  1. @cathydev I’m totally with you on this and asked the same question a short while ago. 👍🏻 Every time I look at images like the one you have posted, it has put me off booking a stateroom on that deck. I decided that for Alaska, the overhang getting in the way of my view was a risk I wasn’t willing to take and so I’ve booked a verandah a couple of decks down. I get that this is totally different from being in Suite but wanted to say that I share your concerns on feeling hemmed in and missing “upper views”.👍🏻
  2. The guys from JJ Cruise are currently onboard doing the Iceland B2B and have just covered an incident in Blu on their YT channel. They were clearly horrified at what happened.😕
  3. The same could be said for Scotland and the rust is probably why we have so many red-headed people!🤣🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿☔️
  4. @SC10snutYou are very welcome. Enjoy your cruise!
  5. We did this cruise in 2018 and the itinerary sounds similar. If I remember correctly, the glacier cruising is very early morning and you dock in Juneau later that day. The inside passage cruising( which is glorious) is after you have left Skagway. So really only 2 sea days whereby you cannot get off the ship...and there is nothing to see except sea. 🌊😉 I hope that helps you.
  6. Love the photos! Thank you so much for sharing them. What was it like to experience the lights? 😜
  7. Forgot to add, you don’t say which ship you are looking at but our last stateroom on the Reflection was near to the Card Room /board games area and we did not experience any noise from that either.👍🏻
  8. We have always booked Deck 8 or 9 mid-ship balcony staterooms, on the slant of the hump, due to them having a larger balcony. I can’t say we noticed any noise from people passing the door, nor from above or below. The only irritating noise we had one time, was from the people in the next room allowing their door to slam closed when the went in and out. You could get that kind of neighbour in any location.😉 Good luck with choosing!
  9. I’m so jealous.😆 I hope you see the Aurora Borealis and manage to get some photos to share with us all.🤞🏻
  10. @Straughn Thank you for clarifying that. I would have guessed but wanted to leave it to someone who definitely knew for sure.👍🏻😊 I appreciate you talking the time to reply.
  11. Loving all your photos @Jim_Iain I have just booked us a 6 day trip to Reykyavik for the end of November and have added this waterfall to our “must see” list. I sincerely hope that you get to see the Aurora Borealis tonight.🤞🏻 That is what I am hoping for on our trip.
  12. I’ve found this deck plan image for your deck , the sort of thing I was looking for, for my own. Perhaps someone will be able to confirm the bed arrangement for you from this image.
  13. @helen haywoodThank you so much! Not only does your reply explain how to understand the bed configuration from the deck plan but it confirms what I’d secretly hoped...bed by balcony.😉 Thanks again.🥰
  14. Whether it’s a bed near balcony or a bed near bathroom layout? I've looked at deck plans on many websites but none show the detail like this first image. All seem to have straight lines as in the second image. Can anyone direct me to a site whereby I’m might find deck plans like the first image please? Thanks in advance.
  15. Thank you for taking the time to share the menu.👍🏻 I’m partial to an Aspen coffee from Cafe al Bacio.😋
  16. In Scotland, we call these Daddy Long Legs! 😁Harmless, but annoying inside the house.
  17. Your stateroom does indeed look very spacious, as the name suggest. I’m eager to hear what it’s like being located so far forward as I’ve always chickened out and booked midship in case I feel too much movement. Perhaps it’s just an illusion, but your martinis appear huge next to the Captains & coke!🍸🤪 Thank you for taking one( or many) for the team and tasting them all for research purposes. I really appreciate you posting the menus ,dailies and food photos. Yes, more broccoli would have been nice and I would have been at the Silent Disco for sure. I absolutely love it!🎧💃🕺 Looking forward to reading more, when you have time.
  18. I’m guessing if you HADN'T linked it, they would be asking to see it .😉 So, what did you order at the bar?🍹😜
  19. @penzance30 hi!👋🏻 I am also in the U.K. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 We booked whilst onboard and got the standard pricing for a Baltic Cruise. (I’d done my homework beforehand) We did get a lower deposit and some OBC. We were asked at the time, whether we wanted the booking transferred to our existing TA and we agreed to that. Upon our return home, I telephoned our TA and mentioned the transfer of the onboard booking and they gave us an additional $100 OBC. Fast forward to 2022, when we called the same TA to book another Alaskan cruise. The “group rate”? they could secure was WAY better than Celebrity online, like £600 cheaper. No OBC from Celebrity nor the TA but still£££ saved. In summary, my hubby will not be convinced to book a future cruise onboard again!😂
  20. I just want to say thank you @KenTheCruiser for your ongoing report. I’ve been enjoying following you and @Jim_Iain so much that I’ve booked us a 6 day trip to Reykyavik for late November. 🤭🤣I have always wanted to see the Aurora Borealis so it would be great if that could be ticked off my bucket list on the trip. No guarantees, I know but I’m keeping all my fingers crossed.🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 As for Cruise Directors, we last had Giuseppe on Reflection and he was absolutely marvellous.👌🏻 I think previously, we had Liam?🤔 on Solstice. Does anyone know where he is these days? I haven’t seen his name mentioned by others.
  21. And there you go!🤪 15 minutes after completing the quiz by following the link provided above and 13 minutes after posting my thanks here, the Australia quiz email has now arrived in my inbox!
  22. Just adding my thanks here. Neither of us received this quiz email either. I really appreciate it when people post so I have the opportunity to use the links provided or check through my spam folder. Every little point helps.😉 Thanks again.👍🏻
  23. Following along! We did this cruise back in 2018 and loved it so much, that we’ve booked to sail from Vancouver next year. Looking forward to sailing along with you. Safe travels to Seattle.
