VERY busy checking luggage etc. If you buy an expensive watch on board for instance they will not inform you of the tax situation 😳
