I thought Carnival didn't offer daily internet options anymore?

It might not be an upfront option but I'd doubt very seriously if a passenger walked up to the service desk or tried adding it on the app mid-cruise they'd be denied. And if you let them know later it's not working for you/your needs then you can cancel.

But in direct response to your statement, I don't know for sure if it is a per day option anymore. However, those are ways not to pay for it the entire cruise.

One, if you pay full price for Cheers, you are correct. Not nearly as much with RU1, RU2 or RU3 promo codes.  If you get on the ship at Noon, that still gives you 12 hours to drink your 6 drinks, 1 drink every 2 hours is doable by anyone.  Days you're in port till 500, gives you 7 hours to drink those 6 drinks, averaging out to an hour and 10 minutes in between drinks.  Once again, very doable.  And you're forgetting all of the unlimited included non alcoholic options which would reduce the number of alcoholic drinks you need to consume.

Definitely  not anyone. I'd get full before I can do that. And it's not the liquor, it's the lack of. If it were strong drinks, I might have more...but weak ones are just filling and I don't want to feel full from sugary drinks. And I don't drink coffee or soft drinks, and I don't care for the bottled water when filtered water is available. Especially when it's Nestle! Nestle is local tap water (not exaggerating). I drink water or liquor with the occasional 100% juice. Even the daily juice at breakfast is something I'd only do on vacation.

  3. I know this thread is several months old but just in case anyone else was looking for information I thought I'd post. You can also skip the package and just add days when you need. So maybe do the value every 2-4 days or so to get caught up?? Just a thought/alternative.

I'm guessing the mid-price is about $12 a day, so days 2, 5, 8, 11 and maybe 14, only about $60...so still not much more than the daily social media package, but a decent speed. And if it's true what others are saying about not much difference from premium, then it should work.

I had the premium on Breeze in 2018 and it was painfully slow through VPN on my laptop, but directly through was okay. Phone was the fastest and best for email.

  4. It's funny this pointed out the reuse of the ship name, because I ignored looking at the Celebration ship cruise sailings thinking it was an older ship LOL! Wasn't 'til I did ship comparisons and noticed it at the top that I realized it was a new ship. Thought it was brain fog for a minute.

No worries, there will be plenty of it. We were on the last Horizon cruise before the shutdown and they had hand sanitizer dispensers everywhere. And each one was manned by a crew member encouraging everyone to use them. I can still hear them calling out, "Hand sanitizerrrrrr!" LOL I'm sure they'll be doing the same once cruising resumes.

Hopefully passengers will be better about than the passengers on Royal. There were hand sanitizer machines and the crew would stand outside the buffet with a pump bottle to give everyone. A LOT of people ignored them, even when the line was at a stand still they just wouldn't take it. Not only were the rude to the employees, but it was baffling why they were so set on not using it.

But even if they do, I'm like the previous poster who said they wash/sanitize even after getting their food. I notice not only are people handling the spoons that refused the hand sanitizer, some think they have to lick their fingers every time they touch something...which means now their spit is on the spoon as well 🤢

So if any of you see someone spooning food from the buffet with a napkin, and then use hand sanitizer once they sit down --- it's probably me (or a relative) LOL! (IF we ever have buffets again)

The promotion is to spur bookings within the first year of cruises coming back.  Cheers for only 10 bucks per day would entice me to hook a cruise just to take advantage of it, but I was outside of the targeted rifle audience that the promotional bean counters are going after.

But, on a positive note, I did make it for their WiFi promotion, which does me no good since I unplug while on vacation.  Similar to a teetotaler getting the Cheers promo.

Oh it enticed me alright, but I was hoping we'd be able to cruise with others and none of them are interested in an early 2022 cruise. I can't blame them, I was thinking further out as well, but Carnival's trick worked and I was willing (possibly) to book. I even put it on the free 4 day hold while I wold others to check their offers and let's possibly do the 2022.

And my wi-fi package offer is about 1.5x more than the drinks package lol! No thanks! Like you, I like the unplugged feeling. So, unless I need to work, I bypass the internet package.

  7. The day you posted this I was actually on the Carnival website looking for the bottles. It was to the point where I was wondering if they no longer offered it (searched everything in gifts, cruise planner, FAQ's). I finally just had to do an internet search and it popped right up.

For anyone else looking, here is a direct link to individual bottles for your room and also the bottles + mixers.

I remember we were cruising for out anniversary and we had a bottle of champagne waiting for us in the suite.. but honestly, it wasnt the best drink I had on board

LOL, I don't doubt that one bit. The bottle of wine I had before wasn't the best but I'm a sucker for a bonus/perk!

So here's how it works.  You spend $1000 of YOUR money on a cruise and it gets cancelled.  Carnival gives you FCC of $1000 to be used by Spring '23 (as things currently stand).  On top of that they give you $600 total (not pp) in future onboard credit for your rebooked cruise.  This is for a cancelled cruise of 6+ days (shorter get $300).  The only thing you can't do is to add a 'new' onboard credit on top of a previously booked cruise where you already have an existing 'thank you' credit from a prior cancellation..... the famed 'no stacking' provision. (Two cancelled cruises can't be doubled up and create a $1200 OBC.)

Great, thank you for spelling that out. I was mainly just making sure it's still being offered. Some first time cruisers actually said they wanted to go but were hesitant about paying right now. I think knowing we can reschedule if things don't work out, plus the bonus incentive will help get them to go ahead and move forward on the booking....and same for an avid cruiser who loves Royal.

Also, I didn't know the extension is now until April 2023! Even better since we have an early 2023 cruise planned!!!

My April 2021 cruise was cancelled and I was able to move everything I paid on that cruise to a cruise in August.  I got a refund on my credit card for a small amount since my August cruise was less expensive.  I also received a $600 OBC.  My August cruise has the free cheers package, so I am fine with everything.

Thank you for letting me know this is still going on. I have the RU1 offer which made it $70 more per person but I have to use it by early 2022. I wonder if that will be changed. I'm also curious to know if I use the drink package offer but the cruise is cancelled, will it appear again under my offers. I guess that's the next big question I need to be on the lookout for. I think I will hold off on using it since we have a cruise 2023 planned.

Cruises cancelled by carnival are still getting FCC. You can't double dip on FCC but could book multiple cruises. Interesting, it sounds as if you're booking hoping to get canceled to save on a future cruise. Interesting strategy 😀 .

Is the "double dip," you're referring to the $600? I thought the future cruise credit would be what I actually spent on the fare...if so, I don't get how that's double dipping. Allowing me to use basically a store credit vs. a refund is standard, not an incentive.

  11. Hi, I've been reading off and on for a few days and even did a search but I haven't seen this particular situation addressed and couldn't find a straight answer through Carnival.com. My question is, if I book a 7-day cruise today for spring/summer of 2021 and Carnival ends up cancelling it, will I get the option to use what I paid as future cruise credit (FCC) and get the $600 onboard credit? The reason this is a question is because I didn't know if it was still an incentive being offered, or if all the people commenting are people who booked and surprisingly had their cruise cancelled last year when the pandemic was still a new revelation. Most of the posts seem to be people who have rebooked once or multiple times.

  12. I haven't read through the 7 pages of comments so, I'm only addressing the OP's questions. My only experience on Carnival was on the Breeze when it was maybe about a year old, so I did not notice any cleanliness issues. And after reading the overall CruiseCritic opinion on Carnival, I was extremely surprised about how wonderful both the ship and the experience was. My only experience on Royal Caribbean was this year and though I didn't feel the ship was as crowded (unless in the buffet or waiting on an elevator), I was very uncomfortable because of the lack of cleanliness in the cabin. I had the room steward go through 6 sets of sheets before we finally found a set without hairs on them (bleh). Of course, I still ended seeing one but flipped them a different way. This was also an entirely different experience then what I expected because of all of the RCI is so much better and Carnival is the Walmart of cruiseline type comments on CruiseCritic and cruising forums in general. There were some other things that made me leery of how sanitary things were on the Royal Caribbean ship. There was mystery debris on the toilet when we arrived, the bathroom overall just appeared dingy, and the bathroom at the spa was like an old high school bathroom or shared dorm shower room. It had been cleaned, but the lighting, flimsy shower curtains, and steel toilet made it feel like somewhere in between an old high school locker room and prison.
