    I’m not a smoker, but it’s on the forward port side of the pool deck, I believe (if the same as the other ships). Everyone always looks like they’re enjoying themselves, so I guess they’re not too uncomfortable!

    It depends. In general, the machines work well and I have found that going early is likely to be best. I imagine there are bigger queues on sea days

    Perhaps a TA on this board could explain what he said, because I didn’t really understand it. When I did a mock booking, the port taxes and fees were $249.65 pp. , but it came to $489 higher total. So I think they TAs see the pricing differently than we do.

    This is how he explained it: “The rate for the 2ndpassenger didn’t include the $489 non-commission fee, AKA port charges, that Azamara adds to each passenger cost. “

    My TA has usually knocked a little off the price (probably as you say, off their commission), but this was pretty significant on an already discounted transoceanic itinerary.

    Well, after all that, DH and I discussed the matter and decided to let him off the hook. Evidently, he had forgotten to add port charges, which he was going to cover. It was an excellent deal to begin with, so I have now emailed him back, telling him to go ahead and bill the correct (Azamara) amount. I’m sure that, going forward, he will scrutinize his quotes before sending them out!

    I have no idea what the policy was/is. I just know what I was quoted. He had evidently erred, but is honoring it.

    Well, it took 5 days, 2 emails, and a voice mail, but I finally got a response from my TA that he had indeed made a mistake in his pricing, but will honor the quote.

    I couldn’t agree more. There was a constant repeating loop of music on the pool deck last December on our Quest Christmas cruise and it drove me batty.

    That’s a great offer of OBC from your TA! I usually get a little off the published rates, plus some OBC from my TA, but it never matches Azamara’s

    Thanks for your responses. I did have the quote in writing, so I guess I will just wait and see. It was a considerable discount, which was why I e-mailed back the price to him to confirm as I accepted, and he emailed back that he had booked it. I’ll let ya’ll know what happens!
