  1. Yes, 2 devices (of any kind - smartphones, tablets, laptops) can connect at the same time. And you can switch between more than 2 devices as long as only 2 are connected at the same time. No, you are not sharing bandwidth between the two devices. You are sharing it with everyone on the ship so a 2 device plan vs. 2 one device plans will be the same as far as speed.
  2. Yes, Celebrity goes out of San Pedro. Long Beach is your closest airport but LAX and SNA are both within a reasonable distance so I suggest considering all three when looking for flights. We ended up flying in and out of SNA last time because the flight times were better and I wanted to avoid the craziness of LAX. SNA is a really nice airport. We stayed at the Crowne Plaza which is walking distance from the port (although maybe a bit far with luggage) and has a cruise port shuttle for a small fee. It was in the middle of pretty extensive renovations when we were there last February so probably is in pretty good shape right now. You will have to find your own transportation from the airport. We almost always book flights on our own so I can't give you any tips for working with Celebrity's air program.
  3. I don't think they are targeting to the mom with a 3 year old child. Personally, I think they are aiming more for people like me, DINKs in the 35-50 range who likely have some money and have established enough in their careers to have some vacation time. (I would guess those in their 50s are already regularly Celebrity customers.). Those still in their 20s don't have the money or time to be cruising often and definitely don't have the money for suites. That's not to say they won't also attract more families especially in the summers but that will be couples in that 35-50 range with children, not those in their 20s.
  4. This is why @dlh015's answer was really the best answer. I was going to post something similar but they beat me to it. I don't trust that every person on an online forum is being completely honest how much they actually tip and I don't think it matters. Tip who you feel warrants it in the amount that feels right to you.
  5. No, I do not have any inside information. Europe itineraries for 2025 is not out yet. That said, the Mediterranean/Europe season (roughly Apr - Nov) is still a big season for Celebrity (and all cruise lines) and Celebrity still has a big presence there (in 2024 - Apex, Ascent, Constellation, Infinity, Equinox, Silhouette). They aren't just going to suddenly disappear from Europe. The Beyond was likely just one ship too many. I would be very surprised if they didn't send back 2 Edge class ships (along with a number of M/S Class ships) for summer of 2025.
  6. Yes, it is separate from your app login. The first time you connect to the ship's wifi, a webpage will open. It will give you options to either just use the app or to purchase or activate an internet plan. The first time you activate an internet plan, I believe it asks for your folio number (a number that will be on your sea pass card) to connect the plan to you. Then it asks you to create a user name and pin. It is that user name and pin you create at that stage that you can share. Edit to add: If for some reason the webpage doesn't open, usually login dot com will direct you to the right place and logout dot com to log out. This is actually universal across most cruise lines.
  7. The app just requires connecting to their intranet (so no internet package is required for the app). To connect to the internet with a package you purchased, you create a login and pin. That login and pin can be shared with anyone you just can’t be logged on at the same time to more devices than your plan. You can switch which 2 devices are connected as often as you want with a 2 device plan.
  8. There are 4 Edge Class ships (with one more on order). Only 1 is scheduled to be in the Caribbean in the summer, and not even their newest ship. How is that all of their Edge class ships?
  9. I'm not saying it makes it better for anyone who was booked on the Beyond or Reflection. My point is that for the rest of us, I don't see how this change matters in the grand scheme of things. We as cruisers have more options than we did in years past. To me, that is a positive.
  10. Yes, the Beyond's Europe cruises (as an example) were cancelled which affected individual people (and I agree it was handled poorly) but Europe has not traditionally had that many Celebrity ships there all at once. So if you are comparing with past years, there are still more ships cruising in Europe (even with this change) than there have been historically. There still is a net positive for the number of itineraries and options for cruisers.
  11. We'll just have to wait and see. Just a thought, since the pandemic, Celebrity has added three ships to the mix which means they have added three ships worth of itineraries. Until they seriously start getting rid of a lot of their older ships, moves like this one with the Beyond and Reflection are more about adjusting their new itineraries to better match demand, not taking away old itineraries.
  12. The Apex and the Ascent will still be in Europe for the 2024 season.
  13. I don’t think they are lifeboat obstructions as those diamonds appear on some (but not all) of the far forward and far aft porthole verandas on multiple decks as well as a few panoramic ocean view cabins. Interestingly those symbols only show up in the Beyond and Ascent (not the Apex or the Edge).
  14. I don't mind Coco Cay. I do enjoy a private island with a beach. But having been at both Princess Cays and Coco Cay in the last year, I personally would choose Princess Cays because I didn't have any issues finding a quiet spot. By lunch time on our last visit to Coco Cay, I couldn't find quiet anywhere. Hopefully Hideaway Beach will improve that.
  15. Have you seen what they recently revealed for the top deck of the Sun Princess (which probably will also be on the Star Princess)? If I replaced the word Coco Cay with Sun Princess in this thread, I would be on a Princess board (just a week or two earlier).
  16. Most people I hear who upgrade to the premium package are doing so because of better wines (although supply has been an issue for that), better high end liquors, the martinis at the martini bar, and things like fancy waters. There are plenty of basic cocktails covered under the classic package. And with the classic package, you get a $10 discount on anything that is more expensive so if sometimes you want to splurge on a higher end cocktail or better wine, it generally won't cost you more than a couple dollars.
  17. It's easy to enforce. Your card will indicate the drink package you have and any bartender that swipes it will know exactly which drink package you have. This is outside the Retreat Lounge. I was never asked for my card in Michael's Club/Retreat Lounge. The first day of each cruise, I was though asked for my card in Luminae and so the Sommelier knew which package I had. And whatever wi-fi package you get is associated with your reservation and so when you login that first time, it will know which one to give you.
  18. This thread got me wondering. Does anyone have any actual experience moving up from a cabin category that didn't already have the premium beverage package to an upper suite? This thread (and any other threads I can find from the last few years) have lots of examples of people moving up from lower suites who already had the premium beverage package but I'm not finding any actual experience from someone who didn't already have that perk to answer this question. Also, someone referenced the MoveUp description for the Royal Suite having some language. Does anyone have a screen shot of that?
  19. On that page the section about amenities are the things that everyone gets with a Royal suite no matter whether they book it outright or MoveUp. The paragraph about added “perks” relate to your initial booking. You will not get those unless they were part of your initial booking.
  20. Generally with move-up, you get everything that comes with your new cabin type except the Wi-Fi package, drink package, included gratuities, and promotional OBC (you keep what you had for those things). Plus you earn loyalty points at the rate of your initial booking.
  21. I think that Celebrity knows that if it wants to grow, they need to appeal to the next generation of cruisers. I see Princess doing the same thing with their new Sun Princess. This news about Coco Cay doesn't bother me. I'm not a huge fan of Coco Cay (although I would enjoy a less crazy private island) but there still are plenty of other itineraries.
  22. According to the FAQ someone posted, yes, the Celebrity drink packages will work at CocoCay. It will be interesting though to see how bartenders on the island handle two different systems with both a RCCL and. Celebrity ship in port at the same time.
  23. This is not at all representative of Coco Cay on a day when multiple ships are in port, especially if one of them is an Oasis class of ships. In the morning we did find plenty of quiet spaces to sit but as more people got off the ship that quiet disappeared and so we got up and started to wander the island more. It was really loud and busy everywhere we walked so we headed back to the ship. That's not to say we couldn't have found lounge chairs at numerous places but we weren't finding quiet spots anymore by late morning. I am hopeful though that the addition of Hideaway Beach helps create more quiet spots. And I agree that it isn't Nassau (although Nassau recently opened their new terminal area so I imagine looks a bit different than even our January stop there) but a lot of the itineraries going to Coco Cay also will stop at Nassau still.
  24. This thread has a few people who have received e-mails moving their Reflection sailing to the Beyond.

Our Eclipse cruise last month was that way all the way up until a week or two before our cruise. My understanding is these menus are just in the test phase on one ship. There is no rollout date that has been announced.
