  1. I can't imagine someone trying them all over the course of just one evening! The cruise I did it on was a 10 night cruise so that was only about 2 martinis a day.
  2. Deal or No Deal was a one and done for us. I agree I would rather play bingo.
  3. It's the replacement for bingo. An audience member gets called up to play just like on the TV show Deal or No Deal. Everyone else in the audience has cards of the briefcases and opens the same ones the contestant on stage opens. Based on how many of the brief cases on your card match the game being played on stage, you can win money.
  4. Yes, I did one cruise before the pandemic with the exception of one or two of the dessert ones that have dairy in them (I'm allergic to dairy). And on most cruises, I make my way through quite a few of them as I have a lot of favorites.
  5. I do recognize that which is why I qualified my statement. I just also recall reading that exact language at some point before yesterday which is why I was questioning how new it was and whether it related to this change in policy for vaping. For those that are on now, is there a separate section of the casino that is clearly marked as no vaping? Or do they allow vaping in the entire casino? The policy linked talks about signage indicating "the areas for both smoking and non-smoking guests" Also, is this just the Equinox? Or are people seeing it on other ships?
  6. This isn't about vaping. This is smoking in general. And although I know we can't always trust this, the update date on that page is January 2021. Are you sure this is a change? I have seen that language before and remembered wondering which itineraries allowed smoking.
  7. I did a B2B on a different cruise line last year. Week one was full of friendly and great passengers. Week two brought in so many rude passengers I thought I had been transported to a different time and place. I really felt bad for the crew dealing with them and can vividly recall the relief on a crew member's face when he saw me second in line to get coffee one morning as he knew I would be a friendly face after serving the man in front of me who behaved so rudely. Fortunately, I have not experienced anything even close to that on any of my other cruises. But it did make me realize how passenger makeup can change from cruise to cruise to create such a different vibe.
  8. I agree but I do recall times where we were stuck behind a line of people leading up to those photographers. Depending on how it was set up, there wasn't always space to walk around so you had to wait until you got to the front of the line to pass on the photo.
  9. I've never made anything myself but have enjoyed watching. The staff do a lot to help so the pieces really do turn out well. Here is a short video from our Eclipse cruise in May.
  10. There was a webinar in May. I think I heard rumblings that a few with upcoming bookings got one in June regarding purchasing a hotel stay or some other sort of add-on. We did not get that one. I expect they are phasing these out. Their goal was to keep customers engaged through the shutdown. I expect they would rather customers now engage with them through bookings.
  11. How are airlines more transparent? After I book a flight, I often then face charges to pick a seat, charges to check a bag, charges to upgrade boarding or check-in times, etc.? Yes, those charges are clear on the website if you do your research so you can anticipate them but the same is true with a cruise. Hotels are often even less transparent with all the added taxes, resort fees, etc. that get added on to the base price.
  12. I always check the box to pre-pay them when I book. In the past, that has always protected the gratuity cost against increases between time of booking and sailing. I expect it will be the same this time too. But if not, we can afford the extra $7 for our Ascent cruise.
  13. I think it sometimes is automatic. I don't recall doing anything besides verifying my numbers were in the apps/websites. When she logs into the app or the website, what does it list for her loyalty level? If it says Elite, then you are good to go.
  14. AI is not affected at all. Your gratuities are covered regardless of what they cost at the time of booking or sailing.
  15. I dug through the threads I could find from the last couple years (including one from not that long ago) and didn't see any such examples but that doesn't mean I couldn't have missed something.
  16. So before the introduction of the AI fares and maybe even before the MoveUp program started. I'm not saying it can't still be accurate but a lot has changed in that time frame.
  17. Interesting. Where is this from and how old is it?
  18. Just to clarify, when you bid on and were awarded a Royal Suite, you already had premium wifi and premium drinks from your original booking? What I am curious is someone who won a bid to an upper suite that either had classic drink/basic wifi or neither of those perks in their original booking.
  19. They are not set up to take your credit card (everything is charged to your sea pass). They can't charge to your sea pass while in port. And if you were officially disembarking early, they were closing out your sea pass card at that time. So this makes complete sense why they couldn't do what you were asking them to do. Now, that doesn't excuse the fact that the link hasn't been sent even after payment was made on your behalf by someone else.
  20. I was really hoping someone with actual experience moving up from a fare without the premium drink and wifi packages to an upper suite would be able to share their experiences. It makes complete sense to me that upper suites might have wifi and the drinks package included in the cabin as an amenity not a perk but to me Celebrity's website is pretty clear that you don't get drinks or wifi with a MoveUp bid and I don't see an exception to that policy for upper suites.
  21. The only reason to contact Captains Club is if your Celebrity account/set sail pass isn't saying Elite already. (And a call isn't always necessary as you can add captains club and crown & anchor numbers directly to your Celebrity and RCCL profiles online.)
  22. Did you initially have the classic package (maybe through AI) and then upgrade to premium?
  23. The diamond doesn't show up on deck plans for the Edge and Apex (which is what your link references). It only shows up on the Beyond and Ascent deck plans. And the diamond isn't on all the cabins I expect have an obstruction which is puzzling to me. For example the porthole veranda cabins on deck 7 - in some cases a single cabin will have the diamond with the ones around it not having the diamond. And on deck 6, the only infinite verandas with the symbol are the solo cabins. There are more lifeboats than just those two small sections of cabins on each side.
  24. Shortly before the pandemic, we did a RCCL cruise (on an Oasis class ship) that departed the Sunday after Thanksgiving and there were only a couple dozen children on the entire ship. We have done Celebrity cruises the first and second week of December and rarely see any kids. So as long as you avoid the actual week of Thanksgiving, I wouldn't worry about the ship being overrun with children.
  25. No, spring breaks aren't until March and sometimes into April. There should be very few children on an early February cruise.
