  1. I don’t want to derail this thread but...A road trip is the answer! 🚗👍🏻 Feel free to message me if I can offer you any thoughts on NS from a tourists perspective.
  2. Wow! That Prime Rib... 😬A decent vet could have brought that cow back to life. 🐮 😉 Loving sailing along with you as always. We have visited Nova Scotia many times and would normally have been heading off soon but direct flights are stopping earlier this year and so we would miss out on seeing the fall colour.🍁😞 Anyway, I thought I would recommend visiting some of the wineries in Wolfville, if you get the chance. They have their own appellation, Tidal Bay. We certainly enjoyed our tastings.🍷 😜
  3. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. We've just booked the Eclipse for June next year so will check out your Sawyer Glacier recommendation. 👍🏻
  4. Thank you! I’m happy to admit that I am indeed, guilty of overthinking these things. I’m delighted the hear that the views from Blu are wonderful. Time to make my mind up.👍🏻
  5. Thank you for replying. It sounds like overall, you had an amazing cruise which is why I’m questioning myself as to how important the view from the balcony really is in the grand scheme of things. The positives of being in Aquaclass may outweigh the negatives. 👍🏻
  6. Thank you for taking the time to reply. I’m sure we would enjoy dining in Blu and I hadn’t thought about enjoy the views while we dine. Good point.👍🏻
  7. That is very interesting. The A2 I’m looking at is located after the hump so it sounds like there may indeed, be more of an overhang. Thanks for your input.
  8. Thank you! The larger balcony is really tempting.😊
  9. @RTShaker thank you for replying and for the photographs. They are very helpful At this point, I’m leaning towards the slant cabin...no pun intended.😉
  10. How exciting! @OttawaJohn I hope you will consider doing a trip report as I am about to book the Eclipse for June 2023 and would love to hear about your experiences. We have cruised to Alaska before but were on the Solstice from Seattle. This time, we are looking forward to cruising more of the Inside Passage. I’m sure you are going to have a fabulous time. Bon voyage!🛳
  11. We are about to book the Eclipse for June 2023. We can book an A2 on Deck 11 for around $180 pp more than a slant hump stateroom on Deck 9, which happens to be Concierge. Yes, I think we’d like to try Blu, yes we’d enjoy access to the Persian Gardens but I’m worried that the overhang is somehow going to interfere with the view 🤔 Am I overthinking this? Would anyone who has sailed in an Aquaclass stateroom in Alaska offer me their thoughts please? Thanks in advance!
  12. Thank you @PurpleTravellerfor taking the time to write such a fabulous trip report and include so many wonderful photographs. Our last cruise was to the Baltics and was onboard Reflection. We too, enjoyed it very much indeed. Sorry to read that plans for your subsequent cruise were scuppered by Covid and I trust that you have both fully recovered. Thanks again.
  13. This! We have always booked flights, hotels, cruises, etc ourselves and for the first time in 30 odd years, we are currently thinking that it would be safer to book a package through Celebrity. Plus, flying from Scotland, direct flights are often with low cost airlines and I’m not sure travel agents or Celebrity use them so there’s usually a stop somewhere and so many airports are struggling😔 Might just stick with St Andrews😉⛳️
  14. I’m just adding my thanks to this thread. It has been wonderful to read about all your adventures. Enjoy your time here🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 and I’m sorry that the forecast isn’t great this week. I know you will both make the best of it regardless. To quote the great Billy Connolly, “there’s no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes!”😉 I’m looking forward to reading the reviews of your next cruise and seeing if more folks can get your husband’s name right.😂 It’s Jim and IAIN... not LAIN.
