  1. One more thing (although I can’t promise I won’t think of others)! I thought the food at White Night was good, but certainly not great.
  2. @the miceso glad you got your Canada fix! We were so glad to go back too. Love our neighbor to the north!
  3. On Quest in December, she was wait staff in Windows and Discoveries. So charming, always remembers your name. We missed her this time, but loved Fanni
  4. We had a lovely couple of days in Copenhagen, with excellent weather. The city was hopping, both with many cruise ships and with an abundance of other tourists because of the Tour de France. We left for home on 6/30, in advance of the start on 7/1. While there, we did a hop on/hop off bus circuit and a canal cruise and saw the changing of the guard at Amalienborg Palace, a MUCH less crowded affair than Buckingham palace! The food was good too, but such an expensive city!! And of course we had Smorrebrad!
  5. I think that captains don’t always “love” having to have pilots along.
  6. I agree, Phil. I imagine he has sailed it many times.
  7. Beats me! Just repeating what seemed to be his frustration! I have never been through the canal, so have no basis for comparison.
  8. Entered the Kiel Canal late, about 9:00 am?, and according to the Captain, it will be one of the slowest transits ever. He is not pleased with the local “jarheads”, as he is calling the authorities who are calling the shots. Says he will have to put the “pedal to the metal” to get to Copenhagen on time .
  9. Haven’t heard that on Quest, but we upgraded to Ultimate. Certainly hope that’s not true!
  10. On my current cruise, it has been a half hour before sail away
  11. What ship are you on? We had Kymberly on our last Quest cruise and miss her!!
  12. We managed to hop off the ship this morning and take the shuttle to near Central Station, where we grabbed some breakfast and had our canal cruise after all! Back on the ship in plenty of time for our 1:00pm sail away.
  13. The shuttle is right at the ship and took us into the center of Blankenberg. Very near the train station. There was a promotional special of 2 RT tickets to Brugge for 6.5 euros. Less than a half hour trip, if that. We did not really spend any time in Blankenberge
  14. Another thing to remember if you happen to have the Premium package (it came with our cruise), you can upgrade to ultimate for only $7 a day, which is a fantastic deal
  15. Whew! We had a day pass for the tram, but due to some routes closed due to construction, we still ended up walking a TON. Missed doing a rice table mainly due to google maps fails and low cell phone battery, but having not eaten all day we were famished by the time we got back to the ship. Enjoyed some excellent tapas in the Living Room and will be able to do a walk in at Aqualina tonight because it’s Destination Celebration night so low numbers there. We may or may not attend DC. Trying to decide whether to risk getting off the ship tomorrow morning for a possible quick canal tour
  16. Pretty sure that @uktogis a Fevertree gal 😉
  17. Just docked in Amsterdam. We are overnighting here, but due to port congestion, have to reposition tonight from the Passenger Terminal Amsterdam to the Scandia Ferry Terminal 3 (Valreep 13) until departure tomorrow. Apparently they are offering shuttles if needed. We have tickets today to both the Van Gogh Museum and the Anne Frank House (in that order) so will have a busy day. Rice table recommendations welcome!
  18. We had a lovely Japanese themed dinner in Discoveries tonight. Preceded by an Azamara Circles event in the Living Room. So well inebriated, thank you very much!!
  19. Arrived in Zeebrugge this morning and caught the shuttle to Blankenberge. From there we took the train to Brugge - a promotional special of 6.4 euros RT for 2, so a good deal. We had no agenda, so just walked around and found a lovely place for lunch. Going to the Azamara Circle cocktail party early this evening and hopefully will get hungry enough for dinner in Discoveries later.
  20. Agree to a point. Still has to be better than what they call “table syrup”, whatever that is!
  21. Had room service breakfast this morning and voila! Shocker! It’s from California, but still! I ran up to Windows and verified that the pure stuff is still not offered there.
  22. We do not stop in Ruen. And missed the local Calvados - just as well I guess! Just did a lot of walking, visited the Maritime Museum, and had lunch along the water. Moule et frites, that we both agreed was not the best we had ever had.
